Gerald had just finished his fifth match. Surprisingly it was pretty easy. It was against another newcomer who still wasn't accustomed to fighting five times in a row.
As soon as the whistle blew Gerald rushed to his opponent. All this other time he had been the guy who was getting charged but not this time.
The newcomer was already exhausted to the point where it looked like he was going to collapse and Gerald took advantage of this.
As soon as he reached his opponent he launched himself into the air and delivered a kick to his chin.
The poor opponent was put to sleep before his brain could tell him to counter attack. Gerald stood over the guy who looked like he was peacefully sleeping. He had learnt his lesson, he wasn't going to turn his back on his opponent even if they looked like they had been knocked out.
The medical crew just like before entered and carried away the knocked out opponent. "That's five matches done, I wonder what I should do next. I'll just return to the fighters room and train for a while before going to Minna."
As soon as Gerald stepped out of the cage, all the objects being thrown at him stopped. Gerald didn't know why. He didn't know that it was against the rules for anyone from the crowd to attack the fighters. They could only bark at him and not bite. They had no intention of being killed just like the other idiots who didn't bother following the rules.
As Gerald walked Liu Xiu walked next to him as she came from out of the crowd. "There is a shower in the fighters room, make sure you have one and get ready. The boss wants to speak to you."
"Tell him he can wait." Gerald said.
When Gerald saw Liu Xiu's face it was like she was telling that he was an idiot and he should reconsider.
"Very well then. Do you remember where his office is?" She asked.
"Yes, I do."
When Gerald walked into the fighters room, he heard whistling and clapping. Nearly everyone was clapping.
"Ay, good work out there, you really proved yourself out there, and no one is gonna underestimate you anymore." A bulky guy said. He had a bald head and a grey goatee.
"Oh thanks." Gerald replied.
For quite a while, Gerald was bombarded with compliments and questions.
All was going well until, Mursik entered the room. He gave Gerald an evil eye but didn't say anything. Although he walked straight to the showers, the mood had become akward.
The people around him went back to doing the stuff they were doing.
Gerald also decided to work out for a while. He worked out well, training his legs, core and arms.
After what seemed like an hour passed, Sylvie walked in. She was sweating profusely and sweating heavily. She gave Gerald a quick look but then just went to the showers.
Gerald quickly followed after her and into the showers. He took of his clothes and placed it on a chair that was by the shower room door.
Sylvie was in the showers now. She was completely and utterly naked. She looked like just how any beautiful woman would look except for her scars.
She had several scars on her back, legs, stomach, chest and her forearms. When she saw Gerald she didn't bother covering herself up. She just continued to lather herself up with soap.
Gerald stood under the shower next to her.
"Hey,"
"I'm not interested." Sylvie said. She didn't bother to turn around and face him.
"Interested in what?" Gerald asked.
Sylvie stopped gathering her arms and turned her head to him. "In you, I have no intention of sleeping with you or being your woman. Is that not why you came here, all completely naked?"
Gerald ran his fingers through his hair for the water to get inside.
"I see, but trust me I have no intention of doing any of that, even if I wanted to. My wife was the jealous type so she paid a witch to make me impotent and to be only aroused by her."
"That's rough buddy," Sylvie said as she turned back around. She was lathering her chest now.
"So what is it that you wanted?"
"What is it that I wanted? What is it that you want? You gave me a quick glance and then entered the mixed gender shower room, that is why I think you wanted to talk to me so I came here. You also didn't scream or tell me to leave." Gerald said. It was really weird washing your body with only water and no soap.
Sylvie chuckled lightly, "You really do read between the lines don't you? Why is it that you held back? I could see you were giving it your all to hold back."
"I wasn't holding back in the slightest, that was the fully extent of my abilities for now. I am a bit out of shape but even if I was in top shape I wouldn't be that much better. In fact I have reason to believe that you were holding back, the first time I thought that I actually had knocked you out but the second time I know that you staid down on purpose, why is that?"
Sylvie placed the soap on her face and scrubbed hard, "Well you see when I first started fighting in this arena, I was exhilarated. I used to be a battle addict, I fought because it was fun. A place where I could face strong opponents and get paid for it, but after some time it became boring, none of these fighters proved a challenge for me, I have been here for five years and I fought every day and the only loss I took is from you tonight. I don't even know why I fight anymore, I don't find any joy in it because everything has become too easy for me. I staid down because I thought that you were like the others, even if I had gotten back up I couldn't go full power without destroying this arena, so it was pointless even if I got back up."
The water was becoming too hot for Gerald so he turned on the cold water to balance it out.
"So you want to fight me at full power?" Gerald asked.
"Yes, I know you want to as well."
"You said that if you went all out you would destroy this arena, I have no intention of fighting people stronger than me and dying, I have a daughter to think of so no thank you." Gerald closed the water and squeegeed the water of his body.
"What do you mean that? Do you not wish to fight? Did you not feel anything when we fought?" Sylvie asked.
"No I do not wish to fight, I'm not suicidal because the only thing I felt was fear and danger, I'm not as strong as you think I am. If you want to find a strong opponent then you should go to Atlantis, the people there are so strong that they are rated S tier on the Kravonian Table."
Gerald walked over to the chair and put on his boxers, he picked up his gloves and left the room.
Sylvie was left standing in the shower. As the water ran down her body she smiled. "S tier on the Kravonian table! Don't mind if I do!"
