"Uh . . ." A soft voice mumbled at the other end of the phone.
Without thinking, I blurted out,
"Is this the waitress I gave my number too earlier?"
I could see all of my friends staring at me with a "oh wtf" look on their faces. My friend Bryan shook his head and wrote down on a piece of paper - 'The hell is wrong with you dude!'
I gave him a 'What did I do wrong?' shrug.
I really thought I was doing a good job at flirting, but even if I still suck at flirting, I know now that back then I was a total closer at "trying to catch a girl's heart."
The rest of my friends continued to shake their heads in disappointment, and Bryan flopped on the couch looking annoyed. While I, on the other hand, impatiently waited for a response from the other end of the phone.
Everything went silent when I turned on speaker mode to hear a soft giggle.
"Yea it IS the waitress," She replied, making me stop.
My eyes widened and so did my friend's.
Damn . . . It really IS her!
"Oh- . . . u-uh," I stutterd, gaining more intrigued but disappointed looks on my friends' faces.
Before I could say anything else, my other bud, Tyler, grabbed the phone and yelled,
"Hey this is the doofuses friend! He thinks ya a cutie but he just doesn't know how to ask ya out," I cursed at him as I struggled hard to get my phone from his grip. "He's a confident flirt once ya meet him, but later on, he's gonna be an awkward boyfriend, that is, if ya willing to date him. Are ya?"
I tried to grab the phone but it was too late, he already said what I feared to say.
I could hear the chuckles and snickers of the rest of my friends as Tyler gave me an annoyed smirk.
"At least ya got it over with bro," Logan said as he stretches.
I let out a frustrated sigh before saying,
"Why did you have to do that? I could have handled it myself Tyler."
"Yea yea, ya could have handled it yourself, but I handled it better than ya could ever have done it," Tyler laughed, a big annoying grin on his face.
"Ayo, aren't you still on the phone with her dude?" My friend, Adrian snorted.
My eyes widened as I grabbed the phone from Tyler's hand.
"Dammit," I muttered while Bryan started laughing.
"F*ck you Bryan!" I yelled, covering the speaker on my phone.
Everything went silent when I heard a laugh on the other end of the line.
"You guys are funny," The waitress chuckled, "and by the way. My name's Ciara."
Ciara . . . never heard that name before, but I love it. I thought as she continued to giggle, feeling my heart melt. - Editor: Rachel_pendragon💖
