Chapter 12 - Andrew

I was busy thinking about her name and the warmth melting my heart. I was startled when Logan nudged my arm and mouthed, 'Say something you idiot'.

"Cute name," I muttered on accident, making me slap myself on the head and fall back onto the couch.

"Andy man. What the f*** is wrong with you?" Adrian sighed as he went into my kitchen cabinet.

"Dude, I'm about to leave. Andy man I'm sorry, but this is way too cringy for me, and way too weird." Adrian continued.

"I- uh . . .," I stammered, I couldn't find a way to have a proper conversation with her.

"You know what. I'm kind of rethinking my decision to call you," Ciara said with a chuckle.

"Wait. I- uh. Sorry I don't really know how to talk to girls on the phone. I just thought you were really stunning," I muttered slowly while Bryan leaned his head back on the couch.

"Pft- . . . I'm just joking! I mean . . . it is awkward talking to you on the phone, you were all flirty with me back at the restaurant. I wondered if this was the same person," She giggled.

"YEA I KNOW RIGHT! THAT'S WHAT I WAS THINKING!" Adrian shouted with his mouth full of chips.

"Stop raiding my f*cking snacks!" I shouted, listening to Ciara's cute laughter.

Damn, I just can't have a normal conversation with a girl can I?

"Also, I would love to go out with you. Maybe we could give it a try. . . ,"

I let out a huge gasp as Adrian dropped the chips on the ground.

"Wait, are you serious?! You want to go out with this douchebag?! Man you must be crazy to want to date this guy. Yep, you must be crazy," Adrian said, picking up his bag of chips and shaking his head.

"Your friends are hilarious, and yeah, he seems pretty handsome if I must say to your friend," Lily laughed.

"Yea . . . and by the way . . . my name is Andrew,"

I looked to my left to see all my friends looking so surprised. I smirked at their faces as I felt a sense of victory."Nice to meet you Andrew."

"Nice to meet you too Ciara," I greeted back.

I could see the faces of my friends. The faces of shock.

I mean . . . I myself was a bit shocked, and happy at the same time. She said she wanted to give it a try! Dating me! My first girlfriend! WOO! SUCKS FOR YOU CHRIS!

"So . . . are you free anytime soon?" I asked her, staring at the ground and trying to ignore my friend's stares piercing through my side.

"Actually I have this whole week off, my boss cut me a break," She replied, a feeling of relief washed over me.

My luck is just amazing.

"Oh, well why don't we go out this week? T-that is if you don't have any plans," I stuttered  and glanced at my baffled friend's faces.

"Mhm . . . I'll be happy to see you again Andrew," Ciara giggled

"Me too Ciara," I smiled and hung up.

Everything stayed silent for a while, except Adrian's loud chewing, but I didn't mind. I was delighted yet so surprised.

My head was full of thoughts about Ciara, and her saying how she wanted to date me.

"Bro. . .  Logan, are you crying?!" Tyler shouted as our eyes all darted to Logan's teary eyed face.

"Uh, you good?" Bryan asked while patting Logan's Back. Well, more like slapping his back.

Logan sniffed a few times before saying,

"I- I'm just glad that my son has grown up to be a fine man."

Everyone let out an annoyed sigh while Logan bursted out into laughter.

I rolled my eyes and continued to stare at my phone, finding that Ciara texted me.

'Can't wait Andrew ;)'

I smiled and texted back,

'Me too:)'

I didn't notice that Adrian was reading the texts behind me with a cringe while he munched on his chips loudly.

I gave him a stare while rolling my eyes.

"OH! Sorry, am I chewing too loud?!" He yelled sarcastically, chewing louder.

"NOM NOM NOM NOM!"

"Oh grow up Aj, and stop hogging the damn chips! Sharing is caring man," Bryan yelled while darting over to the snack cabinet and grabbing Fritos.

"Hey, those are my favorite! Gimme!" Adrian yelled.

Why am I friends with 5 year-olds? I sighed and rested my head on my hand, exhaustion yet anticipation coming over me as I thought about my upcoming date.

I started dozing off unknowingly until Tyler woke me up with a slap on the back of my head.

"Hey! What was that fo-"

"Andy man you got a date soon this week," He cut me off.

"Yea I know," I said in a 'duh' tone and proceeded to close my eyes.

"Andy! Wake up, you got a date soon!" He shouted.

"Okay okay I'm awake! Ugh, why do you gotta be like this?" I asked while Tyler rolled his eyes.

"Well I gotta be like this because you have no experience with girls! To top it off, this is your first girlfriend, and you're acting chill like nothing happened! Andy man, I love ya, but you still need some help for when you and Ciara meet," Tyler said, motioning his hands everywhere.

I scoffed and shook my head, "Oh really? You know I can handle anything Tye,"

Tyler just stared at me in disbelief while the rest of my friends started laughing.

"Hahaha! That's the funniest thing I have ever heard! You can 'handle anything' -PFT-," Logan laughed, making me roll my eyes.

"Oh give him a break Logan," Bryan said.

"Yea give me a break please . . ," I said in annoyance.

"Psh- yea right. Let me teach you about girls, my son," Logan said.

"Oh stop, I know a lot about girls."

Adrian munched on a cookie, "Well, we all know that's a lie,"

"Okay if you know lots of things about girls, tell me this, what would you give your girlfriend on valentine's day?" Bryan asked

I thought it was obvious, so I said,

"Roses, duh,"

"STUPID!" everyone shouted, making me flinch.

"Well, we're gonna tell ya son," Tye said, ignoring my  compliants.

Hours passed with all the guys telling me what girls were like. How they dress, their insecurities, how to comfort them- and especially how to be romantic. Everything seemed so stressful.

"Wait seriously?! I have to do all that romantic stuff?" I asked Tyler in amazement while they all nodded with a smirk.

"The more you know dude. The more you know," Bryan said with a shake of his head.

"Damn, girls are so confusing," I muttered.

"Also! Don't ever say that in front of a girl, it's gonna piss the hell outta them," Adrian laughed. "Okay . . . ," I mumbled.

"Also if a girl isn't in a good mood, it doesn't always mean that she's on her period," Logan added.

"Okay okay! I've had enough about this, girl talk or whatever,  my head is killing me."

"Alright then, well, I'm going back to my dorm now. Cya dudes," Bryan waved and walked out with a bag of goldfish in his hand.

"Yup, I feel like I'm going to collapse any minute now so I'm heading back to my dorm too. Buh bye my son," Logan chuckled with his 'best' fatherly voice.

A few more hours passed with Adrian, Tyler and I watching a football game, as always, Adrian kept getting up and going to the kitchen to get snacks.

"Yall Imma hit the hay," Tyler yawned and stood up stretching.

"You gonna take a shower bro? Cus I need to unload all the gold " Adrian said while shaking his head.

Tyler looked at him with a disgusted face.

"Yea I'm gonna take a shower before the bathroom stinks."

"I already took a shower so I'm going to sleep, g'night mutts," I said before walking to my room.

"Cya lover boy," The boys said in unison, I rolled my eyes and shut the door to block out their snickers.

I rested my head and thought about how the date would go. All the thoughts were cut off as I drifted off to sleep.
