--Indistinct Whistle—
Panting and more puffing, the game of tag continued the chase. It was on a secluded alley, where a group of rushing boys, trails behind the petite woman. The whistle blow continued, but this did not stop the race. The campus guard tried to keep up with them yet not long then he gave up on his weight.
And on a meter away, comes a busy street filled with overflooded citizens. Cabs traversing the roads and surely was a hustle day. Shortly afterwards, the juvenile delinquents have reached the public. It was so crowded, but still they managed to trace their prey. Yet apparently they're now losing strength and so, they paused.
"(Panting) This is sh*t, men! Maybe… maybe we should just let her go," Robert suggested as he shorts in breath.
"Yeah," his peers agreed.
"Shut the f*ck up assholes! We are not losing that b*tch and we are not letting her go. That b*tch is a little freak genius and she'll never let this pass!" Oliver pressed them.
"But the b*tch's too fast, Oliver. Ho-how are we gonna catch up to her?" Robert complained.
"I don't know, but if we let her go… we'll be good as dead, idiots. You get it? Dead! And I am not letting that happen." Oliver swears. "So, ya'll with this? Or each of us will get a detention remark?"
"(Exhales) alright man, let's go!" Robert finally decided.
The boys continued their pursuit, being afraid to be reported for delinquency violation within campus grounds. Yet, Dwaine is already a couple of blocks away and now it's much harder to reach. To their anguish, they forced themselves through the crowd ignoring who might get hurt. Seeing how far Dwaine have run, Oliver devised a plan to catch up with her.
Quickly, Oliver called for a nearby cab and together they rode, telling the driver to follow Dwaine. The cab was so fast and Dwaine was overrun. Dwaine saw this and took a different route. Oliver seeing this too, immediately stopped the car and jumped over the window pane. The rest followed and Robert, who was the last to get out, got to pay the bills.
Oliver's pack was almost reaching when Dwaine suddenly thought of a crazy idea. To her wits and knowledge, she crossed the recently green lit pedestrian lane and camouflaged with the crowd. The boys followed yet still at a disadvantage. They were so busy at evading the public and when they finally went through, they saw Dwaine ahead waiting for them in the corner. She smirked at them and instantly entered a public establishment.
The boys continued to follow her without even knowing what lies in there. And when they entered, Dwaine was no longer present. Not long and they've heard footsteps rushing up the stairs. They looked upward and spotted Dwaine climbing the second floor. And Robert, who was left behind finally reunited with his group. But when he saw the stairs, his face turned very pale.
"F*ck..." Robert cussed feebly.
Oliver move on ahead and the rest followed. While Robert, who was so doubtful about this, takes a deep breath and slaps his face. His method worked, and now he's finally back on the run. But Dwaine keeps on climbing and the boys were almost wearing out.
Minutes after and Dwaine finally reached the top. It was a dead end and there was no way out. Not long and Oliver's team likewise arrive the rooftop. They were heavily panting and were awfully drenched in sweat.
"(Panting) There's no way out, freak...! (Heavily breathing) Now give in...!" Oliver shouted at her.
"(Heavily panting) Yeah...! You're dead b*tch! It's over!" Robert added.
--Everyone's Heavily Panting--
"Oh, is that you Robert? (Scoffs) you haven't ran before, do you?! Your face... it's all sweat and its awful!" Dwaine provoked Robert.
"F*ck you, b*tch! F*ck... you...!" Robert cussed at her.
"Now give in, freak! (Panting) there's nowhere to run!" Oliver continued.
Dwaine, ignoring them step backwards and takes a look at the possible safe escape route. She looks below and found out that she only has two options. One, if she'd take the smooth fall she'll resort jumping into the dump truck. And two, if she wants it sanitary, she'll venture out a long ten meter jump down to the next lower building.
"(Scoffs) what? You're gonna jump that, freak?! It's useless! You'll only fall before you could even reach that next building! So, give it up...!" Oliver underestimated her.
"Say, if I jump, will the rest of you will jump too?" Dwaine asked them.
"Hell no you're gonna jump that b*tch! You're a freak!" Robert insulted her.
--Everyone Laughed—
"Then what if I am, Robert? Will you jump?" Dwaine repeated her question and this silenced everyone. She slowly moved five steps backwards and prepared for the timing.
Oliver noticed this intent and in an instant, "f*ck she's jumping men, let's get her!" Oliver commanded his peers.
They tried to catch her but in the blink of an eye, Dwaine suddenly run fast as she could and forced her way through the ten meter jump skipping to the next building. The fall was breath catching and she might not make it to the rooftop. The boys were left at the edge of the building while they watched the dangerous stunt. Their eyes went wide and each hold on to their breaths.
It was almost there, and thankfully, Dwaine successfully made it to the next rooftop. She stumbled from the crash and end up kneeling on the surface. The bullies could not believe this and it stunned them greatly. And as she recovered, she stood up to face the rascals. Then unpredictably, Dwaine raised an arm and bid them a fuck sign.
"Eat this, assholes!" Dwaine shouted.
"You can't get away with this, freak!" Oliver shouted back.
"Yeah! I'll add you on the list, Oliver!" Dwaine mocked him.
"F*ck!"
Oliver's team gave up and Dwaine continued to escape from danger. She went to the edge of the building and saw an exit ladder folded at the wall. She takes on it and shortly, she finally get to leave from the building. She went back to the main street and proceeded to her job.
Dwaine pass through a few blocks and made a cross at the wide pedestrian lane. It was getting late, but the people are still hurrying to and fro. She helped herself way through the crowd and finally arrived at her destination. And up ahead is a historical museum already closing its doors.
"Hey, Mr. Wurm, wait!" Dwaine called out to the old man closing the doors.
"Why, it's just you Ms. Kingsleigh." The old man was surprised.
"Yeah... Good evening," Dwaine greeted.
"Good evening. Well... aren't you on a night shift again?" Mr. Wurm asked.
"Yes, Mr. Wurm. And I'm ready to start." Dwaine replied.
"Good. Now come in." he allowed her to enter.
"Thanks!"
"My pleasure."
Dwaine enters, and the old man closed the doors. She then proceeds to her locker room to change her clothes and leave her belongings on safety. Dwaine was late and others have already started cleaning. And on this particular evening, she was assigned on an important task to comply.
Quickly, she changed into her sweep uniform and put on a mask. She then went to her senior sweeper and got instructed to clean the core most part of the historical museum. Right away she followed and brought with her a vacuum and a feather duster. Looking at the museum, Dwaine noticed that in that specific evening, the premises are even tightly secured. There were several armed security guards and no post was left unmanned.
Dwaine looks more around and got mesmerized by the various artifacts and pure gemstones that were newly displayed that evening. She was left in blank for a second and the security guards noticed this right away. They were about to tick her off when suddenly, Mr. Wurm passed by and saw Dwaine blocking the way.
"Time is ticking fast, Ms. Kingsleigh." Mr. Wurm whispered to her.
"(Gasped) Gosh, Mr. Wurm, you scared me." Dwaine was surprised.
"I like your admiration to the new displays Ms. Kingsleigh, but I think you should better start working while it's still early." Mr. Wurm reminded her of her duties.
"Yes, I'm on it Mr. Wurm. But a…"
"Tick-tock, tick-tock Miss Kingsleigh. Your time is running fast." Mr. Wurm disrupted and left her behind.
Dwaine took the advice and began to start cleaning. She went first with the paintings, then to the glass boxes, and lastly to the edges. Afterwards, she turned on her vacuum and sweeps all of the debris that fell on the floor. The sweeping continued and hour later, she finished vacuuming.
Next, she took the mop and brushed the entire floor. Then after which, she carried back a blower and patiently dried the wet surface. And it was now around seven pm until she finally finished. Thirty minutes more and the guards suddenly changed their positions. This startled Dwaine and right now, more guards have gathered in the center. This intrigued her and so she decided to ask.
"Sir, is there something so important that is much significant than the rest of the items here?"
"Everything is important here, kid. But one thing lies there that needed extra protection. And that is the Rock." The guard explained to her and pointed his fingers to the jagged lifeless rock displayed at the center most part of the items.
"Well, that doesn't seem worth protecting Sir. I mean… you know… the looks of it." Dwaine underestimated the worth of the jagged Rock.
"See what lies therein, kid. Not there out." He briefly explained.
"Hmm… I don't get it. (Sighs) (Stretches and yawned) thanks anyway, Sir."
"Sure, kid."
Dwaine gave up and went back to her locker room. She was so tired and it's good to know she accomplished it earlier than expected. She opened the closet, and unexpectedly, a photograph fell down from the compartment. She picked it up and looks at it closely.
"(Sniffs) (cries softly) I'm so sorry… (Sniffs)"
A tear fell from her cheeks and she was reminiscing bad memories from her head. Not long and she noticed this and quickly wiped off the tears that was messing on her face. She puts back the photograph and immediately took her clothes to get changed.
Afterwards, Dwaine went to the mirror to fix herself. She brushed her hair, puts on the hoodie, and took her backpack. Dwaine was ready to go and she left the staff room. When she got out, it was so silent than usual. Then suddenly, a short thump echoed through the hall.
"What the- hmm…." she noticed this and tried to ignore it first, yet more thumps came adding.
To her concern, she began to feel suspicious. So, right away she went back to the center hall and shortly arrived at the door. She was about to open it, and all of a sudden, she realized what ought to be done without endangering herself.
Using her knowledge, Dwaine sneaks in into the audio-visual room that was just beside the center room. She knows too well that one of its doors will automatically lead to the crime scene. So, carefully she entered and went straight to the door that leads to the next room.
'SH*T, NOT THIS AGAIN.' (Dwaine thought)
She opened it and shockingly, all of the guards are already unconscious on the ground. She checks on them, but there was not even a trace of strangulation or wounds. She also tried to investigate the air, yet nothing seems to be poisoning them. This confused her and not long then she found dirty footsteps left on the newly polished floor. Her eyes widened and thought.
'WHAT THE- BUT I JUST CLEANED UP! O, COME ON!' (Dwaine thought)
"Urgh!" she let out an agitated complain."(Exhales) but thanks to you, I get to know where to find you."
Dwaine observed the footsteps and concluded that the intruder might be a tall muscular person with a big foot. To her curiosity, she tried to follow the tracks and find her way to the core most part of the museum. And ahead she immediately saw the thief. The thief moved and swiftly she hid her presence. She steals a look at him again and surprisingly this thief truly has a big foot yet too slender for the size.
The thief is so tall like an NBA player would. But he bears an unproportionate body of a thin man. He was covered in black protective armor and wears a heavy geared boots with awesome technological gauntlet like the one in sci-fi movies do. He hides his face with an unusual cool helmet and it has long broad antennas attaching down on the back.
'WAIT, ARE THOSE… EARS?' (Dwaine thought)
Observing from afar, the thief aimed for the jagged rock that was within the center of the display. And still until now, Dwaine do not see the value in it. And only saw the item as another ordinary rock placed in a crystal box. Knowing this intent, she then initiatively took her phone to call the police. Unfortunately, she didn't bring her phone.
"Urgh! REALLY! Why of all days, Dwainey?" she blamed herself.
By and by, the thief began his mission. Dwaine takes a look at this and saw an unbelievable trick. The thief was kind of using this device that creates small white electrical vortexes that steals things without even opening the crystal box.
'(GASPED) DID HE JUST… TELEPORTED THE ROCK?!? NO, SH*T! I'M PROBABLY HALLUCINATING AGAIN.' (She thought)
"Urgh! Wake up crack head, wake up!" she whispers slowly.
Dwaine tried to wrestle with her disorder and pinched herself thinking it might work. But when she opened her eyes again, the thief was still there and he was holding out his highly technological device floating in the air. The thief is almost finishing his mission and the last thing to do, is to put up a replica of the jagged rock back to the display to prevent sending out the alarm.
'NO I'M NOT GOING OUT THERE. THAT'S IT DWAINEY YOU HAD ENOUGH OF YOUR ADVENTURES AND THIS IS THE END OF IT. F*CK!' (Dwaine thought)
It was almost through, when unexpectedly, Dwaine run from behind and swung a javelin right at him. The man was hit on the head and the rock slipped from his hands. Likewise the replica failed and the alarm went wild.
--Alarm Distressing—
Suddenly, the safety cages went blocking the doors. There was no way out and Dwaine and the thief are both imprisoned in the cell. The guy was about to recover when Dwaine tried to land another swing. But this time, the thief predicted the action and unluckily, he blocked the attack. Then immediately, the thief sends his counterattack and hit Dwaine's legs which made her stumble on the floor.
To Dwaine's instinctive approach, as she falls, she managed to hit the javelin again on the thief's shoulder and he too got nailed on the ground. Dwaine hit her chest and was unable to move for a second. The thief saw this advantage, and tried to knock her off with a kick. But swiftly, Dwaine flipped beside and evaded this critical hit.
Quickly, they both stood up and tried to land a punch against each other. The punches impacted and Dwaine felt an electricity crawling up into her bare hands. It was so painful and she would almost shout. But instead, she shook it out and gradually the pain recovers. But the thief continued to attack her as she likewise evaded it. And when she finally recovered, she focused all of her senses and attempted to hit the soft spots of the suit.
--Choked--
The plan worked and the thief was distracted by his injured throat. Now as for Dwaine this gave her an opening and without a second to waste, she lands a lethal knee kick to the culprit's chin. The thief was trampled down and his helmet flung off from his head. Dwaine took the knight's javelin again and aimed it out to the defeated thief.
Dwaine looks at his face and shockingly, she saw a headed rabbit. His face skin where covered in rabbit fur, whiskers extending beside his nose, ears long proportioned to his head, and has a monocle on his right eye.
'(SCOFFS) IS HE MESSING WITH ME?' (Dwaine thought)
"Take off your mask, rabbit face!" Dwaine ordered him.
"Foolish human, this is my face! And I'm a Bunnyterrian fool. Not a foolish rabbit you call to rodents who crawls on the mud, idiot." the rabbit man talks back.
"You're a what?! And what the- did you just talk?!?" she was surprised.
"I'm not a mute, pompous! Now get out of my sight or I'll eliminate you."
"Talk tough when you're already pinned down on the ground, rabbit head!"
"Then you leave me no choice."
Automatically a machine went out from the rabbit's device and shot an electric shock wave aimed directly at Dwaine's body. She flung off away from the rabbit man and this paralyzed her. And so the thief had the opportunity to escape. By and by, the police raided in and reached the center most premises of the museum. They disabled the security fences and in there they found Dwaine helplessly lying on the floor, paralyzed as she takes hold of the precious jagged rock.
"You are under arrest. Now, take her!" the senior police declared his orders and his men caught her.
"No, wait! It's not what you think!"
