Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 Eric's POV

When I came to, I was shocked to find Talia and Natalie on either side of my bed. My hair had grown out longer and they were stroking it which made me wonder how long I was out for. As they sang, I felt slightly calmer until Annabelle came in. "Are you awake?" she asked to which I replied "As you can see. If I may ask, what's with your lackeys? They're clinging too much" but she just smiled "What do you remember?" A new voice asked "Who are you?" I asked back "Delphine" the voice answered back and a girl I was sure I had never met came into view "Now if you wouldn't mind answering my first question" she finished and I answered "Nothing much. The last thing I remember was giving control over to the voice" "So he completely blocked out your consciousness" Annabelle pointed out to which I asked "Who?" Delphine took up the reply "Your brother. Your twin to be precise" "Twin?" I asked, obviously confused but Delphine continued "When you were to be born, you were to be born as twins but your brother didn't have a definite form. You, who had a form, was really frail that it wasn't clear if you would have survived so your twin fused you two into a single body. You couldn't access your full abilities because upon birth, someone sensed that you were a high level Irregular and so sealed your powers to prevent you going out of control. Who would have known that the seal didn't affect the one inside of you". I then asked "I don't remember ever having met you before, so how do you know everything about me and my abilities?" She then replied "I am an Irregular that is capable of seeing the past relating to anyone I want to. I like to think of myself as not being your usual Irregular". Just then, the teachers who received word that I was awake came in to check on me and Delphine suggested we continue the conversation some time later. After answering a few questions, I was discharged and returned to normal school life. Some days after, I was called into the offices to meet Annabelle already waiting inside. There, we were informed that we were to be assigned a rescue mission for a captured Irregular. I was surprised because a student's first mission is usually supervised and it was supposed to be my first but I was told that I was to support Annabelle in the mission and since she was already experienced enough to go on a solo mission, she could as well serve as a supervisor for me while I gain experience. On that note, I accepted and excused myself. On getting outside, I was accosted by Delphine who asked "You were given a mission, right?" "Yes" I answered and she said "I have to return to my academy also. To that end, I think we had better finish our discussion of the last time". We walked some distance until we found a bench where we sat to finish up the discussion and she said "I'll give you this warning. Be careful of the way you share with your twin" "Why?" I asked her and she answered "The power he used does not only block your consciousness, but it seems to erase it. Given enough time, he would eventually take full control of your body and at that time, you will cease to exist" "What is your suggestion?" I asked "How do I stop him from taking control?" She answered me "The best option is to find a way to separate you both but that will warrant you first finding a way to undo the seal placed on you." "You mean--" I started to say but she cut me, saying "You'll have to find the one that placed the seal on you and get them to undo it. I can't say more than that but note that that power you wield isn't yours. It belongs to the person inside of you so be mindful how you use it". After that, we discussed a bit more, I got to know her better and I got to know what happened after I gave over to my twin. Some time later, I went to Annabelle and we discussed plans for the mission.
