They found some shade inside an old abandoned treehouse, not far from the cemetery.
Jeremy still kept a safe distance from the strange looking woman who just heaved. "I can understand your worry and distrust but to be honest,that is absolutely the last thing we need right now if we are to get a shot at defeating Xersius." Kessina said and somehow caught Jeremy's interest.
"Xersius is the one responsible for the powers you now possess." She said,not really answering the question.
"You might want to take a seat while I explain." She suggested and Jeremy obliged but still kept his guard up.
"Xersius is an alien to earth, he is from my planet, Xanton. Xersius was a most successful scientist while in Xanton, he helped create many of the technological success we experience now so he was well celebrated but he was never contented. Xersius did not just want fame or respect, he secretly craved power and he went out of his way to get it." She said and paused to take a look at the earthling. Once sure she had his attention, she continued.
"He is the problem to our king and dare I say,my uncle. He secretly devised a mind control weapon, one which he would use to overthrow my father and become the king of Xanton. Fortunately for all of us,he was caught before he could finish the device.
My betrothed, Zero who was an apprentice under him noticed he was up to something suspicious and so her told me. Though I refused to believe it at first,I eventually agreed to do a little investigation with him and soon found out that he was right. I told the truth about him to my father and also provided reasonable evidence. He was charged with treason and managed to escape our home planet with his device. He has been detected on earth and I was sent to apprehend him but I got here and tracked him down,I found out a more shocking truth. Xersius has finished building his device and has used it on himself, destroying it afterwards. He plans to have all humans under his control and rule over the earth as king. Seeing as it would be impossible to gather all the humans in one place and hypnotize them to his will,he plans to create an army of superhuman weapons. He is currently kidnapping and hypnotizing earth scientists. He is hopeful one of them will be able to create a sort of mutagen to enhance their DNA and give them superpowers. He puts them under his control afterwards and like that build an army to easily defeat your armed forces and have all the world leaders and the rest of the humans surrender and become ready to be willingly hypnotized and under his control."Kessina explained and Jeremy couldn't hold back his laughter.
"Sorry, that just sounds like something from a science fiction movie. Look,I don't think I can believe anything you're saying right now and personally, I think you need help." Jeremy said and Kessina frowned, this was serious.
"This is no joke,earthling." She retorted.
"The name's Jeremy and quit messing around already. Go find someone else to bother, I'm currently grieving over the death of my mentor." Jeremy said and Kessina bunched her fists.
"It is up to you to believe me or not but evaluate this. Did you not get your powers by being injected forcefully with a weird chemical mixture?" Kessina asked and Jeremy remembered that day like a flashback.
"Yes,I was but what do I have to do with all this?" Jeremy asked, he was starting to believe what this strange lady was saying.
"You are the only one who can stop him,you are genetically enhanced and so have the powers to stop him. You only need to be trained properly on how to use your powers." Kessina instructed.
"But why do I have to stop him? You know him better, you're from the same planet as him. I mean,he's even your uncle so it'll be easy for you to defeat him. So why include me?" Jeremy questioned
"Do not ever refer to him as my uncle ever again, he is only a traitor that is yet to be punished. Now to answer your question, I would have done it alone but I cannot as I am in the atmosphere of earth. You might not know but your atmosphere is protected by tiny,microscopic devices you might refer to as nanoites. They are present in the air and prevent against alien activity." Kessina said and Jeremy cocked his head in confusion.
"Please translate into English that I can understand." Jeremy said,rather skeptically and Kessina pulled an apologetic look.
"I am sorry, I have only just downloaded the format of your language,so I can only speak formally. What I just said in simpler English is,I lost my powers the moment I stepped into earth's atmosphere. Xersius also did and so the only power he currently possesses his mind control and thus,I am powerless and will be unable to defeat him. Luckily, my enhanced senses still work and so I was able to track you due to the difference in your DNA, it was a faint lead but I was still able to find you, and at the right time." Kessina said and Jeremy frowned,standing up.
"How is this the right time? Didn't you just hear what I said, my mentor died just recently." Jeremy said and Kessina shook her head.
"Now is no time to be weak,we must act now. What I feared most is going to happen in a few weeks. Xersius is going to summon a comet,I can feel the energy flow. And with that comet, he will absorb it's energy and gain much more power than he formerly possessed and your world as we know it is likely to come to an end. All the people you love will be destroyed and all because you did nothing." She warned and a dreary sense of fear bestowed him.
