"Earth to Thea!!"
I blink several times as I see Ari wave her hand in front of my face, breaking my attention from my psychotic mother and her evil mind games.
"Sorry!! You were saying something?"
I didn't miss the way her face dropped for a second before she forced on a smile. "It's nothing important, don't worry. Where's your mind been? You've been out of it all day. You didn't even know that we already arrived at your place."
"It's nothing. What were you saying earlier? I'm sorry I wasn't listening." I said.
She looked at me skeptically for a few minutes before letting out a sigh. "Are you keeping something from me, Thea?"
"No, I'm not." I let out a frustrated sigh, massaging my temples. "I can't tell you now, Ari. It's all too complicated. Once I'm through with it, I'll let you know. I promise."
She wrapped her arms around me in a comforting hug. "I'm here for you anytime, girl. You know that, right?"
I nodded before smiling at her. "Right."
