At the sound of my voice, Nolan looked down at me, revealing his red-rimmed eyes, purple bags under them, and his face flushed. He ran towards me like a chicken looking for shelter from the rain. He stumbled over his feet, causing him to crash into me.
"Woah! Are you okay?" Uncle Dan asked as he tried pulling him up. He turned to me. "Do you know him? He reeks of alcohol. How did I not notice it earlier?"
I massaged my throbbing temples as I surveyed the damage done in my room. Not much is amiss except for the precious family picture my mother kept at the corner of the room.
I looked at Nolan to see his eyes closed and his body slumped against Uncle Dan. What happened to him? I've never seen him lose his cool before. I moved closer to him as I pulled his head up. He really does reek of alcohol and a lazy smile stuck on his face. "Hey, Athena!!"
"Is that not Aiden's friend?" Dad asked.
