Chapter 6 - 6 Catch him!

Jake's body was levitating on the air. Fire, Water, Earth, Lightning, Mud, Lava, Nature, Wind, Light, Sound, Shadow and Dark Elements surrounded his body. He looks like a God. A God that could control Elements!

The excruciating pain that Jake's felt was subsiding slowly.

Jake was screaming like a mad man at first, but now, he was groaning but he could still feel the pain. It was like his organs and bones want to come out all at once.

The pain subsided eventually.

Jake laid on the ground unconscious.

"Jake! Jake! Wake up! Help is on the way!" Sergeant Bark called out Jake's name to wake him up. He tap his face hard pulling Jake out from his unconscious state.

Jake slowly opened his eyes. Sergeant Bark saw Jake moved a limb and he smiled.

"Oh Thank God!" Sergeant Bark thought happily and sighed in relief

"Are you alright, Jake?" Sergeant Bark asked Jake.

Jake rose up in a sitting position. He then recalled what happened earlier. His eyes widened and looked at Sergeant Bark's bloody state. He freak out and helped his Sergeant out.

"Sergeant!" He grabbed his Sergeant's arm and helped him to get to sit up and leaned on the wall.

"You're bleeding. You are losing blood. I'm going to get some help. Wait for me, Sergeant." Jake said worriedly and attempted to run but Bark grabbed Jake by the arm.

"Don't go! There are still many monsters in the cave. You won't survive if they attack you. Just stay here and wait for the rescue." Bark looked at Jake sternly while saying those words. Jake shook his head.

"And wait for you to bleed to death? I'm sorry for disobeying you, Sergeant but I'm not letting you die here inside." Jake grabbed Bark's hand and put them down gently.

Bark smiled and let out a chuckle.

"You are sure brave! Kind and Smart. I'm so proud that you'd become my Miner..." Bark heaved a sigh and looked down.

"... That's why I don't want you to die. I'll be good as dead as soon as you led the Rescue Team here anyway." He laughed.

"So please, Stay with me until I breathe my last breath, Jake." He added sorrowfully.

A tear escaped from Jake's left eye and looked at Bark quietly.

"Alright." Jake don't want to disobey and fail his Sergeant's last wish/command.

Jake sat down, legs crisscrossed and faced his Sergeant. He smiled at Bark.

Bark felt warmth in his heart when Jake did what he commanded. "Thank You."

"Surely, you want to talk about something right?" Jake joked easing the sorrow in Bark's face.

Bark laughed. "Yes. Yes... Alright." He stopped and looked at Jake for a few seconds.

"Do you know why I cared about you more than anyone else?" Bark asked. "Is it because I have this special ability?" Jake answered. He thought its weird for his Sergeant to ask such question but he answered the most possible answer.

People tends to care to those people who have capability and talents. And so, Jake found what he answered might be the reason why Bark cared about him so much more than other Miners of his team.

Bark chuckled.

"Yes, that is right but no. That is the other reason, the real reason is..." Bark paused, thinking if he should say it.

"Its because you look like my son. You reminded me of him." Bark's voice started to get low. He held his broken back in pain and tried not to shout. With cold sweat on his forehead, he catch his breath slowly.

He regained himself after that and calm down but one could see, he's getting weaker and weaker.

Jake worriedly held his Sergeant's hands.

"My son died when he was 10. I was working in the military that day. He wanted to follow me back in the Base because he wanted to see other soldiers like me. I let him. He was so happy pointing and looking at the soldiers around him. But that time, the Magitroms attacked and fired a energy cannon at our base. Our Base exploded along with my son. With my special high physique, I was the only one left. Everyone... everyone in the Base died including my son. I hated Magitroms since then. I want to kill them so much!" Bark couldn't help it and cry. He remembered the pain, the heartbreak he felt when his son died. The anger. It all came back.

Jake bowed his head and rubbed his Sergeant's shoulder. Bark held his sorrow and tried to continue.

"When my wife knew what happened, she was so upset. She loathed me after that and we divorced. The pain made me suffer. Since the day he died, I blamed myself for his death even until now. After those years, I found you. You came. You lit my dead, dark and Ice cold heart. I wanted to hug you so much because you look like my son so much. I just missed him so, so much. I knew that you weren't my son, that's why I didn't kept you. I made you my Miner and a student. I don't want anyone to notice you. I don't want any greedy people to notice your talent. Why? Because it is unnatural. No human have that ability. You are the only one who has that. That's why I protected you and trained you. And I'm so proud that you'd became a person like you are now. Kind, Smart, Brave and selfless. No one could heal this heart but you filled my bereavement for my son. Thank you- ARGH!" Bark shouted.

The wound on his back expanded.

He coughed up blood and dropped on the ground.

"Sergeant!" Jake's heart skipped a beat and held Bark's shoulder. "Hang on, Sergeant! Hang on!" Tears were pouring down on Jake's cheeks.

"J-jake... This might be s-selfish of me... I want to ask y-you something..." Bark forced himself to speak up even though its draining everything of him.

"No, no..." Jake knew that his Sergaent is forcing himself to speak up and so he shook his head. He thought that Bark might die soon and so he nodded. He wanted to hear what's Bark's last wish.

"P-please... get stronger... stronger than anyone else. Magic is controlling over humanity, that is why we greed power. Its time to show that Magic should not be in control of Humans, but we, Humans should control Magic. P-promise me, you will rule this world with your own Magic, t-those what I taught to you, your ability and your attitude, that is your magic. Rule the world with that magic and share it... change the world..." As he muttered those words, more blood kept gushing out from his mouth.

Jake burst into tears and called his Sergeant's name.

"Bark!"

Bark let out his last breath and Jake's heart broke.

Jake felt Bark's pounding heart stopped and his chest stopped rising. He don't know what to do. He stared at Bark's body with a face full of snot and tears.

Jake's felt intense sadness and sorrow for the second time. Bark was the only person that acted as parent when his parents died. Now, his second parent died in front of him. His parent died again.

Light touched Jake's back and Jake felt that warm touch.

He looked behind him and saw a greenish-yellowish light. He saw where the light came from. It came from a crack on the wall.

He went near it and he felt warm and energetic. He suddenly thought of something. A Magic Orb!

He took the Golden Orb on the ground and tried to use its power. To his shock, the orb released a Golden glow and turned into a Golden light that went inside his forehead.

Lightning sparks kept appearing on his arm.

He was dumbfounded but an emergency is an emergency. He needs to ignore this first, if he wanted to save Bark.

He pointed his fingers like a gun and fired multiple of lightning bullets on the wall. The wall was destroyed completely revealing a very large yellow-green orb inside.

It was 10 times bigger than Bark's Orb!

Jake guessed that it is a Grade A Healing Magic Orb.

He looked at the orb and saw a Green Butterfly flying inside. He was mesmerized but he had no time for this kind of things.

He touched the Orb and it glows. Just like the Golden Orb, it became a yellow-green light and went inside Jake's forehead.

This time, words were displayed and announced inside his head.

[Grade A: Healing Magic Orb was obtained.

Ability: Mega Healing Butterfly]

Jake's head couldn't believe what was happening. Its unbelievable for him.

His eyes soon landed on Bark.

"Oh no!" He panicked.

He immediately ran towards Bark and put both off his palm on Bark's chest.

"Please! Bring Sergeant Bark back! Mega Healing Butterfly!" Jake wished and chanted.

A yellow-green Butterfly mirage encompassed Bark's body. After 30 seconds, the mirage was gone.

Jake opened his eyes. Bark's body was still cold as ever. It had became a dead body. Jake shook his head relenting to give up.

He cast the ability but words suddenly announced inside his head.

[Healing Magic won't work on dead bodies.]

Jake cried. "No! No! Please! Heal him! Heal him!"

Jake repeatedly used the ability but those words kept popping up. Jake kept begging and begging, and kept using the ability again and again as the announcement kept popping the same time.

Before Jake's little fire of hope get extinguished, a new announcement popped up.

[Would you sacrifice the Grade A Healing Magic Orb: Mega Healing Butterfly, Accept punishment and Use 75 percent of your energy to bring the dead body back to life?]

Jake was puzzled. "If its the only way to bring him back. I'll accept it!" Jake didn't hesitate and agreed without thinking the consequences.

A White Orb came out from his forehead. Jake remembered it was the orb that he touched on the Altar. The Orb that was protected by a Magitrom.

The White Orb released the Healing Orb and it became a light again that went inside Bark's body.

A huge Mirage of the Mega Healing Butterfly appeared and it looks more realistic than the last time!

Jake's body felt wimpy as he landed on the ground. He looked at Bark.

"Sergeant..." Jake said weakly. What just happened made his body weak.

Hearing no response, he thought Bark was dead and what he had done didn't worked. He closed his eyes and let a tear dropped on the ground.

"Jake..." A soft voice echoed.

Jake opened his eyes and looked at Bark. Bark was looking at him. Jake cried seeing his Sergeant was alive!

Sergeant Bark was brought back alive!

Bark tried to stood up and went to pick Jake's body. He don't know what happened. He only remembered dying but now, he was alive. He couldn't believe it!

Noticing that Jake is the only one here, he thought, "He brought me back to life?"

He don't know how Jake did it but he knew Jake paid a big price for sure. He guessed this when he saw Jake's wimpy and weak state.

He was about to pick him up when he noticed an orb atop Jake's body. It was the Orb on the Alter earlier. He then guessed this is the orb that Jake used to bring him back to life.

After that loud noises appeared. A drill came out. Dust and smoke came flying.

Bark released a sonic forcefield to deflect the dusts. Jake weakly stood up.

"What's happening?" He asked Barked in a low tone.

With Bark's good eyesight, he could see people coming out from the massive, large hole on the wall that the massive drill made.

"The rescue team!" Bark positively said giving Jake hope and relief.

They're now safe. At least that's what they thought.

A man in a brown trench coat appeared when the dust were removed.

He looked at Jake grimly.

"Boss! He got the orb!" A scientist-looking guy in a white lab coat shouted. The tablet he was holding was beeping with red light.

He was pointing at Jake.

Bark frowned. Something is wrong. He thought.

"Catch him!", said the man in a brown trench coat.

"Jake! I need you to run now!" Bark growled his command.

Jake knew there is something wrong too chose to run.
