Chapter 20 - Chapter 19:Reaching the Canyon of Mist

Fumetsu woke early that morning and saw Lei practicing swords techniques that Arran taught him in an outer practice arena.

"Your good with a sword, but I want to see if you can hit me with your fists," Fumetsu said as he walked up to Lei, who stopped and put his sword away.

"What do you mean?" Lei said as Fumetsu put his hands behind his back and said, " A true hero must be skilled in both the way of the blade and the way of the fist. Arran has taught you how to use a sword well, and that is good. But now, I want to see if you can hit me with your fist. I will not attack you."

Arran nodded and threw his first punch at Fumetsus face. Bit Fumetsu dodged it in interest. Erikk and Tala'ran watched from afar as Lei continued to throw punch after punch, but Fumetsu would constantly don't them.

"Your friend must be a powerful Jed'tar." Tala'ran said Erikk looked at Tala'ran "what makes you say that?" Erikk asked confused

"it's very simple; your friends Kyi has not decreased since the fight, and Teleporter techniques use up a lot of Kyi."

Fumetsu stopped and grabbed Lei's blade before it hit him.

" Very good. Now let's go get the Wolfbanes blade," Fumetsu said as he let go of Lei's hand.

Tala'ran stood up and pointed eastern towards a misty canyon " inside that Canyon is the Wolfsbane temple, and this is as far as I will take you." Tala'ran said as he started to walk away

Lei ran over to Tala'ran and hugged him, and said, " I hope to see you again soon." The reality that he may never see his brother again comes to Lei all at once.

Tala'ran returned his brother's embrace then looked at Erikk " before you go, I have to speak with you in private." Tala"ran said

Erikk nodded and faced Fumetsu, who was concerned " I will only be a moment." Erikk said as Lei walked back to Fumetsu, and Tala'ran led Erikk a ways away.

"yes, what is it that you want to tell me?" Erikk said to Tala'ran as he took out the silk purple bag and gave it to Erikk. Who untied the black drawstrings, Erikk was silent for a moment, then looked at Tala'ran

"explain to me how you have the Rings of the Six of Legend and what you were planning to do with them?" Erikk asked, his voice holding back an intense rag.

Tala'ran fell to his knees " Sixteen years ago, a hooded figure with golden eyes, snow-white hair gave these and said that in sixteen years they would be a valuable resource of power. I did not know it until now, but he must have been speaking of now."

Erikk sighed " Fine; I forgive you. But it seems that your greed must have been part of Fates plan because now. Boy, I was hoping you could take these Rings to the one who forged them and. tell him to combine all six of the Rigs into one of ultimate power."

Tala'ran stood up and said, " you want me to see the Ringmaker on Eon."

Erikk nodded and gave Tala'ran back the bag

"go now; there is no time to lose," Erikk said Tala'ran bowed to Erikk and left

Erikk returned to the group and said, " we know where to go, so let go." As they walked towards the Cayon of Mist. Lei looked at Erikk " Master Newheart, may I ask you what are the Eltaree like?"

Erikk replied, " Well, the Eltaree are a race who worship the All-Mother and all come from a bloodline of great warriors who would give their lives to protect Tylingariea and the Multiverse." Lei could see a tear forming on Erikks face

"At least that is what they were before my father Zelgar; the dark twisted the hearts and minds of the few Eltaree that remain in the Forset of life with is now Th Twisted Woods." Erikk stopped when Lei said, " that is enough. I don't want to make you have to relive any dark memories."

Erikk nodded and pointed at the gaping maw of a vast canyon shrouded in a thick, eerie mist.

Lei could sense a presence that lay beyond the wall of grey mist. Erikk looked up and saw that night was coming" we best camp here, and It will do us no good to go into the Cayon at night," Fumetsu said as Erikk agreed, and with Lei's help, they set up camp for the night.

Midnight came, and Lei still could not sleep, so like he has been doing for the past few days, Lei picked up Bailfire and went a ways away and practiced.

But this night was different. Lei's heightened Vi'tearin hearing heard the sounds of distant drumming and an overwhelming chorus of howling

" Erikk, Fumetsu, get up! Wolfkin is coming from inside the Cayon, and there is a lot of them."

Erikk woke up then Fumetsu and looked at Lei

"are you.."

Lei nodded. "Yes, I am sure. Now great your weapons; they will be here any minute." Lei said, his voice panicked

Fumetsu looked at Erikk for a second opinion " The boy is right. Somehow they knew we were coming and are willing to attack us for what reason, I don't know."

As the drumming got louder and, louder Lei could make out through the mist what looked upwards. 200 Wolfkin their bodies were like Werewolves, and they wore vests made from those they had killed.

Erikk gripped the handles of his twin blades as the Blood Red Eyes, and the stone grey fur of the Wolfkin came into clear view.

Fumetsu gulped as in front of them was a Wolfkin larger than the others, his size that of a giant. The Drumming stopped once the behemoth who sat upon a massive throne being carried by the 200 Wolfkin in chains came into view in clear view.

Carefully the throne was set down, and the two hundred Wolfkin stood ready to fight

The Behemoth stared down at them with his Blood Red Eyes

" Puny Flesh-Creature, why do you dare to trespass upon my land." The Behemoth said

Erikk replied, not fazed by being called a Flesh-Creature, " We seek passage to the Temple that holds the Wolfbanes Blade."

The Bememeth laughed ' that place holds the sword no more. I do, and you will have to kill me and those I have brought to earn the right to wild its awesome power."

Lei smiled and said, ' Fine then, with one of them wants to die first."
