The friends were all getting tired from all the asking. Well, it wasn't the asking part that was tiring them out as they really cared about Aiden, rather it was his lack of response to their questions. Nonetheless, the friends didn't give up so easily.
To them, they could continue with the same passion for more than 72 hours if need be just to get something out of the silent Aiden who needed their help. To them, they were all patient with him and his needs because he would also do the same for them whenever they needed it.
Well, minus the hours of asking just for a response because unlike him the rest of them didn't know how to hold in their feelings and concern so well within themselves even in front of best friends!
So, even after more than two hours of over-enthusiastic questioning and encouragement, the five friends remained inside the room. Each taking a drink after another just for the sake of keeping sane. After all, not all friends would have the patience to deal with a person like Aiden Lee.
The man was currently moody to the max due to his extreme germaphobia, his lack of sleep for the past week, and now whatever or whoever just added more to his plate. Enough for him to disregard all the germs within the room and just drink non-stop for the past two hours.
Ji-Hoon and Fenhua were at the back trying to find other measures to get Aiden to talk while Xander and Liam were currently seated closer to Aiden trying hard to get him to talk.
Taking a glance at Aiden who was focused on his drinks more than the words of concern that his best friends were spouting, Fenhua couldn't take it anymore.
A part of him was nagging him that it wasn't 'something' that was bothering him but a person who was the cause of all this. From what he heard, Aiden was back to therapy for his insomnia. Perhaps…
Perhaps… the therapist said something to him. In that case…
Walking back to the sofa's, Fenhua looked straight at Aiden, and with a loud and concise voice, he yelled out, "Give us a name Aiden! We're going to give them a good beating!"
Aiden's body stiffened slightly as his hand holding the glass of whiskey stopped. He looked up at Fenhua and with very little motion in his voice besides the initial coldness, he asked, "You're going to beat them up?"
Fenhua froze. His whole body stiffened as he stared at Aiden as though he had discovered a very hidden secret. A secret that would explain why he was so upset despite being so strong.
If someone or something made him upset he COULD just get rid of it! Why? Because he had the power to do so!
He had the power to get rid of anyone and anything that was bothering him. His abilities gave him the power to do so and get away with it.
Fenhua started wrecking his brain for some answers as to why he would show a reaction with his words and not all the other words of concern that they had been spouting for the past two hours. While the three others got their heads around what was happening, Fenhua came to a conclusion.
'If it was a normal businessman or something else that was bothering him then he would've already punished them himself and not get so moody. He had been doing so for as long as I could remember so what happened?'
'He showed a reaction when I asked to beat them up… so is the person who made him upset someone he can't touch?'
'It might be the therapist... after all he is the only person who was able to get him to sleep at least a few times even if they came after long periods of time...'
Before he could open his mouth to say anything much, the other three started spouting nonsense. Well, he was going to say the same thing so it didn't really matter did it?
"Yes! We'll beat them to a pulp!"
"Just tell us the name!"
Hearing their words Fenhua immediately faced palmed himself inside his mind. 'I think we're gonna die soon...'
Nonetheless, the damage was done and they could only wait for Aiden to give them a reaction or … just continue drinking as though he heard nothing. Which he did.
He gulped down the rest of the whiskey in his glass before setting it down on the table and getting up to leave without a word.
The only words they heard from him as he left were his little farewell.
"No need. I'm leaving."
'So he didn't want us to beat the person up?'
'If so he cared about the person then why was he getting his *ss drunk over here?!'
'What the hell happened?'
The four friends silently drank to release the tension in their souls and to soothe out the worry they had for their friend. He was always a tough nut to crack…
'Why the f*ck did we become friends with him?'
As they drank in their quiet reverie, Aiden was walking in a daze towards a very familiar but also unfamiliar path. Making turns here and there whenever he felt like until he came to a room.
The number on room one overlapped with his memories. Though the amount of alcohol he drank was not enough to get him drunk, he was currently trying to lose himself, hence the alcohol had long overlapped with his own system. His mind was a little or rather more than a little hazed as he rang the doorbell of the hotel room door.
As though losing all his strength, Aiden leaned his head on the door and his hand on the doorbell rang one last time before it fell to his sides. Waiting for the door to open, Aiden got emotional.
He was really tired of all this.
'How long would it last this time? Why was it always me?'
His therapist's words rang within his mind as he waited in silence for the door to open.
"You said you let out a yawn when you were in the cafe with her?"
"Yes."
The therapist went silent for a few minutes before becoming firm in his decision.
"This might sound like a bluff as this has never happened before, but you said that you know her. You should find a way to sleep with her and see if she really is the cure, after all, she almost got you to sleep even when she was so far away."
Tears formed in his bloodshot eyes as he stared at the floor.
Not hearing the door click open, Aiden mumbled out, "I really want to sleep…"
When the door opened, his whole body fell on the young lady who opened the door. Aiden's words were clearly heard by her as well as his desperation from the drops of hot tears that fell on her neck.
Her eyes that went wide at his sudden presence went back to normal as she put a hand on his back and gave him a pat.
"Aiden?"
