Chapter 33 - 32. 'Doctor!!!'

Getting inside the building, Sophia was led to the topmost floor and into the CEO's office with Mr. Kinnely.

The room consisted of half the floor with ceiling windows on all three sides. Two sides covered by the curtains, leaving only one to bring in the bright morning sun. In front of that window, was the CEO's desk, and placed at the center of the room was a coffee table surrounded by black leather sofa's.

Mr. Kinnely sat on the single sofa at the head whereas Sophia sat on his left on a big black leather couch.

Once seated properly, Mr. Kinnely waved his secretary, Mr. Jason away, leaving only Sophia and himself.

Silence ensued across the big room. Sophia was sitting casually while Mr. Kinnely sized her up for a couple of minutes with his cold gaze.

"You're from Sugar Honies?"

"Yes, sir. My boss sent me here to make a deal with you. I wonder if you're willing to hear it out?"

Mr. Kinnely subconsciously straightened out his posture when mentioning 'Sugar Honies' and even slightly raised his brows. Sugar Honies wanted to make a deal with him?

His heart started racing as he thought of how the top mercenary group was seeking him out to do business with him! Of course he wanted to hear what they wanted to say!

Mr. Kinnely had heard of the many ways that Sugar Honies did their businesses. An unspoken rule that spread throughout the country was to never question them. They never make prior appointments before coming over to make a deal hence you just have to take a chance and not question them. In fact, there was no need to question them at all.

Anyone who blatantly comes over claiming to be from Sugar Honies is 99.9% of the time from Sugar Honies! No one dares to fake their identity as from Sugar Honies because no matter what, they wouldn't be able to afford the consequences of it. Also, besides the 0.1% they let through intentionally, the rest get their karma as soon as they decide to pretend!

Sugar Honies keeps an eye out for anyone and everyone that tries to borrow their name and to those they let through are specially ordered by the boss for a reason. Either they were really close to the boss herself, or… they have a deep enmity with the boss.

Regardless, whoever pretends to be from Sugar Honies meets their end when the time comes. Hence, there was no need to doubt their efficiency at all! When he received the message outside, he immediately decided to bring the young girl up for a talk under the pretext of dealing with something urgent.

"Since you were sent here without a prior appointment, I assume it's something urgent. There's no harm in hearing you out." Though his expression was composed and he looked rather cold, the slight hint of excitement in his voice revealed his true state of nature.

Sophia naturally caught it with her keen ears but decided to ignore this and just get to the point.

"Mr. Kinnely, my boss instructed me to propose a deal for you. We can provide you with information on Grey Corporation as long as you can give us 10% shares of Five Brothers and a $3 million dollars down payment. Of course, we don't have to remind you about smashing the Grey family and their corporation to the ground with this information, right?"

When Mr. Kinnely heard 'Grey Corporation', a cold glint passed through his eyes as he listened to Sophia more attentively. It didn't matter the amount of money he needed to pay for their destruction, as long as he could destroy them, a bright future awaited him.

10% of Five Brothers Corp. meant at least tens of millions of dividends every year. However, compared to destroying Grey Corporation and boosting their business prospects, giving this little amount of money was nothing!

The only reason his company lost compared to Grey Corporation was that the Grey family was going around bribing their future project holders and doing illegal business behind the scenes for them. However, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't find any evidence on them because they had protection from their business partners.

His throat ran dry and he felt an indescribable itch in his heart. He picked up a glass of water in front of him and drank a sip as calmly as he could. Although, his hands still shook and his eyes were rather dazed.

His thoughts ran back to how the Grey family would look once he destroyed them. However, he was still a little curious about why Sugar Honies was seeking him to do it for them. It seemed as though the Grey Corporation did something to offend them? Not being able to hold in his curiosity he decided to be direct. "May I know why Sugar Honies wants to destroy the Grey Corporation?"

"Mr. Kinnely, curiosity kills the cat. However, I can only say that they rubbed the boss the wrong way." Mr. Kinnely felt chills down his spine as he stiffly nodded his head.

"When can we complete this deal?" His voice was very eager and sounded slightly hoarse despite how fearful he was of her words moments prior.

"As soon as you can pay up and sign this contract." Sophia took a stack of papers out of her black briefcase and placed them directly on the glass coffee table.

Mr. Kinnely quickly picked up the contract paper and started reading it with excitement.

Several minutes later, the contract was thoroughly read and signed. Sophia and Mr. Kinnely shook hands and each took a copy of the contract.

Sophia then handed a thick yellow envelope to Mr. Kinnely and left the room. He waited until the door was properly closed before he opened up the yellow envelope. When Mr. Kinnely saw the things inside, his eyes shone brightly and his blood boiled.

As Sophia calmly made her way out of the building, the Grey family's ruin was being planned with full fervor.

The deal was done by eleven and Sophia reached the Frankly Hospital where Lillian and Rohan were staying, it was already half-past twelve in the afternoon.

Since it was lunch time, Luna made a trip to a restaurant nearby and brought food for both Rohan and herself. Lillian was on a hospital diet to prepare for the surgery.

Luna went up to Rohan's room first to see him and pick him up but he wasn't in the bed. She checked the bathroom and the other resting areas nearby but she still couldn't see him so she stopped a nurse in the hallway and asked about Rohan.

"Miss, he received his discharge papers an hour ago."

Luna thanked the nurse and watched her leave. Since Rohan had already gotten discharged he probably went to see Lillian ahead of her. Thinking so, Luna just brought the takeout with her and went into Lillian's room.

Since there was only about two hours left before her surgery time, the nurses were already getting her ready. There wasn't much they could do right now besides change her clothes and check on her IV. Lillian already had a new hospital uniform on and she was currently having her afternoon nap while a nurse checked on her IV.

Luna didn't want to disturb her so she went out to have her food. Coming back into the room half an hour later, Lillian was stirring in her sleep so Luna walked up to her and held her frail hands.

"Mother, I'm here. It's alright now." Luna gently patted Lillian's hands and said many comforting words to calm her down.

Seemingly not being able to fall asleep any longer, Lillian woke up in a few minutes with tears in her eyes. Luna bent down and hugged Lillian to calm her down. "Mommy, it's alright now. Everything will be fine, alright. Don't worry."

"My dear..." Lillian's voice was choked as though she couldn't bear to say anything. Luna frowned when she saw that but she just thought it was Lillian being scared of the surgery. As the mother-daughter pair were hugging, Luna felt Lillian shaking as though she was crying very hard.

Soon her breathing started to fasten and Luna couldn't ignore it any longer so she pulled back from Lillian to see what was happening.

Her eyes landed on Lillian's face that was flushed red with tears continuously streaming down her face. Her right hand firmly grasped onto the hospital gown on her chest as though the pain was there. She was also breathing very hard and the numbers in the monitor started spiking.

Luna let go of Lillian's hands and pressed the doctor's bell on top of the hospital bed. She held onto Lillian's hand and tried to calm her down. "Mommy the doctor will be here soon alright?"

"Mommy, please stay with me alright?"

"Mommyy..."

Lillian's pain seemed to worsen and the doctors were still not here yet! Not being able to take it any longer, Sophia yelled at the top of her lungs while staring at the door. "Where is the doctor? DOCTOR!!!"
