Kyle pulls me threw the door of his best friend house. Another party I'm required to attend due to being Kyles girlfriend and on the cheer team. The house is full of all the "cool" kids of our school, meaning the whole football team, all cheerleaders, and the few random dudes who are close to the football team. If you haven't noticed football is everything in this town. If you're on the team you can get away with anything in this town. And they only date cheerleaders if your not a cheerleader might as well not even bother. Which is why I'm stuck as being a cheerleader. Honestly I hate cheerleading and I hate football. Yes I said it I hate it all but like I've said before my life was chosen for me. So here I am pretending that I love football pretending that I love to be a cheerleader and pretending that all these annoying, babbling, fake girls are my best closest friends.
"Oh my you guys finally made it!" A high pitch voice greets us. I plaster the best fake smile I got on my face and say "of course we wouldn't be anywhere else!" like I had a choice. Kyle throws his arm around me and leads me to the couches, were everyone sitting. Everyone in this room comes from old money and lives in big fancy houses, again another reason I have no idea what Kyle sees in me. Tiffany walks up and runs her hand up Kyles other arm. "Great game tonight Kyle," she press against him, "you really got a killer skill." The way she says skill feels loaded, as if she is talking about more then just football. Now I should be jealous right wanting to pull her hair punch her in the face tell her to fuck off my boyfriend. But in all honesty, I really couldn't care. "Thanks Tiff," Kyle winks down at her. I remove my self from Kyle, "im gonna get a drink." I just see Kyle nod, his attention never leaving Tiffany.
We are celebrating the last game of our last year. We lost but no one here seemed to care. I walk into the kitchen to find few of the other player girlfriends chatting. Once they notice me they all quickly stop and look at me. Is that pitty in their eyes? What the fuck? I clear my throat, "Hey girls what's going on?" I say in my cheer voice. I call it my cheer voice because it's the same tone as all the cheerleaders and completely fake. "Oh hey, Jessica!" Jamie greets me with big fat fake smile and cheer voice. In our world we are all great friends but in realty we all hate each other. "So Jessica are excited for collage cheer camp this summer?" Amber asks me. Amber always been nice and different from the rest. I feel like she's living the same lie I am. "Ooh yeah cheer camp can't wait! I heard its at Grand Lake this year," I put my fake smile back on as I reach into the fridge. Collage Cheer camp is a must if I want to cheer at Jamestown collage but I wasn't even sure I wanted to. The deadline to turn in the paperwork is next week and it's still on my desk at home completely blank. I chat with the girls for little while longer talking about the game and who had the best prom dress this year. When I finally can't handle anymore I excuse my self, "well I'm gonna go back to Kyle, I'm sure he's wondering what's taking so long." As I turn to walk away, I feel a hand on my shoulder. I turn back around to see it's Amber. She looks conflicted and sad, "Amber don't!" Toni says threw gritted teeth. I raise an eyebrow looking between Amber and Toni. Amber looks down as if she's thinking it over, when she looks at me her eyes are filled with sadness and pitty. "Upstairs" she mouths to me, then her face completely changes, "we will see you later." She smiles but doesn't reach her eyes and turns back to the girls. The other are completely unaware that she told me upstairs and I was confused by it all.
I walk into the living room and look for Kyle. He's no where to be found. My eyes settle on Zak. Zak is one of those non football player cool kids. Zak looks at me then the stairs then at me again. Okay now I really wanna know what the hell is going on upstairs. I walk over to the stairs when I hear Kyles best friend, John, yell "I wouldn't go up there Jess." Well if that didn't make me want to go even more. I shoot up the stairs trying to figure out what everyone being so weird about. Then I hear moaning and Kyle's voice, "you like being fucked by me don't you?" What. The. Fuck. I follow the noises, at this point I should really just turn around and leave. But nope I had to see and boy did I. I throw open the door to James guest room and see my boyfriend pounding into Tiffany! "OH. MY. GOD. Are you fucking kidding me!?" I yell, all emotions have left me I can't feel a thing. Not anger or sadness or hurt, I stand there feeling nothing. Kyle's eye snap to me, "FUCK Jess! It's not what it looks like I swear!" He pulls out and faces me. I laugh at him, "It looks like your fucking Tiffany in Johns guest room," I raise an eyebrow daring him to try and call it anything else. He takes a step closer to me, "okay ya, but it doesn't mean anything. She's just a fuck, I love you." He looks at me with pleading eyes, like I should totally understand and be okay with it. "WHAT THE FUCK KYLE? HOW CAN THIS MEAN NOTHING TO YOU!? WE BEEN FUCKING ALL YEAR!" Tiffany begins to yell at him. He turns to her with an angry glare, "SHUT THE FUCK UP TIFF!" As Kyle yelling at her I spin on my heals and race down the stairs.
Everyone looking at me with knowing eyes. All these ass wholes knew! They all knew my boyfriend been cheating on me. I roll my eyes and head to the door pulling out my phone to text Kris to come get me.
"JESS WAIT!" I hear Kyle yelling but I don't stop or even acknowledge that I heard him. "DAMN IT JESSICA WAIT!" Kyle finally reaches me, he's shirt less and only wearing his jeans. His blonde hair sticking out from every direction, obviously from Tiffany's hands running threw it. He looks at me with his blue eyes, pleading with me, "don't leave baby. Come on you know she's means nothing. Your my girl not her. Come on back inside." Is this dude for real? Something inside of me snaps. For the first time I'm making my own choice, "You know what Kyle no. I'm not your girl. It over! I'm done. Have fun with Tiffany!" I see Kris turning on the street coming for us, 'Thank god.' Kyle taken back by my words, I'm pretty sure he's never heard the word no before. He shakes his head, his eyes filling with annoyance, "don't you think you're overreacting a little bit? Come Jess don't be saying shit you don't mean." I spin to look at him, anger pushing me forward, "Oh but I do mean it, Kyle. You and me," I point to him then me, "we are done. Over. History. FUCK OFF! Or better yet GO FUCK TIFFANY!" I get right in his face. This fucker thinking I'm over reacting. What bullshit. Kris pulls up next to us and rolls down the window, "need a ride bitch?" I climb into her passenger side and slam the door. "Whoa you okay?" She looks at me with raised eyebrow. "Drive." Is my only response. She nods and drives off leaving Kyle standing on the side of the road in nothing but jeans.
As soon as he's out of sight and we on our town main road, Kris asks me again "hey, you okay? What happened?" I suck in a big gulp of air and tell her everything. "WHAT A FUCKING ASS!" Kris yells after I tell her, "what are you going to do?" That's a loaded question and she knows it. Everyone going to expect me to forget and forgive then carry on like not a damn thing happened. Not this time. "It's over." Is all I say to her as we finish the drive to my house.
