After another half a month of waiting in meditation, Acheron was finally summoned by Elder Fei.
Of the ten candidates, only three remained, including Acheron. The other seven were either dead or soon to become servants in the Banyan Sect.
After they chatted for a few minutes, Elder Fei appeared.
"First things first. Here are your outer disciple tokens. You can use them to store points and access several facilities in the sect. Points are also stored on your alliance account. Now that you've been registered to the Banyan Sect's network, you can find out about any information you desire through your communication devices.
There is also a map of the sect present in your bracelet now. Use it to find your courtyard then hurry up to the technique library. On your first visit, you will be able to pick a total of three techniques." she explained. After saying all of that, she left.
Without even stopping to ponder anything, Acheron checked the map of the sect. Quickly locating the technique library, he zoomed towards it. Quality techniques were what he lacked the most.
As he passed by various building, Acheron noticed how beautiful and in-tune with nature all of the Banyan Sect's achitecture was. On the way, he also managed to see hundreds upon hundreds of unmaintained banyan trees, giving the sect a wild look.
After reaching the technique library, he opened the giant doors by hovering his outer disciple token over the entrance's security scanner. Inside, he quickly noticed a middle-aged man in green robes.
"What are the proceedings when choosing a technique?" asked Acheron.
"All of the books here merely contain introductions. Bring the technique you chose to me, then scan your token here. The technique will be sent directly to your bracelet. Go on ahead."
After searching for about three hours, Acheron finally settles on three techniques. One of them being a cultivation technique called the 'Profound Chaotic Canon'. It was a very difficult technique that could allow him to use any element with increased power. After all, the Chaos element contained all other elements.
The only problem was that it required extreme finesse in Qi control and ridiculous talent. This technique was purely theoretical. It has never been practiced by anyone before, according to the author's notes.
While he didn't have the confidence to cultivate it yet, that didn't mean he wouldn't have it in the future. Just breaking the second genetic lock should do it. Immediately after studying the other two techniques for a while, he would go out on an alliance mission in order to kill people.
The other two techniques were a combat technique and a movement technique respectively. The combat technique was called 'Banyan Devil Combat Art', and was one of the main techniques practiced in this sect.
Its main focus was absorption. Whenever the enemy was hit, their Qi and lifespan would get absorbed by the user, temporarily increasing their vitality, healing capability, and Qi reserves.
As for the movement technique, it was a bit special, and was called 'Eldrich Illusion Art'. This technique specialized in burst movement and illusory clones. Whenever a clone was hit by an enemy, the enemy would feel as if they were stuck in a quagmire, slowing down their movements momentarily.
The middle-aged man gave him a weird look when he noticed the title of the cultivation technique.
"This technique is known to cause cultivators' bodies to explode. You better be careful." he said. Regardless, he didn't stop him from taking it.
Acheron didn't answer, and after making sure all of the techniques were sent to his bracelet, he left.
Quickly reaching his courtyard, which was accompanied by a small banyan tree, he sat on the slightly wet grass and began going over 'Banyan Devil Combat Art'. It was a pretty complex technique, with focus on the wood element. It was best cultivated together with the 'Banyan Devil Cultivation Art'. This is what it's meant for, in the end.
After making sure he memorized and understood it completely, he silently begins to practice in his courtyard. It didn't take him too long to get the gist of it. The Qi circulation path was easily mastered by Acheron. With the only difficulty being in the body's movements.
He already had the habits of the lesser art he's previously learned, the 'Great Way of Water'. This made it very difficult for him to quickly switch to his new technique's movements.
There was also the ridiculous notion of combining them, a fleeting thought which he quickly dismissed. Combining two techniques is too much work. At least for the current him.
Acheron continued to train in his two new techniques. In this time, he also picked a mission from the alliance network. This mission required him to deal with two Spirit Transformation realm experts, so he naturally had to make sure he could beat them before leaving.
Acheron's training continued for two months. It continued until he realized he could complete the mission in another way. After that, he swiftly prepared to leave. His next destination, planet Volki.
His mission was to quell the war between two Spirit Transformation aboriginals, and make them submit to the alliance. He could also kill both of them, but that would give him a bad mark. It was best to keep at least one of them alive in order to conduct business.
After flying for what seemed like a day, Acheron manages to reach the spaceport. He quickly found his new ship.
His new ship was similar to Elder Fei's, but smaller. It also had a very dark green hue. To the point where it was almost black. Immediately setting up the security of this ship for his personal use, he takes off.
After exiting the Kor'Ton planet's orbit, he inputs the coordinates of Volki planet and sets off. It would be a fifteen day long journey.
Fifteen days later, he reaches the premises of planet Volki.
Soon after he scanned the planet, he enables his ship's stealth module and begins to land in a remote but strategic region. He made sure it would be close to a current battlefield.
The first part of Acheron's plan was to massacre both sides' armies and breaking through the second genetic lock.
