The cold, frosty and chilly environment. The beeping of the life-supporting machines. The lighting was amazingly impeccable, due to the sun and how the rays passed through the thin shutters and made their way to fill the room. A couch on one side across the elongated white bed. A small mahogany drawer with a lamp and a tissue box on the right side of the bed and a wooden chair on the left side of the bed where a beautiful woman was seated staring at the patient on the bed. The room had a certain smell to it, it was probably ethanol or spirits. It was situated near the far end of the hospital so not much noise could be heard.
Although the waves crashing onto the shore and the majestic birds who could be heard cawing from time to time was something to definitely be looking forward to. That day Justus was still unconscious even after more than three days of being in the hospital. Samantha was fed up with the doctors. How could they not diagnose his son with anything? And why hadn't he woken up even after surgery? She was worried about her only child. She had her phone in her hands as she stared at the camera from her phone. Her skin was clear and without a single pimple or wrinkle.
Her skin tone was charming. Her long and wavy black hair cascaded from her head to her back as she flicked it from back to forth. She was pretty, attractive and as beautiful as the sunset on a beach.
She then looked at her son and remembered the day she gave birth to him. Suddenly all the smallest little memories that she had of her son came to her. The day he first spoke, the day he first turned over by himself and the day he first went to school. All the beautiful memories she had of him as she felt melancholic but had no one to blame for the accident. Tears slowly fell from her diamond-shaped brown eyes as she wiped them off with her palms.
As sudden as a storm, doctors entered the room to conduct tests on Justus. They took his blood and checked his pulse and started writing things on their boards as they assured Samantha that her son was going to be okay soon. "Don't worry ma'am. He is going to be fine. He looks like a strong kid. Although it's going to take some time he is going to be fine." one of the doctors said whilst looking at Samantha with his eyes full of hope and anticipation.
"Is he gonna open his eyes soon?" Samantha asked the doctor.
"Yes, he is we just have to give him some time. He is from the ICU and had surgery. The worst part is over now. We just have to pray and hope for the best."
Samantha simply smiled and felt good after hearing the reassuring news. The doctors came out of the room one by one as the nurses too followed them. A few moments later they all came out of the room as Samantha went to close the door. She walked slowly with her fluffy slippers to the sliding door and as she was closing it she heard two nurses talking something from the nurses.
"I know right? How can she look so young? And the dad to they both looks so so young."
"They are just goals. Hashtag goals man!! I mean that's how I want to be when am thirty or forty."
"Shut up and go take people's orders!!.... Your twenty and you look fifty because of this job and when your thirty I bet you look seventy. And when your forty you'll be dead. It's all part of the job, dummy."
"I have never met someone so negative in my life. Please do not speak to patients. They will give up and commit suicide am gonna go. Goodbye, and don't talk to me."
Samantha smirked after she eavesdropped on the nurses as she gently closed the door, she could hear receding footsteps and some talking in the hallway. It was always normal for her to hear that she was young, or people could not believe that she had a kid. But she was proud of it and if time went back, she would choose the same choices over and over again just to end up with Justus. She went back and sat on the couch as she lied down for a moment and remembered her worried husband.
She took a phone and called him to check upon him. She felt elated and buoyed because of the good news and the thought of her husband finally being at ease made her feel good. After the long conversation with her husband. They hung up and decided to talk later. Samantha put on some headphones and started stretching on the floor. She continued her yoga for a couple of minutes on the floor with her yoga mat perfectly made on the floor.
Unexpectedly, as she was in the mountain pose someone swung the door open and walked in the room as if he were a CID looking for illegal activities. Samantha stopped her activities and checked to see who was the rude guy that had opened the door so abruptly without knocking. She woke up and dusted herself and then she saw him. His black attire and black shoes, his worried look and intense observation of Justus. He looked at Justus as if he were his own son as he gasped and kept his hand on his mouth.
Samantha just stared at the drama she was witnessing with no emotions or surprising face towards it. He was Justus godfather. He came from Spain after hearing what had happened to Justus. He knew Tyler and Samantha for more than two decades and had established relationships with people from all over the world. Police, politicians, lawyers and even the mafia. He had connections from all over the world.
"Oh My God. What is this injustice? Samantha, mi amor. What is this? And most importantly who did this?"
"Please stop overreacting. We are in the hospital now. And plus he's fine."
"No, no he's not. And I can't believe you didn't tell me. Am the kids' Godfather. You should have told me!!!"
"Am sorry Rico. I've been busy lately. And you know...."
"It's okay. Let's talk," he said as he found his way to the couch and flung his coat and sat down. He asked for a double shot espresso and a croissant to a nurse as if he were in a hotel then continued talking to Samantha. Their talk lasted for nearly an hour before it was abruptly stopped by Tyler who walked in the same way Rico did.
He swung the door open as if he were to catch criminals and then smiled as he saw his old friend. He dashed towards him while screaming 'What are you doing here you idiot? We don't want anyone to deport you. You stupid...' As they continued and hugged together for a long time. Most of the people around the private room thought a fight was taking place and came to see if everything was fine. But that is how they greeted each other. With insults, and hugs. Quite a peculiar relationship but it had lasted more than two decades so It was definitely worth it.
After the greeting, they both sat down and started talking about how the person who did that to Justus was going to suffer at Rico's hands. They decided to burn and practically destroy each and every person related to the accident.
