He stretched out his arms and persuaded me to sit next to him. I huffed and I puffed as I scoot over to his side. I crossed my arms in supposed defiance but did as he instructed anyway. I deliberately face the other way, making the least body contact, not allowing any part of my limbs touching him but my back.
Kind-hearted as he is, he patted my head and rubbed my shoulder.
"I know how frustrating it is for you. But we are doing our best to do a proper research regarding this matter. I would not want to jump into a conclusion until we are a hundred per cent sure."
"That's like saying we will never find a solution!"
"This is your life we are talking about. I would not want to risk it nor gamble it."
His tone was calm and patient. He tried to make me see sense. But do I want to? Could I not be selfish where I am concerned?
