Even though they seemed brave, the predatory monsters still had to hide, especially amidst the explorers of the destroyers and outside the protection of their master who had still apparent death.
Daniel's salvation a few days ago was simply luck, or maybe the twig monster had freed him and wanted to give him pain, and it was true. But it looked like for now the monster wanted Daniel dead, really dead.
His only goal was to take the core of the universe in Daniel's body and then gave it to Corrux's body. The twig monster was one of Corrux's loyal followers, who understood the workings of the universe order which inherited its cores to the creatures within. If the monsters chose to eat it, then they could die unless they drained their energy bit by bit to adjust themselves. But it would take a very long time.
The flex in Daniel's body rose again, higher than the previous one. At the moment Daniel did not have a weapon, no, especially since his baseball bat was lost and not found again. Maybe it was stuck in the stomach of the twig monster, who knew.
