The couple plus the unwanted demon sat at the table they were led to. Both Samuel and Rodrick reached to pull out a chair for Rickey who rolled her eyes. She walked to the untouched chair and sat in it unassisted. "Thanks." Rodrick sat in the chair Samuel pulled out causing Samuel to shove the chair all the way back in pressing Rodrick against the table. The silverware and plates clanged and few others looked over at the table. Samuel sat down, placing a napkin over his lap. He reached over and did the same for Rickey. "Well thank you dear." she gave him another convincing smile and he kissed her cheek. "Of course." "A kid went missing today after we left." Rodrick cleared his throat. "Why didn't you tell me right away?!" Rickey looked at him concerned. He held up his phone showing her a text. "It just got reported. Mith and Seth are taking care of it." "See dear...you can relax. Enjoy a glass of wine." the waitress had dropped off a bottle of red which Samuel poured a glass of for everyone.
Rodrick took Rickeys glass and downed it, followed by his own. "Humans have a few good things going for them...alcohol being one. Though wine is not a favorite of my kind And Rickey hates it." "Why do you know that about her?" Samuel snatched the glass and poured another for Rickey holding it out to her. She hesitantly took it. "Rod is correct though. I hate wine." "Wine is classy. And you are going to become the classy woman that you were trained to be." "Have you gotten a chance to look over the menu?" the waitress approached at the perfect time. Samuel went to order but Rodrick cut him off. "We are going to have to skip the full course and just have three of the
poulet basquaise." he had all three menus in his hand, holding them out to the waitress. "Of course." she took the menus and went to put in the order. Rickey took a sip of the wine and made a face of disgust. "You will get use to it dear." Samuel smiled placing a hand on her thigh. Rodrick didn't openly see Rickey cringe but could see through the fake smile she gave Samuel.
"So boss man. Do you see any obvious connections between all the kids at your school coming back with no memories." Rod asked. "From what I can tell, there isn't one. All of them are diverse...from different home backgrounds and cliques." Samuel sighed gently running his fingers in circles on Rickeys leg, sending chills down her spine. "The child that got kidnapped...male or female?" Rickey asked taking another sip of the wine and cringing at the taste. "Male...why?" "There is a pattern. Male. female. male." she pulled out her phone to call Seth but Samuel stopped her. "Enough work talk. Rodrick. What kind of demon are you?" "What kind of human are you? See how rude that question is?" Rodrick rolled his eyes. "You slept with this...creature?" Samuel looked at her disappointed. "Slept with is the nice way of putting it." Rickey smiled, she had slid off one of her shoes and her foot had found it's way to Rodricks leg. "Well whatever it was...it won't happen again." Samuel felt her leg move and shoved it down. "Ouch." Rickey growled. "The second son of Luicifer and Lilith by the way." "What?" Rickey and Samuel both looked at Rodrick surprised. "Second son of Luicifer and Lilith." he shrugged. "Oh this just got better." Samuel smiled as the food arrived. Rickey slowly stood from the table and downed her glass of wine. She took the bottle and drank what was left in it. "Samuel if a may be excused...I need to use the restroom." her voice was a bit shaky. Samuel nodded and they watched her walk away. "I answered your question...I figured she would be pleased." "Rodrick my friend." "Not your friend dipshit." "Fine. My temporary employee. Your mother...Lilith, is the one suspected of killing my lovely wife's parents."
