Chapter 29 - The Mysterious Selshi

Who would have thought that the condition of the basement of Thris' house was very different from the conditions upstairs? The room is bigger, spacious, and also tall. The walls don't look like a basement because they're lined with luxurious marble.

Namara was amazed by the state of the room. She could see the fireplace burning in the corner of the room. Even though from the outside there is no visible chimney.

The most interesting thing is the wall decorations. They were not ordinary decorations but preserved animal body parts. More specifically, a beast.

There was a large black horn and long, thick skin as hard as iron. There are also large, pointed and sharp fangs. Perhaps those fangs could be used to pierce someone's heart easily.

"Your collection is quite impressive," commented Eros.

Thris just smiled faintly. Then he showed a room with the door slightly ajar. "Please use the room," he said.

Then Eros stepped in while pulling Namara. After that Eros closed the door and walked over to the bed.

Namara looked at the bed which looked normal. It turned out that even though Thris was short, he still had a normal-sized bed at his house. At least Namara didn't have to sleep with her legs hanging.

Namara's fingers intertwined. She was silent while waiting for instructions from Eros. The man first sat on the edge of the bed, then looked at her expressionlessly.

"I won't touch you," said Eros.

Very nice! Namara wanted to cheer it up. Even so, she still displayed a calm demeanor. Finally, she was able to get into bed without feeling worried.

The night is getting late. Namara looked straight at the ceiling. She didn't dare turn to the right. Ah, that's a strange situation.

Fortunately, drowsiness came to attack. Her eyes became heavy. It only took a moment for Namara to fall asleep.

Eros glanced at Namara briefly. Then he got out of bed and stepped outside. The fireplace was lit on a low flame. Thris was sitting up front sipping what kind of drink it was.

"Are you still alone like you used to be?" asked Eros as he moved into the chair opposite Thris.

"Aren't you too?" Thris asked back.

"Of course I'm different. Your people are on the verge of extinction. You know that." Eros made a defense. He doesn't want to be compared to other people.

Thris snorted. "Do you think if I marry Geus' birth rate will also increase?" Thris became sarcastic. He looked at Eros seriously.

"Danos…, why did you suddenly come here?" Thris asked. All he knows is that Dardanos will not do anything without a clear purpose.

"I'm going to Selshi," said Eros.

"Selshi? Mm… that place hasn't been inhabited for a long time?" Thris asked.

Selshi is the same area as Pdenderia, i.e. it is not controlled by any power. Selshi is known as an old village that is deserted and isolated from the outside world.

There was a small academy filled with only a few students. It won't be more than 20 people. They specialize in witchcraft and ancient literature.

Selshi academy's age was probably hundreds of thousands of years. Even though the inhabitants were few, they could always survive the threats of other powers.

However, Thris had heard that Selshi had a mysterious attack that took place in just one night. It happened about three years ago.

After that night of the attack, the entire population of Selshi completely disappeared without a trace. Until now no one knows whether they survived or not.

Eros who heard this story immediately frowned. His expression turned gloomy. "How come I never heard of that?" he muttered.

"Maybe the information was blocked on purpose. I don't know either." Thris sighed helplessly. "Though Selshi has a great old wizard," he regretted.

"You're not kidding, are you, Thris?"

Thris immediately shook his head. "I can't lie to you," he said.

Eros took a deep breath. He closed his eyes for a long time. It's still a little unbelievable. Selshi who had always resisted attacks suddenly collapsed in one night?

The news was too shocking to accept. To others it might just be regrettable, but not to Eros. There was someone important to him.

Did Midas not know at all? Or maybe the man knew, but deliberately didn't tell? After all, it's been three years. Isn't this a long time ago?

Eros was annoyed, he wanted to be angry, but didn't know who he should be angry with.

"You don't know who did it?" asked Eros after opening his eyes again. He looked at Thris seriously. Unfortunately, the person who was asked immediately shook his head.

"I don't know. I've only heard of it from a few people talking about it either. If you want to know, it might be better to visit the place in person," Thris said.

Eros nodded slowly. He had to come there. Apart from Namara's business, he did have to investigate this truth. Selshi was an important place to him.

"It's just getting colder. I'm going to sleep now," Thris said as she walked away. "Don't sleep too late, Danos."

Eros remained silent without replying. He was busy with his thoughts. It was only after the fire was completely extinguished that he stepped into the room.

The next day Namara woke up feeling lighter. She turned her head to the side without seeing anyone. The guy didn't just walk away, did he?

Namara immediately ran out of the room. For some reason she felt relieved after seeing Eros there, alone while enjoying breakfast.

It must have been because Namara could only depend on Eros in the unfamiliar outside world. She probably wouldn't be able to go home if Eros had left her in Pdeneria village alone.

"Get ready. We will leave soon," said Eros without turning to Namara.

Namara nodded. She immediately went to clean herself. After that, she returned to meet Eros. The man handed her the oat porridge which was still warm.

"I guess… you were sick yesterday?" Eros' tone sounded a little dubious.

"Ah, that…." Namara scooped up the porridge with a wooden spoon. It tasted quite delicious. "It was just the flu," she continued.

Eros didn't say anything else. So, Namara just kept quiet while continuing her food.

Ever since Eros changed appearances, for some reason Namara felt his attitude had become slightly different. The man was not as cruel or cold as before. Is it possible that Eros has two personalities?

Namara immediately shook her head. Her imagination was too far. Maybe it's just part of the disguise. Perhaps the attitude of Eros and Dardanos should be distinguished. What a hassle.

Just after Namara finished breakfast, Thris came down the stairs. "Are you leaving now?" Thris asked Eros.

"Yes. I want to get to Selshi soon," replied Eros.

Namara looked at Eros curiously. What was that man's destination for a place called Selshi? She had never heard of that name. Is Selshi a beautiful place?

"I was waiting for good news from you," Thris said.

Eros nodded. "Thanks for the ride, Thris."
