My mom raised her voice from downstairs'Mandy get up, it's your first day at school, remember?', 'urg' I grunted, ' first day at school again, this is the third school I'm attending this year all thanks to my medical researcher Dad' I muttered, from one research to another,we had to be transferring schools too because of that but this time, it's gonna be different,the research he's up to lately is going to take up to two years as he had estimated so we're all here in Scotland.My Dad is an African,his medical research brought him to America where he met my mom who was a doctor in the hospital where he was researching,they fell in love and had me a year after getting married,I am going to be 17 years old this year with two siblings Merissa,a churlish 12 years old girl and my buoyant 7 years old little brother, Lenny.
I cleaned my bedraggled room,had my bath and dressed up,I was busy packing my stuff when I sighted a mirror so I decided to admire myself a little,'ohh,look at this angel' I said with a grin. I'm a tubby girl with long legs and nicely built hips,my cheeks, shape of my eyes, nose and even my lips was obviously inherited from my mom,the colour of my skin was the only thing I inherited from my Dad,a look at me will tell anyone I'm a McCoy of my parents including my siblings too,we all look alike even our hairs are very soft.
I was still admiring my beauty when my mom came in 'how's the uniform' I asked, 'it look chic'she replied with a look of great enthusiasm in me,she brought out a flower printed hairpin and tied it to my hair,she looked at me with a cheery smile.
My mom is not really a big talker,she's more of a brisk woman but she express things instead, sometimes I wonder how she fell in love with a beefy man. 'the driver is already downstairs' she finally said after admiring her own daughter,she held me and said 'Remember,be a good girl and... stay out of trouble' I snapped,she has said that for the fifth time this morning,' you know a misdemeanor can cause you trouble, have a nice day in school' she said as she walked me down the stairs,I got outside and felt the soft cool breeze, a little while,my dad ran after me, gave me a sponge cake, pecked me and left,my little sister gave me a chocolate with a little note 'goodluck' was written on its wrapper,I smiled when I saw it,she knows I'm a chocoholic,they all came outside,I waved goodbye to my family and the car left ' I'm lucky I have the cocoon of a loving family' I thought as the car sped off.

Few minutes later,we got there,'my God' I exclaimed at the sight of the school,I gazed at the big square-looking building of white stones standing high up ' Edinburgh high School' was boldly embroided on top of the building then the car stopped and I got off, for a few minutes,I stood still, admired the school and I gave myself a cheerful smile.
I got there late,so I was directed to the principal's office,I knocked and went in 'oh,there you are, your mom has called to inform me you'll be resuming today....my name is Mr Hugh Robins' he said looking at me,I knew he wanted me to introduce myself and I did ' I'm Mandy Harrison' I said in my usual relaxed manner, ' let me show you your classroom' Mr Robins said crisply,I followed the principal quietly.
When we got there, class has already begun so he said to the teacher 'she is the new transfer student,let her begin work immediately',the teacher nodded in agreement,the principal left and I came in.
The students stared at me as I walked in slowly ' Class,this is the new transfer student',she then faced me and said my name is Miss Benning, please introduce yourself'.
I looked up and as I was about to introduce myself,I saw this familiar guy,' where did I know this guy' I thought to myself as I was ruminating to recall his face then I suddenly remembered and I gasped within me 'he's the prince in my dream last night ' I was perplexed and incredulous ' what's he doing here?' I asked looking befuddled ' wake up idiot' my subconscious mind tapped me then I came out from my thoughts only to find the teacher glaring at me furiously ' I asked you to introduce yourself or don't you understand English???!!' she asked bridly ' no ma'am' I said, not minding her angry tone' then I introduced myself ' hello everyone,my name is Mandy Harrison,a transfer student,I hope we become good friends'
The students all looked grimace as they watched the teachers direct me to my seat,as I was going,I stole a glance at my prince and I quickly avoided our eye contact,I didn't care about the other students all my attention was on the prince 'why did he appear in reality?,what the hell is he doing here?,is this a dream too?' a lot of thoughts crossed my mind as I sat down,I could not get my eyes off him, though he wasn't looking at my direction,I was just looking at him and on my seat,I thought deeply 'Could this be fate or coincidence?'
