faes woke up due to hunger. thankfully it wasn't bloodlust this time and simple hunger. as soon as she entered the dining area she was tackled in a hug by little sky.
"are you fine?" sky asked once she was done checking her new tattoos.
faes nodded smiling. she still felt the same towards sky.
"are you sure? i mean, you seem pale" blake spoke cautiously but he had relaxed when he saw faes hold sky carefully and close the herself as if depending on sky to hold herself together.
she still seemed like the same faes from before but more feral, yet calm. blake couldn't help but feel like it was the calm before the storm. but what storm? he wasn't sure.
"i am really fine brother blake" faes smiled at blake who finally relaxed. faes was indeed the same, except she was merely the same on the outside. in her sea of conciousness, her soul was constantly being burnt in the chaos of the black flame and that black flame was the sourse of these tattoo's, hence it was inevitable that these would hurt too.
the chaos fire wasn't a common fire, it was a type of soul fire that was the most dangerous, and could only be calmed through the white soul fire that represented the calm.
the calm fire was with kailial who was also currently residing within her sea of consiousness but he too waS hurting due to his soul being fragmented. the soul fire was burning more violently for him trying to consume him completely.
she didn't have much time left before his soul fragment vanished, before that happened she needs to find another of his fragment and merge them together.
not only that, but her thoughts were also being consumed and she constantly needed to remin herself that she have to remain sane, not to give into the temptation of the compensation.
"your highness, her majesty have assigned a few new servants for you, and they woulld be joining the duty today. until the time your castle is being repaired the king, his majesty asked you to stay in the main castle." elijah reported as she ate her breakfast.
"also, his highness prince leonardo mcleod, also sent another list of potions and weapons, the sales seem to have increased yet again and have requested for the increment of the production. the master forager working under them along with master and grandmaster alchemists also asked for various guidance."
elijah continued reporting her about her schedule and the tasks she had to do.
"also sister faes, i wanted to have a magic teacher. i feel like my magic can't keep up with my body." sky also asked after elijah was done.
"i would ask father to find one for both of us" faes nodded at sky
"and you need to take a little break from the working, you are still a little kid, leave the most work to me until you have grown older"
sky had been staying mostly in the mystic fog castle making the potions and weapons leo requested and did her research in her free time.
faes felt bad seeing a kid working so much hence she decided to ban sky from working for a while.
"go explore the kingdom and its capital city with tae li and tony. and remember to have fun and eat your meals properly and on time. do not talk to strangers and if you feel even slightly threatened either beat them up or come to me directly" faes gave sky more instructions before she let sky go and prepare.
"why don't you join me in my meeting with the king?" blake asked seriously making faes pause her eating and gave him a deep look before accepting.
eating her meal faes too got ready and left the mystic fog castle together with blake gray eli and robin.
soon they were in her father's castle seated inside a meeting room with her, blake, augustus, Alicia and alex.
"your majesty, you might already be aware of the time of admissions in school of lore." blake began and both augustus and alicia's faces changed taking faes by surprise.
she never knew about this school.
"yes, we are aware." augustus spoke grimly nodding at blake to continue
"my father asked me to pass this to you" blake handed kind augustus a letter which he read seriously before sighing
"it's dangerous." augustus spoke but before he could continue faes interrupted
"excuse me" faes was curious about the letter and all of these people's reactions but she seem to be only one who didn't know about this school.
"what is this school of lore? and why is everyone taking it grimly?" faes asked unable to satisfy her curiosity.
"the school of lore" augustus sighed again as he leaned back in his seat.
"it is not a school. it only gives out admissions once every ten years. the kingdoms all over the world are to send their strongest kids in the age of ten to twenty to study in the school of lore for two years. no matter their cultivation, knowledge, field or looks. they just have to be the strongest cultivators." augustus explained
"and no one is aware of who owns the school, who runs it or anything. many times the kingdom's have tried to send weaker kids to the school, in order to keep their real strength hidden but they received their dead bodies while the strongest kids were kidnapped appearing in the school" blake added
"no one can even attack the school as it does not come under any kingdom. it is a private property in itself with its own defense. even the kids who have studied their have never mentioned a word of anything unusual outside. they have merely become stronger and more capable in their fields after graduating" alicia sighed
faes processed this information before frowning.
"then what's wrong? do those kids become evil? do they die? is there something else?" faes asked not understanding the reactions.
"the kingdoms have many times attacked the school to take over, but each time they have returned with defeat, less than twenty percent of their armies alive. though, the kids studying there does not die or turn evil they all seem to be hiding something." augustus signed
"hence the kingdom's began sending the kids as spies, but none of these kids remembered their mission and seem to have their memories altered regarding the school. after graduating, the students who even wish to speak of the school seem to have hazy memories of it."
"this time the spy mission is to be given to you faes. after all, you are the strongest kid in the world currently"
