although until now faes had fought them she barely had any injuries but her armour was dyed red by the other's blood. in the last attack faes got few injuries ableit minor. she wasn't expecting them to retreat.
"your highness we admit our defeat but the cult wont sit back and we will come back to get both of you" asuna spoke but faes flashed him a grin.
"you speak as if you will be able to find us" faes was thinking of how these people have found her! one have to know that the news of the princesses of reptiliance not being in the capital was not known by many. and they also didn't use any kind of transport for them to be able to get tracked, while faes used to check whether they were being followed or not once in a while! then how did they know where they were?
"i agree its not easy to find both of you. in the past year we have tried everything before we managed to get your whereabouts and only recently arrived here to check up on you." asuna agreed
"we knew you wont agree to join us but you also have to know that the cult knows many things about you." asuna spoke as faes kept away her two elemental swords and called her main two-handed sword - soulreaper preparing to fight with asuna
"your powers, cultivation and identity along with many other things are known by the cult and are being updated constantly. your highness, we know who you are! and we were here to only test how much you have improved. whether you want or not the cult will do everything to get you to join us. we don't want to kill you just to test your powers and skills. here's another letter from the cult leader"
with what asuna spoke he took out another letter and extended it to faes.
faes was originally feeling angry but now her anger had turned into shock and confusion. asuna had gone from all mightily and above all else to being an obedient servant!

faes instantly jumped away once she finished reading raising her sword glaring at asuna who clicked his tongue for missing his attack but he had a huge smile on his face.
"i don't want any kind of relationship with the cult especially an assistant who would attack me no idea when" faes glared but her anger was calmed now and she didn't hated the cult as much as she did before. maybe there is indeed a story behind the cult's actions.
"oh but you don't have a choice in it. whether you accept the proposal and join us or accept the deal. there isn't a third option- wait there is; we continue to attack you until we get you" asuna grinned vanishing before arriving behind faes who dodged ahead barely avoiding the dagger.
"we can get to an agreement, i would only attack you once per four months how about this?" asuna spoke as he continued to teleport and attack her constantly.
faes who was dodging didn't knew how to deal with asuna's teleportation. she couldn't follow him and only knew when he was attacking leaving no choice but to dodge.
"your highness you know why i was chosen to be your assistant?" asuna asked as he paused his attacks grinning
"because i am a prodigy too! you see we are similar in age and cultivation. the cult thinks i will improve after staying near you and constantly challenging you." asuna spoke while faes felt a chill. she knew asuna's details because she scanned him previously. he was two years older than her and was a dual affinity prodigy while also being an assasin- perfect for doing shady work.
and his elements were special- space and fire! faes can only dodge his attacks as asuna continued to teleport and attack her hoping that he would get tired sonner.
"i can teleport constantly at short distances by reducing the strength of the attacks to decrease the stamina consumption, you wont tire me easily" asuna spoke just as faes mind began working.

just as asuna teleported behind her again she too teleported, not some distance away but behind asuna and swiped her sword at him. asuna had good reaction speed as he turned and blocked her attack but once his daggers met with faes sword a ringing sound of metal echoed out before both were sent flying backwards from the shockwave.
