with the cult members retreating the battalion instantly cheered. they had won and defended the battalion!
but sky and shiva were not happy because the leader boy was still in front of faes. sky had told shiva that faes had calmed down but he couldn't understand why and especially when she was currently fighting the boy.
yes once the cult members retreated the boy had given faes a letter after reading which both began to fight bringing everyone's attention to them. they both teleported constantly and hence following their movements have been troublesome even for shiva.
as for others they only saw faes and sauna when they appeared at various places after teleporting. their earlier happy mood of winning vanished noticing that faes was currently constantly dodging the attacks. even then when the attacks stuck the place she was at the ground cracked and burnt to melt into fiery red lava.
the resulting shockwave was enough to rise the dust and clear the area around the fight. when the shockwave came in contact of the barrier it shook until crack appeared in it making everyone pale and afraid. if it were any of them out there they would have already died many times now!
"what are they talking about?" sky muttered as she sensed faes constantly changing her emotions getting confused
"talking?" shiva heard sky and frowned. they could only see the two playing cat and mouse and going after each other's throat, they couldn't even imagine about talking while fighting like that!
just as they were wondering what will happen a metallic sound echoed out before an explosion. the place faes and sauna were fighting was blasted with the two flying out slamming into the ground until the ground two craters forming. the shockwave from the exchange slammed into the battalion barrier cracking it until it broke down and then throwing various soldiers off their foot.
many low levelled soldiers were instantly injured spewing out mouthful of blood. only shiva and sky were fine currently as if nothing happened;
"what power! is this the real strength of miss faes?"
"those two are so strong! when will we become that strong?"
"is miss faes fine?"
"what is happening i cant see anything!"
"....." various voices and wailes sounded out but the fight wasnt finished!
"sky protect the battalion!" faes voice echoed out from withing the dust
"don't worry sister faes! just make sure you stay fine!" sky replied before something astonishing happened in front of everyone's eyes.
the small girl jumped in air glowing. two pair of silver feathery wings appearing on her back as he purple while hair began floating. her blueish purple eyes glowed with a silvery tint as she began to chant.
all of the soldiers in the battalion were humans and haven't seen anything like this before hence they all forgot about the fight focusing on sky with sparking eyes.
even shiva was shocked as he moved away because of the aura that suddenly released from sky. it made others unable to move after pushing them behind a certain distance.
"dragon god phantom!
grant me your power and help me keep others stay safe and healthy.
create a barrier and heal the injured!
the weak prayed while the strong protected.
grant me this wish- protect the battalion and the living within it
dragon god phantom- protection and healing barrier"
sky chanted as a purple dragon phantom formed around her. the aura released by the phantom swept through the whole battalion making everyone freeze holding their breath.
after the phantom was created completely it opened its mouth purple runes escaping it. the runes covered the battalion before turning into purple light and merging into a barrier. the barrier then gave off a purple glow within it!
when the purple light touched a person their injuries healed at visible rate and soon they were all better until the light vanished leaving the barrier and the phantom.
"this- a dragon?" everyone was staring at sky who ignored them focusing outside the battalion.
"lets continue" faes spoke while smiling at asuna who returned the smile. they continued to clash and separate constantly creating many shockwaves. when these shockwaves came in contact of the purple barrier they only made it shake lightly before stabilizing.
both faes and sauna were covered in wounds after exchanging hundreds of moves but faes began to feel that something was wrong.

several notifications rang in her mind making her angry again. he dares poison her! but her anger vanished the next moment as she felt her body heat up.
"this poison includes in the contract to increase your poison resistance for the future" asuna spoke before grinning as faes began to feel dizzy shaking her head and stumbling losing her balance.
"oh! it looks like the poison is working! my work is done here!" asuna nodded keeping his daggers away and catching faes before she fell.
"tsk! you need to get stronger princess! the amount of poison will only increase in the future. and don't worry the cult wont give poison to princess sky until she turns ten years old" asuna spoke as soulreaper (faes sword) vanished turning into a bracelet on her arm. faes tried to push him away failing clearly because of the poison
"princess, tell me which one you choose before i leave" asuna asked as faes glared at him. she wanted nothing but claw his handsome face currently for poisoning her but was unable to.
"i will accept the deal" she shrugged him off her gritting her teeth and mustering her remaining energy. she cant have him win just like that!
"that's better than having to attack you again and again!" asuna grinned before his grin fell replaced by shock. because he was suddenly being trapped by ice making him unable to move before countless fireballs though small appeared around them.
"you can still attack?" asuna was shocked. after being poisoned once he had been instantly knocked out hence he was shocked that after being poisoned faes can still attack! one have to know that the dose was large enough to kill king establishment stage cultivators.
but the precision of the attack was clearly not 100% as the quality of the move wasn't enough to hold him down. asuna broke free from the ice bind just as the purple fireballs hit him. he dodged few but after one hit him it exploded allowing others to hit too.
when the explosion ended asuna was injured and burnt heavily. his face was still safe but his other body parts were burnt and he suffered until he was covered by blood and burns completely.
"interesting! but can you move anymore?" asuna asked faes after coughing and drowning in a healing potion.
just as asuna said faes was indeed unable to move anymore. she only smiled as her consciousness began to fade away. her body felt hot and she felt the world rotate around her.
asuna sighed as he got up and approached faes. he could still walk thanks to the healing potion and the attack being weak because of the poison.
"go to sleep i will meet you later along with the contract" asuna hit faes neck making her pass out and then picked her up.
but once he noticed her red face and her body burning up he suddenly had an urge to take her far away to keep her safe and protected. he wanted to protect the beautiful girl in his arms but was unable to.
"don't worry i will keep you safe! only i can hurt you in a fight" asuna promised as the soldiers surrounded him.
when faes fell down and attacked asuna the explosion had been powerful enough to kill elemental strengthening stage cultivators even after being weakened! to stop the force from hurting the battalion members sky had put all her mana into the shield but she still lost consciousness once the attack vanished. shiva had caught sky as the dragon phantom vanished along with the barrier feeling scared.
this was the first time he had felt this scared! it wasn't because sky was unconscious but because he saw the leader still stand and hit faes who passed out before picking her up.
if anything serious happened to either of the girls then he along with whole altai will be doomed! the two girls were dragon princesses!
"albert take sky to the infirmary and have her healed immediately! everyone else don't let that boy take faes away!" shiva ordered
after that he along with the strongest soldiers surrounded the boy who was staring at faes in his arms muttering something.
"just on time!" asuna spoke as he approached shiva handing unconscious faes to him, confusing everyone
"take care of her for me! i will come back some other time to meet her" asuna spoke before vanishing leaving shiva shivering in fear as he sensed faes burning up covered in blood.
