faes walked out of the dust smiling without even a scratch on her body. with dust around her body as she walked holding her sword in one hand and with a smile on her face faes felt like an ethereal being.
richard who was sure he had killed faes was shocked. he had used about 70% of his strength in that attack as to not take any chances but he still failed! richard shivered as he saw her smile, to him it was as if a devil had appeared before him and he was going to die a horrible death.
richard completely didn't thought about how faes was able to manage to get out of his attack unscratched! angered and afraid of faes richard began to bombard faes with one attack and other but in the end he was still unable to hurt her at all.
richard finally paused when he noticed that faes had stopped walking and was not even blocking his attacks. there was a shield around her and it was absorbing all the attacks, Richard shivered as he sensed aiden's mana on the shield.
faes had equipped the circlet aiden had given her on her birthday back in the cave before she passed out, when Richard attacked her she activated the circlet defence system and a shield formed around her. faes had still used his attack to break the chains that were binding her and had freed herself.
it will block all attacks of king establishment stage and below for an hour and can only be used once before the circlet converts into a regular beautiful jewellry. faes had not wanted to use it but currently, she was close to breakthrough king establishment stage herself and if she didn't do so then she might not be in condition to face the lord who was in charge of this base and wanted to meet her.
after thinking faes had done this all and was now waiting for that lord to appear, as for Richard as long as the lord didn't appear in an hour then he will be alive as faes would need someone to tell where the lord was.
faes and Richard stood in front of each other faces solemn both deep in their own thoughts but faes was more alert than Richard as she can hear and sense more things than others. she was not only focusing on Richard but others around her as well. there were around a thousand people in this place and about fifty of them were king establishment stage cultivators. faes can sense many noble establishment stage cultivators and below too but the lord- she cant sense him neither hear anything related to him.
"you! you are taking advantage of the shield his majesty made." Richard shouted angrily and annoyed as he wasn't able to hurt faes but then he smirked
"it will lose its effect sometime and then who is going to save you?" Richard began laughing but faes just stood there with an expressionless face. she didn't have time to waste with him and there were other king establishment stage cultivators too! if they all attacked her together after the hour was over then she might really die. she was not going to die again like this!
"i don't need it to save myself" faes said as she tightened her hold on her sword and then her movement technique was displayed and she vanished from ricahrd's sight. but Richard was still peak king establishment stage cultivator he found her traces soon enough and was able to block her sword, after all faes was still just noble establishment stage cultivator and was lacking in energy.
"too weak!" Richard said as they separated and faes vanished again. this time he wasn't able to trace her fast enough before a sword came from his side. faes was trying to save energy for later but now if she continued the way she was intending then it would only cost her more energy hence she began to use void steps at a higher speed than before. in the past she had not only increased her cultivation but skills too. currently faes was only using void steps and her sword without any magic while Richard was also only using his sword.
this blow richard was injured deeply as faes sword pierced through his side. richard finally sensed danger after being injured and began using his qi. faes who had just injured him sensed that Richard was going to use qi and moved away vanishing once again.
"you dare injure me! i will let you see what a real noble could do!" Richard shouted in anger as qi began circulating around him and flowed through his meridians. the qi flowed around his limbs and sword forming a layer on him covering him completely from head to toe. this was his family's technique. they use qi to strengthen their body and increase the strength and agility of their body to fight.
faes saw what was happening from the void and sighed. she noticed that it had been ten minutes since she have activated the barrier. she was not going to let richard waste any more time and energy of hers!
faes glared at Richard and moved qi revolving around her sword and covering it
"qi chains!" faes spoke as qi chains appeared around richard and held him in place. he was already covered in qi from head to toe and when the qi chains held him the chains absorbed the qi over his body like a hungry wolf eating a bunny. immobilized by the qi chains and unable to do anything about them richard saw faes appear in front of him and glared at him
"i know sky is not here! i know where she is and whether she is safe or not but for trying to kidnap and kill me along with trying to harm sky i am going to kill you!" faes said as she raised her sword and gave it a solid swing.
just as it was going to touch richard's neck faes was hit with a strong force that pushed her away from Richard though she was still unharmed the attack just now had managed to hit her meant that the attacker was above king establishment stage, and faes was not able to sense them even after being attacked.
richard began laughing as he glanced at faes
"milord is here now you don't stand a chance! you will die an horrible death!" Richard was laughing like a madman that he was but faes had a grim look. she clearly didn't sense where the attacker was and how she was attacked. the point that she was not injured was just because the attacker didn't wanted to kill her yet and only save richard.
as faes was trying to find the attacker and Richard was busy cursing faes and praising the lord footsteps were heard and dozens of people appeared outside the cell. the were all surprisingly king establishment stage cultivators.
faes saw them and cursed silently. blaming god again to not stop her before coming here and not thinking about a better plan.
a voice sounded from somewhere echoing around all of them
"lets take it somewhere more spacious shall we?" the voice that faes recognized as the supposed lord said before the scenery around them changed. they had teleported out of the prison and were in front of a mansion, faes was surrounded from all sides by all the thousands of cultivators while Richard was not present.
looking around her faes sighed, thousands of cultivators along with that mysterious lord, how was she going to stay alive? to add to her concerns about fifty king establishment stage cultivators were also present! and the barrier around her would only stay for another forty minutes at most.
"princess faes you have two choices first to hand over the nightlight and other treasure you have while you can also fight everyone present here. rest assured i wont kill you but i wont let you kill them either. princess faes you have a minute to choose before they all charge at you at once!"
