"princess faes you have two choices first to hand over the nightlight and other treasure you have while you can also fight everyone present here. rest assured i won't kill you but i won't let you kill them either. princess faes you have a minute to choose before they all charge at you at once!" the mysterious voice said and then fell silent.
faes who was in the middle of the encirclement fell deep into thought. if she handed over the nightlight then she would not only be betraying kai but aiden and ancient dragon spirits too. it would also put the world in danger if they get their hands on a bloodstone she had along with other things. she can enter mystic fog castle but it will only make them moe alert and put her in more danger along with sky who is already in mystic fog castle.
faes can always teleport away but she can only teleport till a mile radius now and not much while currently she was surrounded by about thousand cultivators who would no doubt catch up to her even if she teleports few times along with the lord who seem to be able to use space magic but it was slightly different way of using it other than teleporting which made faes interested in knowing more about this lord.
she can attack the other cultivators but the lord said that he wont let her kill anyone so she would only be wasting her energy in fighting and time was ticking away on her shield.
"you want nightlight but refused to show your face? who are you?" faes asked but no one replied to her making her feel angry but the more angry she was the more calm she was.
"i would hand it to you but alone and also i heard you have something that i might be interested in, what is it?" faes said just as laughter came from around still echoing
"good! good! come on in then lets talk properly!" the voice said between laughter then faes found herself being teleported again. this time she was in a sitting area while the room was still empty. from her senses and the view from the window she knew that she was in a room at the top of the mansion.
"now! your highness lets talk properly but before that let me introduce myself" a voice said as a rift opened in between the room and a middle aged person walked out. he had dark blue hair and black eyes and was tall. faes recognized him instantly,
he was the old man from the shop where aiden had placed the nightlight for safekeeping. but at that time he was older, probably in a disguice but the current him was his real form or what faes thought was.
"or reintroduce myself as you seem to know who i am" the man said with a smile.
"i am liam the lord of this secret hideout for red poison cult" liam said as he motioned for faes to take a seat
"what is the thing that you think i might be interested in?" faes asked instead of taking a seat but liam just sighed still smiling
"yes ofcourse i would show you but first you have to hand over the nightlight" liam said
"i don't have it currently, its in the royal treasury at the palace along with other things i took from your shop" faes answered.
"oh really? then i will send someone to get it from there" liam showed a surprised look along with a disappointed one but soon he smiled again.
"then let me show you what you want to see" liam said and waved his hand. another rift opened in the room and a book flew out of it.
"i found it some time ago, its a grimoire and is known as grimoire of zero." the grimoire flew and landed on the table in front of faes.
faes saw the thick grimoire and frowned. it was similar to the book the ancient dragon spirits gave her but that book had golden cover while the one in front of her had a red cover and in the centre was a yin yang design along with a white and black gem.
'system scan both the book and liam along with this whole place and make me a list of cultivators according to their type and cultivation.' faes said. she had already told the system to scan liam and the base but it didn't hurt to remind it again.

the system voice sounded and soon the details of the grimoire and liam were in front of her.

faes frowned after reading the descriptions. they didn't help her much.
"what does it do?" faes asked liam nodding at the grimoire but she still didn't touch it, just in case
"that i don't know, i thought that you knew about nightlight so you might know about this too." liam shrugged and picked the grimoire opening it and showing what was inside of it
"its empty?" faes whispered frowning but then narrowed her eyes. all the pages of the book were empty but completely white.
"yes! so what do you think? hand over the nightlight and take the grimoire of void in return how about that?" liam said extending the book towards her. his statement made faes realize that he had seen through her lie before and knew that the nightlight was still with her.
"i already told you i don't have it, its-"
"oh i know you have it and you have already equipped it too!" liam cut her off and smiled
"i have a very useful grimoire that is able to sense things normal people cant. though it cant tell how you have hidden it i can tell that you have it" liam smiled as a few books flew out of the void again and began floating around liam.
"then i don't want to give it to you" faes said taking a deep breath and glaring at liam. she wont let him take the nightlight and her choker's bloodstone otherwise the world and kai both will be harmed.
"i thought that much" liam sighed as the grimoire around him opened and began glowing.
"if you don't give them to me then i will have to take them by force even if i have to kill you" liam said but he paused then smiled
"and if you managed to defeat me then you can have all the grimoire's and other things i have, how about that?" liam asked
faes glared at him, liam was betting with her in this situation? but she only have a single choice
"only the two of us fight and none of your followers interfere" faes said
"accepted!" liam smiled and then they vanished from the room appearing in the sky above the mansion. faes quickly called her wings and began to hover in the sky.
"lets begin then! i will give you a chance to attack me first as you are still just a noble establishment stage cultivator" liam said
faes didn't believed him but still held her sword in her hand and took a deep breath. she was going to have to either win or die!
