the royal family once more arrived in front of two huge closed double doors. the royal family only dresses the way they were dressed on special occasions such as today! it was sky's morphing ceremony and their first social appearance in the noble circle.
the two sisters will be introduced to the nobles and they will try their best to gain their favor.
"baby stay close to one of us and don't trust anyone other than us understand?" faes whispered to sky before the doors opened. sky just like a good girl nodded and smiled innocently.
'okay here we go' faes took a deep breath as adrian held sky's hand and blake came to her and gave her a smile.
faes smiled back and turned to the front again. other than her sky seem to most trust adrian. faes also noticed that adrian was protective and possessive over sky so she relaxed knowing adrian wont let anything happen to sky but she would still keep an eyes out for trouble causing nobles.
the doors opened revealing a balcony from which there was stairs going downwards from one side which led to the ball happening below while on the other side was a way for them to get to the other balcony a little away where they will be seating.
"the royal family has arrived!" the announcement was made continued by their names. first the king and queen went and stood near the balcony railing followed by adrian and sky then blake and faes.
"greetings your majesty king ladon shadowdragon de reptiliance! greetings your majesty queen nuri shadowdragon de reptiliance, greetings his highness crown prince adrian, greetings her highness princess sky, greetings his highness prince blake, greetings her highness princess faes!"
the greetings echoed for sometime before everyone focused on faes and sky. they were standing with adrian and blake who were already good looking but even without them the two princesses looked beautiful! the nobles present at the ball were bewitched by the two beautiful princesses escorted by their handsome brothers!
"i king ladon would like to thank everyone for joining us at this auspicious occasion. i would also like to apologize because of the wait that you had to do. as you can see our second princess, princess sky had morphed into her human form in the ceremony held before the ball but the ceremony took more time than normal because our precious princess is special!" king ladon said causing the crowd to cheer and wish sky who was beaming at them.
"this ball is held to welcome our princesses and congratulate our young princess to become the youngest dragon to transform in her human form. i hope you get to know them and also enjoy the remaining night!" the king finished his speech and smiled at the nobles again. he then led the queen to their seats after waving and thanking the nobles again. adrian asked sky if she would like to go down and meet others which she accepted. the four of them went went downstairs where the other nobles were.
faes would rather seat in her seat but she wanted to stay near sky to keep an eye out so she followed them while blake was already smiling and waving at several ladies as they walked down the stairs.
as soon as they got down several nobles surrounded them. faes smiled and greeted them like a proper princess. they told her she looked beautiful even with the mask and then introduced her to their daughters and sons.
faes greeted them one by one until the nobles stopped coming to them. adrian had greeted a few nobles before taking sky with him towards the play area where the children who had morphed into their human form were playing.
faes wanted to do the same so she didn't stop him but she was keeping an eye on sky. as blake was with her the young noble girls and boys had surrounded faes and blake.
faes though irritated at their fake talks she didn't showed it and still talked with them.
"your highness is so beautiful, i heard that you are strong too? what powers do you have? what is your cultivation level?" one of the young boys asked that had stayed around faes for some time.
faes smiled at him "i am not too strong sir qinsley, i recently broke through elite establishment and use qi" faes just said that! she didn't told them anything else but it was enough for them to know.
"your highness you look different from before, when we saw you at the funeral of his majesty late king aiden shadowdragon de reptiliance you looked different" one of the girls asked
"yes your highness tell us what caused your change you look taller and more beautiful" another girl said
"i don't know what change you are talking about ms fireheart i am the same as before though my height have increased after i broke through elite establishment" faes said smiling.
this kind of questions continued until faes had enough. she excused herself and went to get something to eat and drink as she was starving by all the talking and the ceremony. she still had to eat dinner! faes thought as she picked a juice glass and took a sip.
after sometime she was approached by someone else. faes remembered nickolas from the village aquarin and when she saw him coming with two elders that are probably his parents faes smiled.
"greetings your highness! i am the lord of village aquarin this is my wife and my son. you have probably met him before" the elder person greeted and faes nodded
"we have met before, i wonder how is ms rosaline, sir nickolas?" faes asked nickolas who lowered his head turning red
"ms rosaline is doing fine and is safe and happy your highness" nickolas answered obediently. after his run in with blake and faes he had been beaten and scolded badly by both his father and mother. now he didn't dare have eyes on rosaline anymore! nor he was willing to bother princess faes anymore.
"that good to hear! sir nickolas must be taking good care of his village citizens i am happy to hear that" faes replied
"your highness,i would like to apologize for what my son did. i assure you he had been punished and wont do something like that ever again." his father said bowing
"oh its alright no harm done! i just hope that he will become someone who takes care of everyone equally despite their economic situations" faes smiled
"we thank your highness then" nickolas mother said bowing as nickolas too bowed
"i will become a better person in the future your highness, one that you will be proud of!" nickolas vowed
they left after some talk and faes juice also ended as she took another glass of it to make her hunger calm for now, that reminds her 'sky also have to drink her milk'
faes had prepared the milk for sky and had told kai to warm it up when she asks for it. faes went to where sky was playing with a few other kids and adrian was talking with one of his friends while keeping an eye on sky.
because of the distance between faes and sky's positions faes had to walk for some time before she arrived to where sky was. faes saw Richard arriving near the play area and approach sky. narrowing her eyes faes increased her walking speed while still sipping on the juice.
she didn't liked that richard and knew he was up to no good. faes focused on her hearing as she looked at adrian. he was still talking with the boy with him but he had moved slightly closer to sky and had noticed richard approaching her. faes nodded happy that adrian was doing his job nicely.
"your highness princess sky!" Richard greeted smiling as he got on one knee so sky wont have to look up at him while he talked. sky turned to him blinking as she heard him calling for her.
"i would like to congratulate you for transforming into your human form at such a young age! please accept my gift" richard gave sky a box.
sky nodded taking the box from Richard as she didn't found something strange with what he said. few others had given her gifts and congratulated her too!
emma appeared near her and sky handed her the gift she received just now like what she had done with the other gifts. she didn't expected that richard would stop her.
"your highness not to be disrespectful but these are the best chocolates in the kingdom. it would be an honor if you try them" richard said
sky blinked. she was not supposed to eat anything other than drinking milk that her sister faes prepared. no one had given her anything other than milk till now even though she wanted to eat many things. sky understood that she was young and they were doing it for her good hence she waited and drank milk patiently. the milk was also delicious as it was prepared by faes.
sky glanced at adrian who was near her watching her but was still away to hear what they were talking about so sky turned to emma her maid.
"lord qinsley not to be disrespectful but princess sky is not allowed to eat anything yet" emma said as sky turned back to the man in front of her.
"oh my! i cant believe that a beautiful princess like her highness is not allowed to eat anything. if she doesn't eat anything then how is she supposed to grow stronger? she have now transformed into her human form and her body will need double amount of nutrition than before" richard exclaimed softly shaking his head with a sad expression. emma narrowed her eyes sensing something wrong but before she can speak the man continued
"your highness you should do whatever you like and eat what you want. you are a princess and princesses are supposed to be pampered on. go on try these chocolates if your highness likes them i would get some more for you" richard said
sky wanted to eat but she wont! faes had told her that she don't have to trust others for now and only them so she will do as her sister says. faes have always let her do what she wants and had explained to her that she can begin eating various things after she grow older so sky didn't think that she was being treated badly.
sky shook her head in no.
"i apologize lord qinsley but her highness princess sky is not supposed to eat anything other than milk for now" emma said again on behalf of sky
"who are you to tell her what to eat or not? you are just a maid! she is a princess and can do whatever her highness wants!" Richard hissed at emma making her lower her head.
