faes and sky had treated emma nicely like an older sister ever since she began to work for them. though she dared not to tell them what to do and what not to, princess sky was just a few months old and it wont be good for her health to eat anything.
faes had heard everything thanks to her strong hearing and was trying not to break the glass of juice she had in her hands. she placed it on a tray a waiter was carrying and asked kai to heat the glass of milk she prepared for sky before.
"how dare you speak to me like that? i am a higher noble!" Richard hissed as he glared at emma who didn't back down though didn't meet his eyes either. for emma to serve a princess she was already in elite establishment stage just like the lord in front of her. and title was just a form of respect the main point was power and strength that she wasn't lacking. emma had done nothing wrong so she didn't back down,
sky frowned her smile vanishing as she sensed the tension between emma and Richard as emma stood in front of her.
"let me show you who you are talking to!" Richard said as he got up and was about to hit emma when a hand stopped him. he turned to look at the crown prince who was the one stopping him and bowed.
"greetings your highness crown prince adrian" richard said
"what is going on here?" adrian asked. though he was nearby he was still out of earshot and did not have heightened hearing like faes to hear what was going on. he saw Richard giving a gift to sky and found nothing wrong but when he saw again richard was going to hit emma who was standing in front of sky. he didn't knew what had happened in between
"your highness, i was talking to her highness princess sky and this maid came in between disrespecting me and was making her highness refuse the gift i presented" richard said
adrian frowned as he glanced at emma who had her head low but he knew that she would not do something like that and ricihard was also not a saint he definitely did something first.
"what do you want to say?" adrian asked emma
"your highness! i apologize if i cause a problem and disrespected but i was merely stating that her highness princess sky is not supposed to eat anything else than drinking milk given her age and lord qinsley gifted her highness chocolates and wanted her to eat them" emma said
"your highness, i was merely saying that her highness should eat more nutritious food now that she had transformed" richard stated
adrian was already sighing as he heard them, he can already clearly see what was wrong but currently he had no way to clear this situation. emma was correct about her fact and Richard was merely looking out for their princess, if he took either's side then he would look bad for the other and this will cause more problems in future.
"baby its time for your milk! quickly finish it before it gets cold.!" a sweet voice sounded from behind of Richard as faes appeared not after. she was holding a glass of milk as she arrived and took sky with her. they went to the nearby table where faes helped sky to sit and drink the milk from the glass carefully.
faes completely ignored richard and adrian but it only made adrian smile. it was exactly what should be done in this kind of situation, faes not only slapped richard in face but also saved him from looking bad.
"your highness let me take that!" emma quickly took the empty glass of milk and stood at a side with her head lowered. though it was to hide the smile she had. 'master is cool!' she thought.
"do you feel full? or do you want more milk?" faes asked and sky shook her head. she was full as the glass was quite big.
"alright now go and sleep its already late and i am sure you are tired from everything that happened" faes said
sky was indeed tired and slightly sleepy after drinking milk so she smiled widely and nodded.
"emma can you take sky to her room and tuck her in bed? i will be there soon" faes said and emma nodded before picking up sky who was already extending her small hands to be carried.
"excuse us your highness we will be off then!" emma said and left the place along with sky. faes noticed sarah and ethan follow not long after and turned to the others who had quite amusing expressions.
"oh! i didn't saw his highness there, i apologize i was quite worried as you might know sky is still an infant and would get hungry so i thought that after the ceremony she would be hungry and tired. i hope you don't mind" faes smiled at adrian who smiled back
"its no problem your highness i understand! princess sky is still three months old she should get as much sleep as she can and drink as much milk as she can" adrian replied.
on the side richard heard them talking and his expression darkened the more they talk. finally he was unable to hear anymore so he interrupted
"greetings your highness! welcome in the royal capital and i feel sorry about his majesty late king aiden" richard said
"greeting sir qinsley, its alright i have moved on from papa's death though i would always miss him" faes intentionally called aiden papa instead of his majesty.
"i know your highness is adopted by his majesty but not to offend or anything but this lowly one had some curiosity" richard said. he was not able to cause trouble with sky but he still had the elder princess who he can use.
faes knew he was causing trouble but she just smiled in return while adrian's smile dropped turning into a mask. adrian was angry as the noble dared to question faes background!
"i am aware that many people want to know my origins" faes began as she smiled at Richard "but isn't it interesting to keep it a mystery? it gives me a more of a mysterious background! though the royal family is aware of my origins so its not a complete secret, its still fun to have a more mysterious background" faes said.
richard gritted his teeth in anger. looks like this princess was not easy to bully.
"but your highness calls her highness princess sky as baby and his majesty late king aiden as papa, isn't it too casual?" Richard continued not ready to give in.
faes frowned "but i always call them that and no one stopped me. papa always told me to call him papa when he was alive and i also call sky as baby in front of his majesty and her majesty they never told me it was wrong of me to call sky baby! maybe i should go and ask them if it is wrong of me to call my little sister as baby" faes said and even nodded looking in the direction of where king ladon and queen nuri were seated talking with some nobles.
richard face paled as he heard what faes said. if she went to them asking this then it would eventually lead to him and there was already investigation going on for the trouble in the ceremony.
"ah! i apologize your highness, i was just noticing it wasn't to offend you. her highness can call her sister her highness princess sky however she wants!" Richard said bowing. then he excused himself not daring to stay with the troublesome princess anymore
"that was cool! i didn't knew you had such a side?!" adrian whispered smiling amused
"you haven't seen anything yet!" faes replied with her own smile as she turned to a pillar and nodded.
the reporters were not allowed in the ceremony but in the party they were at every corner. faes just encountered one reporter who seem to be recording princess sky on her way and asked them to record everything happening here.
the recorder was more than happy as he knew richard well and he was also not happy when richard tried to force princess sky to eat chocolates at this age. together with princess faes they planned something and now a surprise will wait for Richard tomorrow.
"just wait and watch a good show! after that not many would cause trouble for sky and me" faes whispered to adrian as blake approached her and extended his hand.
"can i have this dance your highness?" blake asked
faes nodded taking blakes hand and excused herself from adrian who was now grinning widely amused. it seem like the elder princess have many tricks on herself but it was a good thing!
blake took faes to the dance floor where several nobles already were present. they greeted faes and blake before the music began and everyone began dancing.
the onlookers watched faes dance with blake and found that her movement was graceful and not at all out of tune, it was like the dance came naturally and the gracefullness was already present in their princess as she moved around. blake was already quite popular and a great dancer but when paired with faes they seem to take the whole attention to themselves. just like an eternal being!
when the song ended faes and blake bowed to each other and faes sighed pouting slightly.
"i am quite hungry now after all this dancing i will excuse myself!" she whispered to blake who grinned escorting faes to the seating area for royals where food was already prepared.
after eating and mingling around again and dancing with a few other noble boys the ball ended and faes returned to her chamber. after checking on sky and taking sky to her own room in the palace, faes changed her dress and went to sleep.
