a letter appeared in front of faes startling her out of her thoughts. the letter was floating in front of her but when faes saw the letter which was titled as 'when sky transforms' and was referred to her she cant help but smile as she took the floating letter.
the system only sent the letter instead of a notification like always and when faes saw it floating around her looking proud she turned amused.
'system scan everything here and tell me if anything is wrong and also scan the people and make a list' faes ordered the system but before she can open the letter she heard king aiden
"princess faes can you help princess sky to get to the centre of the magic circle?" king ladon asked. faes nodded and took sky to the centre of the largest magic circle in the centre of the room. their seats were forming a circle around the room. the biggest magic circle was at the centre surrounded by many small magic circles.
faes helped sky to stand on the magic circle and then gave her a smile and pat on the head. "baby don't worry i am right there if anything happens i will get to you instantly and you can also enter mystic fog castle if you want alright?" faes spoke in a voice that only sky was able to hear. though faes didn't believe that entering mystic fog castle would help, but she said that to assure sky.
sky nodded as her slight nervousness vanishing as she was filled with excitement but faes wasn't done yet
"baby promise me that you will come back to your older sister transformed into your human form and without any injury or drawback. this ritual have many risks but you have to stay firm and get through the pain of your body morphing, treat it as a task that papa used to give us, i will make sure no one will attack you and you make sure you morph without any trouble" faes said
sky can sense the worry of faes and she can also understand that faes wants her to make sure that she gets through this ceremony. when sky heard faes concern and plan she was filled with determination.
sky was not going to let her older sister down and will show her that she was strong. even though she liked being treated like a child that she was faes always treated sky more like a partner than a sister or guardian that made sky happy. faes gave her freedom to do whatever she wants, will scold her when she makes mistakes and will also talk to her before deciding many things like a partner.
sky thought that she can never get a better sister than faes so she was going to do whatever faes wanted. sky nodded determined to transform into her human form without worrying her older sister.
faes left sky after patting her head again and went to her seat. she had noticed that when she was talking to sky and patting her head some nobles have given her disapproving looks and even disgust filled looks. faes was sure that something was wrong and she was correct as she got the result of the system scan.
[host there seem to be a problem!] the system floated on faes shoulder as it said in an urgent voice
[everything required for the ritual is in place and properly checked but the magic in the room is heavier than required. the power of the material used is greater than it should be and this is causing the mana in the room to increase]
the system said,
'but what's wrong with it? more mana means that it will help sky overcome the pain faster right?' faes asked confused
[no host! the mana quantity while transforming differs for everyone. when a normal dragon transforms they require low amount of mana as they don't have much special powers, nobles who have strong powers requires more amount of mana while the royal dragon who are most gifted in powers requires the largest amount of mana while transforming. the amount also differs according to age, the more the age the more the mana required] the system explained.
'but sky is a royal hence she might need more mana?' faes was still confused and the stupid system was wasting her time not telling the problem to her directly.
[host even though princess sky is a royal she is still an infant and the amount of mana that she would require will be lower than what other royals would need. the amount of mana the magic circles in the room are currently gathering could be said to be too much for the transformation of a five year old royal dragon who is generously gifted. if the magic activated then princess sky might die from the excess mana that would try to enter her body while morphing]
this made faes go alert as she looked towards sky. 'you stupid system! cant you have told that to me sooner instead of telling that big description?' faes shouted in her mind at the system which shivered.
while she was talking to the system the magic circle have already activated and the mana had already began to gather in it around sky.
faes panicked trying to think what can be done when she remembered aiden's letter. she quickly opened it careful not to let others see what she was doing while she read the letter along with keeping an eye on sky.
[dear faes,
this is to explain to you that how a dragon changes and what the ritual and its procedure is so you can help sky when she transforms in the royal capital. i wont be able to see that but i hope that you will be there for sky along with others.
the morphing uses magic circles that gathers mana from the surrounding according to our affinity and sends it in the body. the mana helps the body transform into other form but the process is extremely painful. if even a slight mistake is made then the transformation can fail and the dragon might never transform or even die in the process]
this made faes panic but she continued to read. the procedure was explained in detail and all the requirements and their uses. the dangers and probabilities of mistakes and chances of survival was also written by aiden.
[when the amount of mana was used excessively then the chances of the dragon surviving are lower than 10% but if the someone manages to absorb the excessive mana then the survival rate might increase. the magic circle are powerful enough to not let any amount of mana to leave and be absorbed by someone else but if you manage it then that might result in involving you in the ritual. the ancestors would not like it and would test you together with the person undergoing transformation though separately.
if you pass the test than you will survive with special powers but if you don't it might danger the other person too]
faes gulped as the amount of mana increased in the room and began to circle around sky.
faes only had one thought 'scary and dangerous!' as she continued to read.
aiden also explained if someone else tried to stop the ceremony after being started then the transforming person would not only be unable to morph but they might even destroy their cultivation and wont be able to cultivate again.
[i hope no problems occur while sky is transforming but in case there is you can read the letter and try to solve it without hurting either of you! faes you are my daughter just like sky, i don't want either of you to get hurt.

faes held her tears as she sent the letter in her inventory focusing on sky. sky was now engulfed with the various types of magic particles and qi and looked like she was in pain. faes can feel sky's determination but she can also feel that sky was in extreme pain.
faes looked around everyone were watching sky intently but they haven't noticed that something's wrong yet.
without hesitating faes decided that she was going to absorb the extra amount of mana. she will deal with the trial later! keeping and increasing sky's chances of survival were more important currently.
but just as faes was going to try and let the mana enter her a voice sounded in the silent room
"stop!"
