faes watched everyone staring at her with wide eyes even blake. 'did i said something wrong?' faes thought as she gulped. she was already nervous and was doing her best to behave, but somehow, she said something she should not have.
"i apologize princess faes but can you elaborate the meaning behind your words? last wish of former king aiden? what happened to big brother aiden?" kind ladon asked coming out of his daze but he seem to be freaking out from inside to faes.
"ah! i apologize your majesty, if my words were not clear. i should tell you the story from the beginning i suppose, ofcourse if your majesty allows" faes said relaxing that they were actually shocked by the fact that she said last wish and she didn't said anything inappropriate.
"if you will please" king ladon crossed his arms as he focused on her, even queen nuri and both the prince were now focused on her.
faes took a deep breath and began her story which she had modified as not everything is believable including her coming back to life and getting powers.
"as you know king aiden left the capital city to keep everyone safe, he went to a cave deep in the forest where he was living and fighting with the cult members to keep his eggs safe. one and a half year ago he was attacked by some powerful foes who managed to get to the eggs injuring king aiden lethaly. they were cursemancers as they tried to take the eggs away king aiden didn't let them and got cursed while two of his eggs also got cursed and got destroyed.
on the other hand as you might know i ran away from my kingdom because of some personal reasons i accidentally arrived at the cave and got between the last egg and the attacker. i was also injured but my powers which were dormat awakened saving both me and the egg.
king aiden finished off the attackers and ended the fight but he was only left with about two year of life remaining due to the curse. it was a high level of curse which was mixed with some kind of poison eating away his life force slowly.
as i was new with my new powers king aiden took me in as his disciple and trained me. soon we drew close and after consulting my family from kingdom altai king aiden adopted me and made me his last child's guardian as i saved the egg.
sky here is the last remaining child of king aiden and we both are bonded by a soul contract made under king aiden's supervision. she was born two months ago. brother blake also knew that i was with king aiden and he had adopted me for the past year but he kept it hidden because of king aiden's wish.
three days ago papa! king aiden took his last breath saying he was going to be with his love and he gave me that letter to give you when i arrive here, he contacted big brother blake and told him to come fetch sky and me hence he left in hurry without telling anyone"
faes finished and glanced around the room. everyone had tears in their eyes just like faes and sky. They clearly believed her story, which made faes relax slightly. at least they didn't shouted or attacked her in disbelief.
king ladon glanced at blake who nodded with tears flowing from his eyes "i was slow in getting there, if i had known uncle aiden was on his deathbed i would have hurried. i met princess faes and princess sky halfway in the forest where i got to know about this news" blake said
there was silence in the whole room as everyone was lost in their own thoughts. faes who had already accepted the fact that aiden was gone and had her cry controlled herself and wiped her tears with a handkerchief she had and patted sky's head. sky was snuggling in her neck clearly sensing her sadness and nerves.
after the silence extended for several minutes, King ladon wiped his tears and picked up the envelope, opened it, and read the letter. he sighed tears flowing from his eyes as he read the letter again and then kept it back in the envelope.
"this is true that big brother isn't with us anymore we have to tell this news to whole kingdom before welcoming both princesses. adrian!" king ladon called
"yes royal father" adrian turned to his father
"you make the announcement to the whole kingdom that we will be mourning late king aiden's death" king ladon ordered and turned to faes
"we respect king aiden's wishes and accept you in our family princess faes, princess sky. this is your home now and you are welcome to live here, if you wish to leave for altai we wont hold you back" king ladon said
"we will stay here for the meantime your majesty thank you for accepting us. i want sky to stay with her family and learn more about dragons as i cant teach her that. king aiden was my father too and i respected him more than myself." faes replied bowing her head.
"you are now our daughters! come here let mother hug you" queen nuri said getting up and hugging faes tightly along with sky. faes who was shocked by the sudden hug stifled but relaxed after sometime and hugged queen nuri back.
"let go then we have too much work to do" king ladon said as he too got up. then king ladon along with both the prince left leaving faes and sky with queen nuri, faes glanced at blake unsure but when she saw him nod in return faes relaxed as she watched blake leave.
"lets get you both settled and gather some butler servant and guards for you come follow mother" queen nuri said
"uh! i apologize for the offence but i already have some servants back in kingdom altai, your majesty queen nuri, but i am sure sky would like new people to play with her right baby?" faes turned to sky who nodded obediently
"oh dear! they are back in altai, not here! you are now not only princess of kingdom altai but also kingdom reptiliance. you will at least need a butler and guard!" the queen shook her head as she continued
"and why are you calling me that formally? we are now family! as you are brother aiden's daughters call me aunt nuri or mother!" nuri said making faes sigh internally. it looks like when she asked god for a loving and good family he was feeling happy hence he gave her more than one family. first the original family of this body, then aiden and now aiden's brother!
faes nodded giving in to her fate as usual as she followed aunt nuri out of the room
