The day started off well for Azrael, his friend passed the test, and he could be more at ease. But his heart was still restless about his parents.
"Well, this is great. But shouldn't you start to get going to your accommodation and get ready to leave?" Titus looked at Azrael.
"Oh, yes, I almost forgot. I am going to have to leave you guys, but it's fine since well. Sorins in good hands, so I don't have to worry and will be back to revisit you guys!" Azrael waved and vanished as he ran happily towards the dorm he was staying in.
"He really is interesting, isn't he Sorin?" Titus had stood up in the doorway. He tilted his head slightly backward a little to look at Sorin, who was sitting down behind him.
Sorin looked up and nodded in undoubtedly agreement to Titus's words.
Titus smiled lightly.
"Should I start getting ready to leave? Should I take anything with me?" Sorin raised the question. Titus looked at Sorin and thought about it for a second.
"Well, is there anything you desperately need? Since most of the equipment is at the guild and everything you need will be provided by us. So I don't think you will need anything much unless you don't want to depart from it" Titus turned around; he always looked ready for business but always warm towards others.
Sorin, on the other hand, was time, scared of everyone, and shy. Titus got ready to take Sorin away, back to a guild. A space where there are many kinds of people from different races and backgrounds.
"I don't think I need anything here. But I will pack in a few things to keep with me." Sorin got to a bag to start packing things in.
But just before he was going to start, Titus threw him something. "Here, use this; it's a Holoinv. It should be able to store more than your backpack? I will wait outside. Take your time, okay." Titus proceeded to move outside and left Sorin to pack his things
Sorin fitted it on, and up popped a screen.
[WELCOME, THIS IS A HOLOINV!!!
NOW YOU PROBABLY WONDERING WHAT A HOLOINV REALLY IS? WELL, I AM HERE TO TELL YOU THAT!
THIS DEVICE IS A HOLOINV; IT IS USED TO FOR MESSAGING, HOLOGRAPHIC CALLS, AND STORAGE OF ITEMS.
THE DEVICE GETS HIDDEN WHEN NOT IN USE AND CAN BE SUMMONED UPON THE NEED FOR THE ITEM. THE ITEM COMES AT DIFFERENT LEVELS, AND THE ONE YOU CURRENTLY HAVE IS CONSIDERED THE LOWEST GRADE ITEM.
ALSO, NOTE YOU WILL RECEIVE MESSAGES FROM THE EMPIRE, AND ANYONE CAN CONTACT YOU THROUGH THE HOLOINV. THERE ARE MULTIPLE OTHER USES FOR THE HOLOINV WOULD YOU LIKE TO FIND?
YES OR NO]
Sorin read the message and contemplated for a bit. Then answered the machine with hast; it was pointless to think through the decision. "No, but thank you for the little information. Can I hear the rest out later?"
[ YOUR ANSWER CONFIRMED AS 'NO'
YES, YOU ARE ABLE TO VIEW THE REST OF THE MESSAGE AT A LATER DATE. ENJOY YOUR DAY!!]
The message closed, the system went away. Sorin tried using the Holoinv but realized he did not know how to actually operate it. "Ummm, Holoinv, how do I open the inventory function?"
[HELLO AGAIN. THE WAY TO MAKE THE HOLOINV POP UP IS TO EITHER AS ME DIRECTLY, OR YOU SWIPE OVER THE HOLOINV FROM YOUR ELBOW SIDE TO YOUR WRIST WITH 2 FINGERS.
THE HOLOINV WILL THEN APPEAR, AND YOU CAN THEN TAP ON THE SCREEN TO NAVIGATE. YOU CAN CHOOSE DIFFERENT LANGUAGES ETC.
DO YOU NEED ANY FURTHER HELP?]
Soring looked at the screen and made his decision. "Can you open the inventory for me, holoinv? Also, can I just call you hollow?"
[I DON'T MIND BEING CALLED HOLLOW, I SHALL IN LIST THAT AS THE NAME YOU SHALL CALL ME BY.
YES, I AM ABLE TO OPEN UP THE INVENTORY]
The holoinv system guide pulled up the inventory section. There was a distorted space where only non-living organisms could go into it. Anything with a heartbeat could not enter a holoinv space.
Sorin's face slightly glowed up. As he saw the inventory.
Sorin tried to touch it but got zapped. He then pulled his hand back in that same instant.
"Ouch!", he then looked at his hand to see if anything was hurt. He then just waved his hand up and down, trying to relieve the pain.
He let the pain pass and started to pack his things inside the inventory. There were 4 to 5 pieces of things to put away. Barely any time has passed, and everything has been put into the inventory.
"And that should be it. Some clothes, some of my equipment, my book of recipes, and…." He picked up 2 photographs of him and his parents. He stared at the pictures. His mind had gone blank.
He reminded his parents, the times he laughed with them. The times they showed him how they used their magic abilities to do their jobs. The presents he had received and the life lessons and descriptions he had to learn and go through.
"Mommy…. Daddy…... I miss you. Please, please watch over me. I found good people, and I want to live a good life. So help me, please. I want you guys by my side always." he started to cry. His tears began to blur his eyesight. The tears fell onto the pictures, he dropped the picture, trying to stop the crying.
His heart started to sink in; the energy inside of him wanted to shout out. His insides twisted a little bit, he covered his mouth be for he shouted out.
As this was happening, Titus came in as he was a bit worried. "Hey, Sorin? Is everything alright in here? Are you okay?" Titus walked in and saw Sorin on the floor sobbing.
He stood in the door and halted. Sorin cried and continued to cry and never even noticed Titus, who had come in.
Titus then came towards Sorin, tapped him on his shoulder; Sorin turned around, his eyes swollen. His heart empty, he received a hug from Titus, "It's going to be alright; I don't know why you are so sad or what you're going through. But I am here, and so is Azrael; we are here for you now. Talk to us. We are here for you." Titus hugged him. Sorin cried in his arms and held nothing back.
They hugged for a couple of minutes till Sorin calmed down and regained himself. "Mr. Titus, I am sorry you had to come in and saw me crying. It's just my parents; they were one day hoping to be well known for their alchemy and medicine skills. They always wanted to join a guild and move forward, but- But because they were demons, no one wanted to help us get to the main city" his voice was soft, and the fragments of his parent's sentiments filled his words.
Titus looked at him, his glasses on his face. His face was almost shocked but a bit disgusted by the racism of the people. "That is truly sad, but now you have the opportunity to make them proud. So look forward, cause there's nothing we can do about the past. We can only change the future. So why not look to how you going to change the future?" Titus puts his hands on his knees to stand up; he dust's himself off. Titus reaches out a hand to Soren, "Let's make you succeed and make your parents proud and fulfill your promise to Azrael."
Soren wipes his tears. He takes his hand and reaches out towards Titus. Their hands came together in a handshake; that moment marked the changing point in Soren's life with the help of his new friends, Titus and Azrael, who care for him.
Azrael's side….
Azrael was on his way to the inn he was starting in. Azrael sneezes, *huhcho* "do I have a cold? Nah, it can't be. Well, we were about to leave, and I got a few more months with them. Will the time fly by? Or will it be slow?" Azrael thought to himself. "*Time moves fast and slows depending on what you doing; I don't want these fun things to end but, I need to help my family as soon as possible.*" He starts picking up his clothes; he has started to think over what had happened these past days. About his time with Soren, the bullies, the people he is around. The difficulty of being a hero. What is it meant to be a hero? What will it take to be a hero that is acknowledged by everyone? He thoughts blocking out his sense of time and space, every thought seeming to be endless,
"Azrael, you ready?!" Someone had shouted for him, grabbing his attention. The person who had come to call him was….
