"Did you get anything out of them?" my boss asked him in a grim tone. He looked feral, like the devil himself, gone was his repartee self.
"Yes my lord."
The thug replied with a slight bow to my boss. What kind of endearment, was it? It was the twenty-first century for god's sake. What was my boss, a fucking king or something?
The hulk was extremely reverenced towards my boss. He looked a little edgy around Jedrick. I couldn't believe a guy his size was intimidated by my boss.
Hmm… maybe, in the mafia people address the leader as 'Lord'. But his fear for my boss didn't make any sense.
"How wonderful,"
Jedrick gave him an evil smirk.
"Now speak!" he commanded but the thug's gaze shifted to me and looked at my boss unsurely. Jedrick too noticed his hesitancy.
"He is harmless. You can speak in front of him but on second thought…" my boss trailed and his eyes locked with my form. I looked back and forth between them and blinked my eyes, once, twice, and thrice. I knew that look on Jedrick, I knew what he was going to say.
Oh! Boy, please, not this time, especially not in this place.
'Mr. Sandros, why don't you enjoy yourself while we discuss." He suggested. To hell with his suggestion, I was not going to leave his side and get myself involved with these thugs.
You were already involved with them, a little voice reminded me. I flipped her the bird, internally.
Only God knows, what happens if one of these thugs realized that I was a girl. My boss could be oblivious to the fact due to his inexperience with females, but the same thing couldn't be told about these men.
"Nah, I am good, Thank you." I waved off his suggestion and looked at a guy who was snoring at the couch, probably drunk himself to his core. I blinked my eyes and frowned at him.
But as usual, Jedrick ignored my answer and focused on the girls that were on either side of Mr. Hulk. The girls giggled and twirled their hair with their index fingers and gave a longing look at my boss. My boss ignored their suggestive look.
"Ladies! Take him to the bar and keep him entertained until I return for him." My boss told them with a stoic expression. My eyes widened.
"This is not fair, Mr. Jedrick," I whined and pouted. His eyes strayed on my lips. He shook his head with a confused look and looked away from me.
The girls stood up from their spot and wrapped their arms on either side of me and dragged me to the bar. I sulked at his decision.
My boss didn't even spare me a single glance. I glared at his side profile as I was being dragged. I was chugged on one of the bar stools and the two girls occupied either side of my stool.
I was anxious. I felt like an abducted child, looking for her mother.
"What is your name?" one of the girls with blond hair asked me. She was examining her nails as if she was bored with the entire drama.
"Err… Reynold Sandros." I whispered.
"Reynold… hmm, I like it." the redhead declared and looked me up and down like a piece of meat. After scanning me, she gave me a tantalizing smirk, as if she was planning to do wicked things to me.
Oh boy, was I in trouble?
"You look cute," she stated. The blond head's focus drifted to a muscular guy. She seems to be interested in him.
"Err…hmm…thanks?" I stuttered awkwardly scratching my neck. The redhead giggled and put her hand on my thigh which made me jump. She laughed at me, her eyes crinkled at the corner.
"Just relax, I don't bite." She smirked at me, which causes perspiration to run throughout my body. Only, if she knew that I was not a 'He' in fact a 'Her'.
She interlocked her left arm with my right arm and grazed at it with the tip of her fingers. I was so damn uncomfortable.
Excuse me, ma'am, I was not interested in you or any females in this world.
"Damn, your hands are so soft," she mumbled and rubbed her thumb at the back of my palm with bewilderment. Of course, it was soft, because I make sure to regularly, moisturize my body without fail.
"Softer than me," she murmured and her forehead creased up with confusion as if, she couldn't believe that my skin was softer than her. What should I do? Yes, right…guys get angry over petty things, right? Even if they don't, I had to distract her.
"Excuse me?" I made my voice gruff and strong. She was startled and she jerked her hand away from me. I glared at her. At least, I tried to. She raised her eyebrows at me with a conceited look.
"Awe…did I hurt your manly feelings? I can make up to you," she gave me a sly smile and winked at me. My throat turned dry as the Sahara. I felt like I ate sand. Curse my boss. Because of him, I was in this awkward situation.
"Err…no thanks. I have to use the restroom. Excuse me," I stood up from my barstool as if my ass caught on fire. She giggled at me with a mirthful gaze. I walked in an unknown direction and I realized, I had no idea where the restroom was located.
"Seems like a lamb has lost its way among the pack of wolves," A deep voice muttered behind me.
I jumped up in fright and swirled around to see a decent-looking guy, leaning on the wall with a haughty expression on his face. He looked so harmless, but I knew better to trust someone from this place.
"I…I was looking for my boss," I muttered and looked around my place. I realized that I was the only one standing in this corridor. No one was present here, I was dressed up as Reynold, the very thought alone put me at ease. I decided to get back to the bar.
As I took my first step, he blocked my path and looked me up and down with an intense gaze.
"Wait, seems like you are in a hurry." He gave me a sly sneer.
"What is your name?" he enquired me with a psychotic look on his face. I avoided his question and tried to walk away from him but the keyword was 'Tried'.
"I asked you a question, didn't I?" he again blocked my way but this time he pulled out a gun. My eyes widened with alarm. He examined his gun, casually, as if he was looking at his nails.
My eyes enlarged and solely zoned on the gun in his hand. My heart thundered against my ribcage with trepidation. My stomach dropped.
I took a step back and my back hit the wall. My already widened eyes slowly rose to his face. He looked impatient and he raised his eyebrows at me as if he was challenging me.
"R…Reynold Sandros," I stuttered with dreadfulness. He hummed with a slight nod. His cat-like green eyes were exclusively focused on my face.
"Interesting, your name doesn't match with your face, don't you think?" he asked me and took a step closer to me. I gulped with consternation. Did he realize that I was a girl?
I knew that I couldn't disguise myself as a man for a very long time because my face looked very feminine. An experienced guy in the field of women could easily tell that I was a girl.
"I think my name goes well with my face." I defended myself with a grimace. He looked entertained by my little outburst.
"Who is your boss?"
He asked me.
"Reh…"
"What is going on here?" A powerful voice cut me off. It was my boss, he looked lethal but the mere sight of him revitalized me and I heaved a sigh of relief.
"Mr. Jedrick!" I called his name and his eyes focused on me. I would have never guessed that I would feel protected with him.
He strode to my side with his hands tucked inside his pockets. His aura was so powerful and intimidating. The guy beside me looked at my boss with deference. He slightly bowed his head as a sign of showing his respect.
"What are you doing here, Mr. Sandros?"
My boss enquired me with an unruffled look.
"I was lost on my way to the washroom, I couldn't find it, so I decided to get back to the bar but on my way back, I was bumped into him." I narrated my little story and pointed out the guy beside me, accusingly.
"Zephyr, care to explain." My boss asked the stranger with a stoic expression.
"He looked suspicious and I almost thought he was a girl disguised as a guy,"
