A dazzling light shone in my sight and I used my palm for protection. The light backed from me and I was able to look into the white background. Peculiar drops of every colour begin to drip from above, and I surveyed the area for a while until a familiar voice took my attention.
"You need to wake up Reccy. Everybody needs you. Clay does too. I need you the most. Wake up and save the world."
Abruptly, a young boy stood like a dot far-away who probably spoke. Curiously, I proceeded towards him.
The last memory of what happened began to come back and I apprehended that maybe I was asleep in dreams.
But that time I didn't want to wake up. I desired for that boy to come in view. As I got closer, I could perceive his silver hair, red eyes and a bold smile. I deeply felt that I must had known him. I increased my speed but could see his body vanishing into the white background. On the spur of the moment, one familiar dead body fell and I shook in my spot.
Gathering up my courage, I forwarded to see who the body belonged to but abominably I was taken aback by more of the dead bodies falling from above, more blood flowing near my feet. I tried to fight a rising panic as I kept shaking in fear. The only thing then I could see was red blood dripping and spreading all over.
I shrieked, shook and ran around to escape from whatever that was happening.
I pressured my eyes to open from the frightful nightmare and sat back up.
It ended. It finally did.
I looked around and tried to digest the look of my surroundings. My eyes shifted to Clay and I tightly wrapped my arms around him.
"Woah, Beca. You are practically shivering. What can I just do? should I call the doctor? Or?"
"Relax. I-I really don't fe-eel any pain." I touched the back of my head to notice any pain, but there wasn't any, quite surprsingly.
"LOL, you just fell from two floor above and you didn't get hurt?"
"Uh no?"
"That's surprising. But you scared the shit out of me. And why were you climbing the tree?" He gently asked with a wry smile and innocence within his eyes. As if nothing happened between us.
"So what do you think?! You were repeatedly ignoring me ! I had to get you to talk!"
He scoffed but didn't seemed to get bothered by what I said, "Wait, so it was you at the door?"
"Uh yeah. Then who would it be?"
He widened his eyes as in realization and anxiously ran his fingers through his hair before standing up.
"I-I'm sorry. I tho-thought it was ..."
"Who? Who, Clay?" I asked , also getting up from the bed .
"You won't believe what's happening to me after the prom. It's -it's too complicated. Too much."
"You won't believe what's happening to me either." I added. He averted his eyes to meet mine prior to explaining his situation.
"I can see , hear and feel Charlotte."
The corners of my eyes crinkled as I tried to comprehend what he just said. I could see the tears swimming in his eyes, making me umb with shock.
"What are you imlying on Clayton?"
" I dunno. It-Its all confusing." He once again ruffled his hair anxiously, "Every time, I come forward towards any mirror, I can feel her presence, her voice and her smiles. An-And she talks to me! My sis laughs, gives me advices an-and makes me feel completed."
My stomach clenched while listening to his peculiar situation and I tried to relate that to mine. Charlotte was dead and buried in front of our own eyes, so she must not be alive. There was no chance , so what was he blabbering about?
"Can you see her?"
"No, its not even like Christmas Carol ya'know? Except the voices." he stated and I took that moment to be my chance to tell him everything.
"Samesies here Clay."
"What do yo-you mean? Charlotte's been talking to you as well?"
"No, but someone else has been. 4 years ago, an adolescent voice with no identity began talking to me, and after the break he began conversing with me once again just before the prom night. Just like you said, no face, no presence but only feelings. Except you know who your one is."
''So you are practicaly saying that both us are special catagorized people who are positively haunted by various known and unknown spirits of dead people? That- is insane." His set of words sounded comical but I would rather sit down and think nonchalantly.
"Maybe. Who knows what happens in this universe. But since when did the assumed spirit of Charlotte began talking to you?"
"Before the prom night, just like you."
"Did you ask her about what's happening- these strange_"
"Yeah of course, but she won't. Normally she talks to me casually, but when I ask her about any of these , either she vanishes from the scene or changes the topic."
"We need to find out what's wrong. These things- aren't normal."
"Not at all normal. Worsed normal than Avatar. Ya'know, white and blue people union compared to humans and spirits union." I chuckled, nodding to his logic. That's when I remembered about the misunderstanding that caused us to part.
"So, you and Austin eh?" he asked, with a nervous chuckle. My forehead furrowed but I was able to keep up a gentle beam. I shook my head and haltingly I depicted every part of the prom night. The color drained out of his face and for a while both of us became mute with terror as refered to the paranormal incidents occuring.
The silence was ceased by the ringing bell of the doorway and we went downstairs to open it. In front standing was a girl with berlin blue, flawlessly straight hair covering one of her downturned eyes. As far as I can presume, she must be one of those so called cool badass girls, giving those I-don't-give-a-shit attitude.
"Does Travis Lincoln stay here?" She asked with much of a low key attitude, and we denied her question politely.
"Ugh, that bastard. Where does he stay? Oh and sorry for the inconvenience , I was given the wrong address. My bad."
Just as we were about to close the door, we heard her talking to probably herself complaining like, "Yeah right spirit. You were right. Now shut up and leave me alone scumbag-gy loudmouth!"
I glanced at Clayton before stopping her on her tracks. She swung her head to face us but seemed less interested.
"Whatcha want?" she asked in a demanding voice.
"Who were you talking to, you know soomeone_"Her face paled but she uttured confidently, "What do you care? My personal issue, ju-just drop it!"
"Well we care cause abbhorently queer bullshits are happening in our lives and we do care?"
She seemed rather startled as she lifted an eyebrow suspiciously, "Let me then enchant you, spirits are talking to me out of nowhere and I hope that my life has more of those abbhorent-ly queer bullshits than yours." She scoffed and was about to turn her back if I didn't speak up, "No, yours is equal to our probs. "
"Once again, she turned to us, "Wha-what do you mean?"
"Spirits are talking to us as well.'
She pressed her fingers to her lips and shoved her hair away rom the face, inching forward.
"We do need to discuss." She mentioned and we took her inside. Each of us explained our own set of circumstances and the only similar thing we figured out is that one or the other way, they were the specially developed spirits of the demised people whom we knew as well as were fond of or they meant something very important.
But what did the camouboy A.K.A. Allen mean to me?
