Chapter 8 - What should I do I do

A new day and a new beginning, it was a sunny day and winds flowed like breeze giving a gentle touch to anyone walking in this climate. The roads were empty, the town cinema hall was full and children were seen accompanied by their parents for a walk in the environment.

Jonas was seen with his rare boredom.

He was in his room rolling from one side to another. Complaining now and then.

"What should I do, I do, I do" singed Jonas relieving his boring schedule for today.

"There are no classes today, there is no one to play, what should I do, I do" singed Jonas continuing to his next stanza.

"Should I play the Legacy cards?" Jonas asked himself.

'I wanted to go out, but everywhere everyone is accompanied by his parents' thought Jonas in his head.

'It sucks' he continued complaining cursing the stupid weather.

While Jonas was complaining in and out relieving his boredom. His parents Arnas and Nasha were engaged in a fierce battle against a red weird-looking rhinoceros.

"Its shell is extremely tough," Arnas shouted through his earpiece to his wife who was equally fiercely looking toward the monster.

"I will bind it and you will dash toward him" Nasha produced green sleek looking tentacles binding the monster's one leg which was negated by his red corrosive skin.

"It won't work this way," said Arnas dashing toward the monster creating ice locks near its legs.

While he dashed toward the monster with his sharp-edged ice blade.

Nasha quickly sought a solution using paralysis dust to slow him down.

*Roaarrr* *Growwwg*

The monster struggled through the ice locks and the paralysis dust.

While the duo continued with their operation.

Nasha released her corrosive tendrils which were unaffected by the red layer of the monster while Arnas used his ice blade to pierce it into the monster's eyes passing through the monster's brain.

The monster didn't know any fear and used his last remaining strength to pierce through Arnas shoulder. Arnas armour was way to the top.

But it also failed to protect its wearer from harm.

Arnas left shoulder was pierced. He showed a painful expression but didn't stop for the monster's bidding.

"Yeaaaaagh" Arnas ferociously used his last bit of strength to pull the blade from its brain cutting the whole cross-section of the head.

The monster stopped moving. It was dead.

Bits and bits of tissue, blood and brain mattered splattered making Arnas drenched in blood.

Arnas just sat on his butt on the ground not caring about the monster corpse or the blood matter surrounding him. He gasped for his breath covering his left shoulder making out a painful groan.

Nasha came to support him.

"You were reckless there" Nasha reprimanded him for his carelessness while using her vitality to make green algae appear on his left shoulder providing him with much needed first aid.

The injury was serious. But it was not so serious that it could take the life of a veteran hunter like Arnas.

"Well, I knew you... couldn't sup -- port me" said Arnas while his painful expression showed a rare smile.

"It's only first aid, you have to go to the camp hospital to get a further checkup," said Nasha storing the corpse in a ring and providing continuous vitality to Arnas.

It had been draining on her too. So they decided to rest for some time.

"It was a good fight in a while," said Arnas whose pained expression eased a little.

"Well yeah, it's been a while since you got hurt," said Nasha while knocking on his right shoulder.

"Awww, n-not heree!!" Said Arnas backing a little to get away from his wife.

"Look at you, trying to act tough," said Nasha chuckling.

"It hurts, damnit," said Arnas cursing his wife.

The two were bickering with each other in a forest filled with dangers at each step. They didn't have to care about it. The blood of the monster acted as a warning for the predators to not get close to the area.

The duo packed their weapons and tools and walked toward the city.

While the two had gone through a life and death fight, on another side of the map in a villa in Medanth Town.

A youth had decided to do something to relieve his boredom. The legacy cards.

Silvos, Martha and Jonas had seated roundly around the tea table with a solemn expression on their faces.

It was the youth turn, he has practised day and night for this specific moment. The game that will decide his destiny.

Jonas was watching the cards on his hand which has gone through several rounds of passes and set.

Jonas picked a card from his set with utmost concentration. 'This is it, this is the card that will make me the king of the world' he thought picking two cards.

"I choose these two," said Jonas pointing the two cards towards his two playmates.

He waited. The two had a grim expression. Jonas thought happily that he won at last but it was shattered.

When Martha showed her cards and said embarrassingly "It seems I won again by luck"

Jonas sat with his mouth agape in a dazed manner. The duo couldn't console him anymore.

It was not because that they were apathetic to the tragic condition of this youth. It was because they had won the game thrice consecutively that they had nothing to say anymore

"Why, why does it happen again and again" Jonas cried.

'Am I not destined for greatness' He thought as his whole soul almost left his self.

Seeing his tragic situation the duo proposed.

Silvos said "Young master today is a good day why don't we try something else" coaxing him gently while Martha added "Yes let's try some new, like chocolate Bubble syrup"

Martha added her temptation to which his ears twitched.

Jonas soul drew back into his body as quickly as it left.

He forgot about his tragic defeat. Even the butler and maid were impressed and they cheerfully added.

"Yes why don't we watch the new episode of 'Reyku and his friends' on tv with some drinks"

"Ya let's do it then"

Jonas couldn't be in any better mood and said cheerily in his cute voice "Let's eat."

He was seen sitting on the sofa watching his favourite cartoon with chocolate bubble syrup.

The duo could only smile wryly.
