Electricity crackled through the air - if that was possible - but it sure felt like one. The tension in the air was suffocating; it stretched and pulsed.
None of them made a move, both stood still as if rooted to the ground. Nessa had resolved to deal with Naomi in her own ways but she forgot that Rita Claire was around.
She was carried away by the taste of supremacy. For once she was in control and not controlled. She couldn't help but wonder if that was how bullies felt? Powerful? Superior?
However, beneath all that glory, Nessa felt cheap. As if she just pushed a part of herself into the deepest abyss. It didn't feel like her.
"Can someone tell me what's going on here?!" Rita's voice rang out once more and this time with authority. The woman didn't request answers, she demanded it.
"It's Nessa!" Naomi was the first to speak up before Nessa could even have the chance to compose herself and the regret she felt, instantly vanished.
