The salty smell of the sea, although, not very pleasant since it is very reminiscent of the dead marine life, brings happy memories about being in school and long nights of having coffee in the school's cafeteria, preparing for tests or for group projects. Fausto spent many nights of his first year alone, with many just falling asleep with the company of a television on low volume and the flashing of static, coloring the room in sporadic intervals. However, to him, they weren't much too different from when he was still living back at home with his parents and sister. The only real difference now was that he would, on occasion, hear the cry of some strange animal coming from the direction of the ocean but Fausto never really put that much attention to it, he knew that there was a lot of life and the sea was bustling with weird and new creatures. Not at all how his childhood was, where the only sign of wildlife was the croaking of frogs when the moon would rise.
