Sabera's Pov
It had been a week since Sam became my second guardian. Cain and I had stayed with him to get ready for the trip to meet my father. Sam acted all kinds of crazy. And of course Cain acted like Cain. He still kept his distance emotionally from me. Hmmm, I just wish he understood that even if I am Lucifer's daughter, he didn't have to act like that. I'm more than confident that my dad would approve, because it would make me happy.
I had just finished packing when Sam popped in.
"So," he said, grinning like a kid with candy, "What's the first thing you want to ask your father?"
I lifted my eyebrows at him, "Well, I'd like to know what he and my mom are like."
The jackal frowned, "Um. You know she's ummm.."
I nodded, "Yes. I know she's gone. But that doesn't mean she isn't with me, here." I point to my heart.
"That's true," he smiled sweetly, "But I meant, what are you going to do about brick brian?"
I sat down, "I'm going to ask dad if I can stay with Cain."
"What if Cain says no?"
"Then he says no, I guess," I put my hands on my lap, "But, I have to try."
Sam sat beside me, "Sabera? If I may be frank with you?"
I nodded.
"Cain is the type of guy who cant let himself be loved. He has never felt like that before," Sam started. "He cares for you, I can see that. And I also see that you have feelings for him. But you need to know that he isn't what you see."
I looked at him confused, "What do you mean?"
The jackal slumped a little, "Well he's a womanizer, and he's never had a committed relationship before."
"So you're saying he's a lost cause?" I asked.
Sam nodded.
Anger shot from my mouth, "Then you don't know him. Cain is sweet and kind. Yes he often stays away from things that make him truly happy, but that's because he thinks he doesn't deserve it. Since I've been beside him, he hasn't had a single girl or guy over. Even though we're not together."
Sam shook his head, "You're going to get your heart broken, Sabera. It would be better to forget it."
"So what if I do!" I snapped. "At least then I know I was just fooling myself. Sam I can't give up on him. I won't give up. Even though we haven't known each other long, I know what I feel. And even if my dad says no, I'll come back here with Cain. I'm not five. No one can tell me where to go or what to do."
Sam hopped off the bed, "And what is that? Say it or I won't believe you, princess."
He looked scary, with his red and yellow eyes. And gravel in his voice.
But I didn't care. Cain is much scarier when he misses breakfast.
I stood at my full hight, looking the demon in the eyes.
Cain had taught me that if I made a declaration, I had the be strong, loud, and clear, "I, Sabera Morningstar, love Cain, my guardian."
Sam flinched at my tone, Cain had said once if I had enough feeling behind my words demons would take it as law.
The jackal bowed his head, ashamed he had gone against my feelings.
"You hear that, Cain?" he said with venom in his voice, "She loves you. So stop pushing her away, or I'll have to knock the crap out of you."
I turned, as Sam walked out. Cain had been eavesdropping. His face looked shocked, as if Sam had put food on his head. What had happened just now?
I looked up at him, "What all did you hear?"
I could see his adams apple bob up and down as he swallowed. He even seemed to be sweating.
"Cain?" I asked.
Instead of an answer, two large arms circled me. I was picked up off the floor, and set back down on the bed.
He buried his face in my neck, "You'd do that for me?" He was crying, his tears running down my neck to my chest. "You'd give up living with your father for me?"
I put my arms around Cains shoulders, "Dad will understand. And even if he didn't, I would still come back here."
I ran my fingers threw his freshly washed hair, "To me you are more than just my teacher. You are my friend, my protector, my first ever crush, and nothing will stop me from caring about you except you."
"Can we take a nap together? Just a nap," he asked.
My heart beat fast at the thoughts that ran around in my mind. But I pushed them aside. Something inside Cain opened when he heard what I said to Sam. And I didn't want it to close just because my head's going fifty shades of demon on me.
I squeezed his arms, "Yeah."
We laid down. It wasn't long before I passed out.

Cain's POV
Cain thought his mind must be broken. Here he was laying beside the next leader of Hell, and brushing her hair threw his fingers. After hearing what Sabera had said to Sam and how she defended him, left no walls left to put up. Cain had closed himself off from any emotional attachment, because he didn't think he deserved love.
Sabera had fallen asleep hours ago, but he couldn't fallow suit. He thought if he did she'd disappear. Cain's head was screaming that this was wrong, but his heart pounded at him that it was right. Did it really matter what Lucifer said? Sabera had already promised to stay with Cain.
He finally came to the conclusion that no matter how much he pushed her away, she wouldn't give up. So, Cain did instead and let his heart open for her. He only hoped the king would approve.
After a few more hours Cain fell into the most comfortable sleep of his life. Before he was out he slurred, "I love you, Sabera."

Sam's Pov
Sam was more than happy with himself. He had gotten Cain to realize that love was possible for even demons like them.
After leaving the room he went outside to make a call.
A gruff male voice answered, "Sam, what is it?"
"I would like to report that both the princess and guardian are safe," Sam answered in a oh so delighted tone.
"Did you get Cain to his senses?"
Sam smiled, "Oh yes, Lord Lucifer. He is, as we speak, telling her how he feels."
Lucifer seemed happy, "Good. If he is who my daughter wants then that is who she shall have."
"My king may I ask you something?"
Silence came from the other end.
Sam continued, "Are you not angry that she would stay here with him?"
Lucifer stayed quiet for a moment before answering, "Yes and no. Sabera has had to grow up without me and the thought of having her ripped from me drives me mad. But she is her own person and deserves happiness. I can only hope that Cain will chose to stay here in Hell with her. I have plans for both of them."
A loud bang came from the phone.
"Damn it!" Lucifer yelled, "Sam I have to go. This new assistant of mine just spilt coffee over my desk."
"No prob...," the phone clicked before Sam could finish.
He shrugged and went to watch tv.
