"Thanks for your help" I said quickly before stepping out of the car.
"Its ok , by the way Deepali, is this your house ?" he asked genuinely.
"No, I live in that house which is at the end of this lane" I spelled out pointing towards the lane.
"Then, why did you ask me to stop the car here ?" he asked curiously.
"It's just that myhouse owner is little strict and she won't tolerate if I stepped out from a stranger's car that too a man, so I have to step out here "I expounded.
"Oh ok , your house owner seems really strict but its ok" he felt it strange but didn't convey it to my.
"Ok bye".
"Wait, you can take this" he gave me his umbrella.
"No its ok" I can't take any more favour from him so I refused.
"You will be completely drenched, so please take this" he said generously.
"Ok but how will I return it to you ?"I asked.
" May I take your phone for a while?"
he asked me with a smile but I was hesitating to give it to him. But then I thought , I don't have anything very personal , so I gave it to him.He type his contact number in my phone and gave it back.
"I have given you my number so you can return it anytime you want to, okay".
"Okay "I replied him with a soft smile leaving my face.
The next day, I called him at morning eight o'clock and he was still asleep , I called him once , twice and at the third time he picked up my call and said "hello" in a hoarse voice . By that time I knew that I had disturbed his sleep and he would scold me for that.
"Hello, who's there?" he asked with his strong deep masculine voice.
"I'm Deepali, we met yesterday , sorry to disturb you but I have to return your umbrella so I was asking".
"What?"
"can we meet ?" I asked him without having a second thought in my mind.
"Now?" he paused for a while."Can't we meet after an hour ?"he asked.
"No, we can't because I'll be busy for the whole day, it's ok, you please send me your address where I can deliver your umbrella" I simply asked.
"Can we meet in the evening"he asked gently.
"Yes, we can" I said.
"Ok, I'll send you the address"he stated.
"Ok bye"I hung up the phone.
