"My angelus," Alex called out before Lia could even open the door. Maybe it was his genuine call to her, or maybe he just wanted to keep the promise, considering he had been the first one to throw the punch.
He didn't need to throw the last one, because the first and only punch he had sent in her direction had reduced her into whatever shell humanity was seeing today.
"I'm really sorry for everything. Maybe we could start over in another life. If we ever meet again, promise you won't run away," Alex added, unsure of why he was even telling her that. He never wanted to see her again.
He had thought things over and the moment she walked out that door, he didn't want anything to do with her anymore. She was proof that love would always break people and most importantly, a reminder that her love had ruined him in ways that Reina's love hadn't.
