They had to skillfully work through this particular scandal, not because they had companies waiting to strike their position, but because they really needed to keep the government contracts coming. These contracts made a huge part of the profits that streamed in yearly.
It had been a while since they had actually won the tender, or rather since Lexi led the team that won the tender. But that didn't matter here because government contracts had to be maintained no matter who got what. Otherwise, their profits would be tanked real bad.
