There was a barrier that had been set, and there was no way Alex would find a way around it. He wasn't that stupid to not see the impact Amelia had on all of these people. They were gruff and buff, but just one word from her, and they would be at her mercy.
He knew this girl was powerful.
He knew from the way Nik talked that Lia was no ordinary girl. She had a lot of power in her hands but never made Alexander feel it, and Alex respected her even more for it.
This was the last time he would be able to see her.
Alex looked at Lia, apologizing profusely even without saying a word. Tomorrow would probably be filled with meetings and shit, but he would pull through. All he could hope for was that she lived a better and safer life.
