Chapter 62 - Lepreshade

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

*************

{Received 700 intelligence}

Sky had just sacrificed another snake. Each snake he sacrificed he would store them in his inventory. Each snake had nearly the same stats as the other, all of their stats were at a thousand or higher, but their stat was their strength.

Sky could feel his stats rising exponentially through each sacrifice. Leveling up or using scrolls paled in comparison.

{Int: 1,672}

{Mana: 24,010/24,010}

{Mind: 1,614}

{Mind stat has reached 1000}

{New ability learned}

{Infinite mana lvl 1: For 6 seconds any skill you use will not consume mana and will ignore all cast timer and cooldown}

{Example: If an ability takes 30 seconds to charge it will now be cast instantaneously}

{Cooldown: 1 day}

{Intelligence stat has reached 1000}

{Mana has increased by 20,000}

{Mana: 44,010/44,010}

{New ability learned}

{Telepathy learned}

{Telepathy: Can now talk to others with your mind. The range of which you can use this ability depends on your intelligence stat when used with this ability}

{Skills now consume 20% → 50% less mana}

{All mana type skills deal 50% → 100% damage}

{New ability learned: Hydrokinesis}

{Hydrokinesis: lvl 1: You can very weakly conjure and manipulate water with your mind}

"So, this is it. All my stats are now over 1,000." Sky couldn't believe it. A week ago his stats were still in the hundreds, now they're in the thousands and growing fast.

Sky believed that with the help of the system his stats would one day reach the same level as the strongest beings he's seen, Boris, Xero. But even with the system's help it would take years of hard work to catch up, not to mention those guys can still grow stronger with scrolls making it harder for him to catch up.

Jules started to worry. She could sense he was getting stronger, one day he would overpower her even at full power and she knew it, and there is nothing she can do to stop him.

Jay and Jericho couldn't sense it but they could tell he was growing stronger exponentially.

Another snake jumped at Sky's neck to bite him, but Sky quickly grabbed the snake's body and slammed it on the ground.

The speed at which Sky moved his hands surprised everyone, even himself. It was thanks to his dexterity stat being higher than the snake's, but also the help of {Enhanced reflexes: lvl 1} and {Supreme hand movement}

{Skill level up}

{Enhanced reflexes: lvl 1 → lvl 2}

The snake found itself frozen near to death. Next a black pentagon appeared underneath him and soon he was dead.

{Received 1,330 strength}

Sky smiled as he threw the snake in his inventory.

"Jules, you think you can make use of the snake's poison to make some potions or something?"

"I can try but I am not confident."

"What about these flowers? These four-leaf clovers? Can you make something out of them?"

"I don't know. I might have to take some to experiment."

"Take as many as you can. All of you can transform things into cards anyways."

Another snake jumped out beside the group to bite Jericho. The snake's head was cut off cleanly by a trident and it was dead.

The blood from its body was so potent it acted like acid and burned through the dirt and grass showing them how powerful its poison was. The trident that was covered in the blood was seemingly unaffected.

Jules was in charge of protecting the weaker crew members by orders of Sky.

Sky would like it if Jules didn't kill the snakes, but since the snakes bodies were highly venomous he couldn't risk his crew members getting poisoned. He might be able to dispel the poison with his evolved dispel skill, but what if he couldn't?

Only he was fully resistant to poison but no one else was. And since it wasn't a weak poison the antidote would most likely not work.

They continued marching through the weird forest full of four-leaf clovers and four-leaf clover-trees. They killed the snakes, sometimes they would attack in pairs, but at the rate Sky was growing they were becoming less of a threat.

Everyone stopped marching when they saw something unusual. In front of them the entire forest turned dark as if something had sapped out the life and light from one part of the forest, not even the dirt and rocks were spared. Light still pierced through that dark part of the forest but it looked creepy.

Sky picked up one of the black four-leaf clovers to examine it better. But the four-leaf clover wasn't a four leaf-clover but a five-leaf clover.

"Interesting. Identify."

{Five-leaf clover}

{An extremely rare clover that is said to bring more luck than a four-leaf clover. It's color had been sapped}

Taking a closer look at the dark part of the forest all the clovers were five-leaf clovers.

"We're going in."

Jules nodded as she had no choice. Jericho and Jay also followed without hesitation.

'Strange, I don't understand this. It's just like the rest of the forest, I don't sense anything dangerous, the only difference is its five-leaf clovers but black. Why is it like this?' Sky thought.

"Have you guys seen or heard something like this?" Sky asked.

Everyone shook their heads.

Just then another snake jumped towards Sky. Sky could feel the snake and grabbed it by its neck. Seeing the snake everyone was weirded out.

The snake was just like every single green snake they had seen, but it was dark just like the rest of the forest. The color had been taken from the snake.

"Even the snake lost its color? That's dangerous." Sky said. The snake blended very well with its environment which made it harder to see.

In twelve seconds the snake died and Sky absorbed its stat. They proceeded deeper into the dark forest.

As they were going deeper Jericho gasped.

"I sense something!"

"Lead the way." Sky said very happily.

Jericho walked to a different direction in which everyone followed. Jericho stopped and pointed down.

"Here, and it is very tiny." Jericho raised her hands to take out the item from beneath the dirt, but couldn't.

Perplexed, she used more of her mana to dig out the item. She strained herself trying to pull out the item that her blood veins started popping out of her forehead.

"Careful, you don't wanna strain too much and have a bathroom accident." Sky spoke from experience.

"..." Jericho looked at Sky embarrassingly. Without saying anything else she walked away.

"Stand back."

Sky used his telekinesis to dig out the item from the dirt. They saw a wooden door that had been placed down.

"Well, that's new." Jericho said. They had never seen a buried door before.

'Identify.'

{Entrance to secret room found}

"Oh, this is the secret room." Sky said. He read this in the quest.

"Ohhh." Jay said with excitement gleaming in his eyes.

"But, we don't know what's inside. Could be something good but we may need to fight our way through it or something."

"So it's not a secret boss room?" Jericho asked.

"Doesn't look like it. Either way I'm taking the risk." Sky pulled the door handle to find out he could not open it.

{Player doesn't meet requirements}

{Requirements: Party members 4/5, collective stats 23k/50k}

"Seriously?" Sky scoffed at the requirements.

He was one member short and their collective stats were too low. Collective stats meant all their stats counted together.

"Well this sucks. Let's go."

"Aren't you gonna open it?" Jules asked.

"Open it if you can. But my strength stat is a bit higher than yours." Sky said.

{Sky Rouge}

{Str: 2,744}

{Jules Mayfeather}

{Str: 2,430}

Jules knew he wasn't kidding. It wasn't long ago when Sky's strength stat was in the three hundreds, now it's above hers.

She pulled the door handle and was unable to open it. She took out her trident and sliced it, stabbed it, but there was not even a scratch on the door or the handle. She tried to break the wall surrounding the door which was made of nothing but dirt, but it felt as if the dirt was protected by a barrier and she couldn't penetrate it.

Jules knew weird things were always happening around Sky and every day she learns something new about him.

Sky and the rest continued killing and sacrificing snakes. His stats kept growing at a phenomenal rate.

{Sky Rouge}

{Str: 4,074 Dex: 1,938 Spd: 2,823 Int: 2,372 Mind: 2,524 Vig: 2817}

What would take months even with the help of his system Sky was able to do it in two days.

"Sky, there's the boss room." Jay pointed in front of them.

Across the dark part of the forest there was a boss room connected to a stone wall.

"Jules, be honest, do you think we can beat this boss with our current stats and abilities?" Sky asked.

"I don't know. All I know is that each boss in every purple dungeon… portal, is unique. It's not their stats we should just fear but their abilities mostly."

"I see. Everyone be careful and don't die. But first, take this." Sky handed Jay and Jules a dungeon escape stone.

"If you feel we might die or something, crush one of them immediately and we all leave the dungeon."

"You can count on us, Captain!"

"Yeah!"

Sky opened the door as everyone entered the boss room with him.

As they entered the room to their surprise they saw the entire room was full of five-leaf clovers, but the clovers still had their color unlike the other five-leaf clovers that had their color stripped.

The clovers had been placed on the ground by someone or something.

"Even with identity there is nothing peculiar about these clovers." Sky examined the flowers. He blew them all away with his wind ability and scattered them to the edges of the room.

Sky noticed something as well upon entering the room, the boss isn't here.

"Do you guys see the boss? I don't sense it anywhere."

Everyone looked around. The room was relatively large but there was nowhere to hide except underneath the pile of five-leaf clovers.

"Captain, don't the boss rooms close right after we enter?" Jay asked.

"Yeah, why do you ask?"

"The door isn't closing."

Sky turned around. And just as Jay said the boss door was still open. It was common knowledge for the boss room to close on its own so no one can get in or out.

Sky touched the doors.

"Is this your doing, Sky?" Jericho asked.

"No, it shouldn't be but I understand why you would think that. Have you heard anything about this, Jules?"

Jules shook her head. "I don't know much about purple dungeons, either. I've only been to one and I never bothered studying about them."

"Wait…" Jay noticed something. He aimed his gun at the wall on the other side of the room and shot it three times in different spots.

The wall crumbled revealing a hidden boss door behind the wall.

{True boss door revealed}

"That's a thing? There are hidden walls?" Sky and the rest were amazed. "How did you see that, Jay?"

"The color was a bit off compared to the rest of the."

Sky and the rest didn't notice it. It was because of Jay's great eyesight amplified by his marksmanship talent that enhances his eyesight, and control over ranged weapons.

"To think purple dungeons have something like this." Jericho couldn't believe it. It was as if this dungeon was designed to fool people into thinking that there is nothing in this dungeon.

They walked to the real boss' door. They entered the room, much like the last room. It was filled with clovers in piles spread across the room, but they were all with five-leaf clovers.

They saw a figure standing in the middle, the figure had no color just like part of the forest they had seen.

It was holding onto a pot and stirring what sounded like tiny pieces of metal. He kept repeating the same word in a high pitched voice.

"Mine! Mine! Mine!"

The figure was chubby but too small to call it a human. It had a thick beard and a small top hat holding a cane. The right part of his hat had a five-leaf clover with its color still on.

Sky saw its face, anger seethed within him.

The figure's face had a long pointy nose, a long chin, distorted teeth that one could barely see. The features of his body reminded him of the very first boss he killed, the goblin.

'Identify.'

{Lepreshade: BOSS}

{What was once a leprechaun is no more. The Lepreshade sold his soul to a powerful being for a pot of gold as gold is his one true love. The entity would find a way to trick the powerful being into more gold which angered it, as a punishment it took its soul, sanity, stats, abilities, luck, pot of gold, and color becoming a shadow of its past self, Lepreshade. Since then he has been looking for ways to get back his soul and his pot of gold}

{HP: 77,760/77,760}

{Mana: 38,830/38,830}

{Str: 7,766 Dex: 7,766 Spd: 7,766 Int: 7,766 Mind: 7,766 Vig: 7,766}

{Loot drop: 1x purple scroll, 5x gold irish beer, 44,000,000 shells, 68,000,000 exp

{Lucky body: All debuffs turn to buffs (DEACTIVATED)}

{Lust for gold: Cannot resist gold}

{Color thief: lvl 9: Strips the color of anything}

{Clover-shield: Absorbs any four attacks (12 hour cooldown)}

{Clover-substitute: Uses a clover to absorb debuffs and damage}

The door closed, and as soon as it did the Lepreshade eerily turned to face the crew.

"MINE! IT'S MINE! MY GOLD!" The Lepreshade grew claws and threw itself at the crew.

"SLOTH!"

{Target has been slowed down by 70%. Debuff has been transferred}

The five-leaf clover on the Lepreshade's hat turned black and had withered.

"SLOTH!" Sky already expected it from reading his description.

{Target has been slowed down by 70%}

The Lepreshade became very heavy at that moment and fell to the ground. It grabbed the five-leaf clover from its hat and was surprised it was withered. It meant that an extremely powerful curse killed it.

He knew it could absorb hundreds of curses that were evolved. This meant that he received a very powerful curse which is why he was surprised to see it had withered.

Jules quickly ran towards it and swung her trident at him. The Lepreshade used its cane to deflect the trident, Jules was sent flying back. The Lepreshade was stronger than her so there was no competition.

Jules used her new flying skill and flew back to hit it again without having to touch the ground first.

The Lepreshade raised his cane and injected a ton of mana into it. It glowed a very blue bright color.

Sky read about this, some creatures are able to manipulate mana, usually humanoid creatures that are bosses.

{Mana: 20,000/38,830}

Jules' eyes were wide open. Even if she used all her mana the boss had more mana than her and it would kill her or leave her seriously wounded if their weapons clashed again.

Suddenly the cane in his hand broke into several pieces and his mana he just used disappeared. Then Jules slash her trident at him but he caught it with both hands.

"DAMMIT!" Jules exclaimed.

"Blindness. Touch. Strength. Weakness."

{Curse of strength: lvl 9: Lowers target damage dealt by 45%}

{Curse of weakness: lvl 9: Target receives 45% more damage}

{Curse of blindness: lvl 9: Target's vision is 45% blocked}

{Curse of touch: lvl 9: Target's ability to handle objects is lowered by 45%}

The Lepreshade felt more powerful curses had been inflicted on it. He was about to run away to grab more five-leaf clovers. If he could grab a bunch he could remove the debuffs and absorb damage.

Bang

A bullet made of fire was shot directly in his eye blinding it. Any other monster would have died from that shot but not the Lepreshade. It ignored the pain in its eye and ran to the clovers.

"Don't let it get to the clovers!"

Sky conjured the wind and blue away the clovers up in the air.

The Lepreshade was about to jump up with a trident barely piercing its back and pushed him away. Jules had thrown away her weapon at it.

The Lepreshade saw how the five-leaf clovers that were in the air burned. Sky used his pyrokinesis to burn all of them.

Bang

The Lepreshade blocked the bullet with the trident Jules threw at him right at Jay.

Jay didn't react until he saw the bullet was floating right in front of his face. A few centimeters closer and Jay would have a hole in his head.

"Phew." Jericho heaved a sigh of relief. Her friend was about to die and she saved him.

"Thanks, Jericho." Jay said, acting cool but he knew he was close to dying.

"Accel world! Field of strength! Mana absorption field! Lightning aura! Super dash! Super strength! Greed! Pow!"

{Super Dash: lvl 6: Increases speed by 80% for 10 minutes}

{Super strength V2: Str in increased by 100% for 1 hour: Ten minute cooldown}

{Lightning aura: for 10 minutes surround yourself with lightning that deals damage to others. Increases speed by 100%} {Scales with speed: D-grade}

{Greed: For one hour all drops from mobs will double, exp included. 8 hour cooldown)

{Pow: Critical chance and damage is increased by 100% for 10 strikes: 1 hour cooldown (reduced cooldown effect does not affect it)}

{Field of strength: All allies will have their strength increased by 100%. All nearby enemies with a lower strength stat than the player will have their strength stat reduced by 50%}

{Accel world: All allies will have their speed increased by 200%}

{Mana absorption field: All allies will have their mana regeneration increase by 100% Mana will be stolen from nearby enemies and given to allies and the player}

The room changed color and ambience once Sky activated the field of strength, accel world, and mana absorption field.

Sky had tested out these three abilities, the best part was that they had no cooldown and will last forever.

'Next time I will use buffs before the battle starts.' Sky thought as he made a mental note.

Everyone present could feel a sudden increase in power while the Lepreshade felt a sudden decrease in mana and it was being taken from him. Field of strength did not affect him since he had a higher strength stat than Sky.

This time Sky flew and teleported right in front of the Lepreshade while throwing a wide and exaggerated punch, anyone else would think that there was no way his punch was gonna connect with the Lepreshade.

BOOM

Sky's fist collided with the air as if he had hit an invisible wall. Next thing the Lepreshade knew it was sent flying back with a bloody face, it was as if he had collided with a powerful invisible force.

Sky immediately teleported on top of the Lepreshade, just by being near him Sky was dealing damage to him by the second with lightning aura.

"Speed sap!" Sky touched the Lepreshade's back and left.

{Speed sap: Temporarily steals the speed of anyone and adds it to your speed stat for 10 minutes. Ability can be stacked multiple times}

The Lepreshade felt all his speed had left him. He could barely move at all.

"AAHHHHH!" Sky appeared above the Lepreshade with naginata in hand while screaming. With a mighty thrust and putting all his mana into the tip of the blade Sky pierced the Lepreshade's back.

"AAAHHHH!" The Lepreshade screamed out in pain, it realized at that moment he was going to die.

He extended his arm out to his black pot.

"My… gold. My… love… Mine..." The Lepreshade's body fell limb, it was dead.

{Dealt critical damage: 110,000 dealt}

{Boss has fallen}

{Greed has been activated. Mob will drop twice the amount of loot and exp}

{Received: 2x purple scroll, 10x gold irish beer, 176,000,000 shells, 136,000,000 exp}

{Jericho Haydie has leveled up}

{Jay Press has leveled up}

{Jules Mayfeather has leveled up}

Sky could hear the ongoing notifications ringing in his head. His three crew members were leveling up a lot from this fight.

Sky heaved a sigh of relief. He wasn't the strongest being he had seen or faced but he was the strongest being he had killed.

Sky would have wanted to sacrifice him but with their current stats it wasn't possible to restrict him. Maybe it would be possible but it would be too risky.

{Golden irish beer (consumable)}

{A hearty drink all proud Irish love. Drinking it will increase luck for three separate occasions}

'Oooooh, I do not know what Irish is, but I love it already.' Sky stored the beers in this inventory except one.

The gold beers were glass mugs with a gold liquid that sparkled. It even had some four-leaf clovers in it.

Sky took a sip. It did taste like a strong alcoholic beverage, but he forced himself to drink it and almost spat it out.

"OH GOD! That's so strong." Sky never drank alcohol before and therefore he hated the taste.

{Resisted 100% of poison}

{System note: You can no longer get drunk}

{Your luck will increase on three seperate occasions}

'Wonderful.'

"Sky, I thought you said you don't drink alcohol?" Jericho asked.

"I didn't, till now." Sky wiped away the remnants from his mouth.

"The boss seemed to be overly obsessed with this pot and... metal round objects?" Jay looked at the pot and took out what was inside.

The pot was a regular black pot. Inside were silver coins that were obviously painted with a gold color. This world does not know of coins as the only currency known to them are shells.

"Take it with you, it might be worth something."

"Aye, Captain."

Sky proceeded to examine the purple scrolls.

{Purple scroll: Age faster lvl 1: You can hasten the aging process of something by 1 months per minute}

{Purple scroll: +6,470 Vig}

"HOLY WHAT THE HELL!" Sky audibly gasped reading this scroll. A single purple scroll can increase his stats by this much?"

"System, what's the max amount of stat points a purple scroll can give me?"

{1,000-25,000}

"No wonder everyone wants a purple scroll." Sky realized and severely underestimated the purple scrolls.

Without saying anything Sky walked up to the chest that spawned in the room.

'Greedy adventurer.'

{Greedy adventurer: The next chest you find in a dungeon and open will have its rewards doubled {Cooldown: 24 hours: Cooldown is not affected by cooldown reduction skill}

Sky opened the chest.

{Lucky moment activated. Two remaining}

{Received: 2x dungeon escape stone, 2x fairy in a bottle, 2x player coupon, 200,000,000 shells, 4x purple scrolls, 10x red scrolls}

Sky immediately released both fairy in a bottle. Both of them kissed him on each cheek and disappeared as they flew away.

{Eye of truth has been evolved → mind of truth lvl 1: Can activate to read the thoughts of anyone and/or see their lies}

{Hydrokinesis has reached max level}

Sky read the four purple scrolls.

{Purple scroll: +22,638 vig} (I swear I used a random number generator)

{Purple scroll: Summon Megalodon}

{Purple scroll: +6,781 spd}

{Purple scroll: Summon bottomless sea terror}

"Jules, you deserve this one, with it you can summon Megalodon."

"Wait, what?" Jules thought she heard him wrong, but he was giving her a purple scroll, and it was a powerful summon that benefited her.

"Jericho, here you go, two scrolls, one will increase your speed dramatically and the other your vigor."

"What?" Jericho was surprised to see Sky give Jules a purple scroll, but he was giving her two?

The root of her problems was caused by a single, valuable scroll that wasn't meant to be hers. Yet now she got two.

"Jay, this will increase your vigor by a lot. You almost just died but if you use this you might survive a shot like that."

"What?" Jay was stunned. He didn't know what was more surprising, the fact that he got multiple purple scrolls in a single dungeon or that he was giving them to his crew like it was candy?

This made him feel beyond happy, Jericho as well. As for Jules she was still confused.

"Let's leave this place."

Sky was actually glad he did not sacrifice the Lepreshade. If he did he would've just gotten one of its stats instead of what he just received which was far better.

'Looks like I am not gonna sacrifice purple bosses. Red dungeon bosses and slaves on the other hand…'
