Chapter 10 - Drawings

"I didn't know you lie too", grim took the empty spot next to Ellen.

"You did sleep together! Finally, my innocent bestie slept with a human!", Chloe squealed with joy.

Corner of grim's lips curved upward in a derisive smile. 'Human? So if we were to sleep together, she would never since I'm not a human?'

Chloe wanted Ellen to experience how would it feel to lose your virginity, let someone touch you at places that nobody has ever been so bad. Now that she already had, the latter could spend days and nights asking Ellen about every minor detail, yeah from the first kiss to the last thrust. But only if it was true.

"No! I mean yeah...but not the way you're thinking it to be", Ellen hastily got up from the couch and jogged towards Chloe.

"I'll explain it to you later", as time passed by, the foggy memories were now becoming less foggier.

"If you say I can explain as well since my arm was being held by you the whole night", grim snickered at now facepalming Ellen. Chloe kept switching her eyes from Ellen to grim then back to Ellen hoping to speak up who rather chose to be quiet until grim doesn't leave her house.

"By the way I'm Shawn. You?", grim extended his arm after getting up from the couch.

"Chloe, Ellen's best friend and partner in crime", Chloe gladly took grim's hand in hers. Even if they hadn't slept together, there wouldn't be anything wrong to be friends with this deadly handsome-looking man. That's what she thought. And who knew maybe her best friend and he ended up being together. It could be possible. Why not? Humans fall for each other.

Yeah, humans do fall for each other without keeping in view the consequences of their relationships but not grim reapers.

"So...what about breakfast? I've brought pancakes", lifting her other hand in the air, a paper bag now appeared on the scene that was being ignored because of all the commotion.

"You won't mind joining us?", Chloe asked.

"No! He can't stay!", Ellen groaned stomping her foot on the poor floor. Chloe looked at her as if it wasn't her caring and nice Ellen she had known for years.

"I mean he was leaving for some serious errand right Shawn?", trying her best to reason out with an excuse that she thought to be bought by her best friend she looked at Shawn who now seemed to enjoy the pissed Ellen more than writing names in the Death Note.

"Yeah. My friend Jeremy just texted me that he would be here at any second", Shawn read a text from Jeremy that they needed to meet urgently.

As three of them were standing there with tension and heat and unfamiliar aurora building around the place, they heard a knock at the door.

"I'll get this", after placing the bag on the table, Chloe walked over to the door.

"Us meeting again must have written in heavens I guess", last time when they met outside the library, that was ned motive, Jeremy bid goodbye to Chloe saying that if it was written in their fates they would be meeting again any time soon. Chloe didn't give it a thought since she had always been neutral with this whole fate thing. Now finding him standing in front of her, she couldn't utter anything else.

"I told you so", Jeremy smiled shrugging off his shoulders. Well, he was hundred and ten percent sure that they would meet again because she was Ellen's friend with whom grim had been trying to glue to.

Meanwhile, Ellen appeared practically shoving grim out of the house by pushing him from behind.

"See you next time, little fawn", Shawn winked at her with a mischievous grin.

"There's next time!", Ellen shut the door at both of them and jogged back to the living room. She was making her way towards the bedroom to have some rest after the last night's hangover.

"Where on earth did you find this breathtaking hot a*s man!"

But how could she when there was Chloe? Could she?

.....

Jeremy took the keys from grim and started driving as the latter told him that he would change his clothes before doing anything. He kept taking glances at him only to find the smiling grim that he never happened to witness during his whole stay with him. It's not that grim never smiled. He would laugh and smile and chuckle but this smile wasn't similar a one. Oh boy, he was glowing. He couldn't pinpoint what the exact reason could be behind that smile but a grain-sized fear started growing inside him at the occurrence of a certain possibility created by his mind that he was hoping would only be a mere piece of pessimistic thought.

After a few days

Ellen continued living her life how she had been living for years since the death of her parents. Work, work and work. Nonetheless, she started engaging herself in her underwriting book Underworld lately. Grim, on the other hand, disappeared from the scene all of sudden. Well, he could go to Hells all to her care.

She did find the sudden disappearance of the latter odd, yet she didn't pry on this. Who was she anyway? Chloe, however, never shut her mouth about chattering about Shawn and his friend. She was sure that the two were out their town. Their style was out of the place. Well, out of this world to be more accurate.

"Who are you new follower?", Ellen's eyes gleamed with joy when she noticed so many comments from the same account. She slid into the conversation panel only to find a message from the same account there.

"You're an amazing writer! I'm a die heart fan of yours. Keep up doing this wonderful work!"

Squealing in joy, Ellen fished her phone inside the pocket of her pants, before Mrs. Benson would notice her using it during work, and went back to arranging the unordered stack of books.

Does putting books back to where they grabbed them from cost people dollars? Ill-mannered readers.

Regardless of almost arranging all the unorganized piles of books, her mood stayed as bright as it was when she read those comments and messages.

She dragged the wooden stool over to the last shelf as the remaining books were required to be on the second rack from the top. She stood over on the top of the stool and began aligning the books, one inclining with the prior, inclining a new one ahead. When she was about to place the last book, she noticed the book wasn't closed as if there was something inside.

She opened it and found a few pages. Talking them out she saw a sketch of some dark clouds invading the whole sky, the drawing of a city on the end of the page illustrated a dead, barren place. The destruction of the city, destroyed buildings were illustrating a destructive view of Los Angeles. She moved to the next drawing under the current one. It was of large black wings spreading wide in the air.

"Beautiful."

During her whole stay of working at the library, nor once did Ellen find anything like that. She would find letters, notes and some illustrative diagrams of biological projects. Yes, certainly belonging to students.

Upon finding these drawings, she was fascinated to know that there was someone else interested in supernatural stuff. She hoped that whoever forgot those drawings they would come back for them and she would try her luck with that person.

Only if she knew that those weren't forgotten but left on purpose.

But who left them and why?
