The clock that was hung on the wall kept ticking, the night in its darkest state, stars shining as per they were created for, the moonlight reaching down every corner of the streets, grim continued staring at the unconscious girl.
When he laid Ellen on the couch and turned around to leave after covering her with a blanket, the girl pulled upon his hand. He bent down on his knees to take a close look at her tear-stained face when she hugged his arm as if her whole life was dependent on it. Well, indeed it was.
The action made grim frozen in the same spot, letting him watch the sleeping beauty nonchalantly. Now it had been past midnight. Neither did he move from his position nor revert his gaze from the innocent mortal who was sleeping like a fawn.
Morning
Ellen opened her eyes hard, falling shut right after by sun rays that were entering through the window. Pressing palms against the couch she pushed herself in an upright position. While yawning, a shot of pain hit her head followed by a flash of last night's memory when she almost passed over at the most pervert man on this earth!
She quickly shoved the blanket off her body, examining if her clothes were still on.
'Thank goodness', sigh of relief released her mouth finding herself in the same outfit she did wear before leaving for the cemetery. The thought of the same clothes from the graveyard indeed was cringe but not more than a pervert taking her virginity.
"Hating those clothes over your body? I can lend you a hand", she almost fell off the couch as she jumped being startled by the sudden appearance of grim at the doorframe of her bedroom.
"What were you doing in my room!", Ellen yelled at the masculine figure who was having the upper three buttons of his shirt unbuttoned displaying his tattooed chest, water drops dripping off his wet hair.
Last night he passed out down on the floor, in front of Ellen. She didn't look like letting go of his arm. Grim, on the other hand, kept memorizing her every feature until he let his eyes fall shut, sitting in the same spot. He opened his eyes with sun rays shining on his face. He then searched around the house for the bathroom.
Splashing the water on his face, he looked at his reflection in the mirror with hands still under the running warm water. He couldn't stop himself and stripped down his clothes for a warm shower as he had been tired of sitting in the same position for hours. Well, why would he stop? He landed Ellen his chest to cry on.
His mighty chest.
Now he could do whatever he would like to at the latter's house.
"So is this how you treat the one you clung onto the arm of for the whole night?", taking small steps towards the lost-in-the-events-of-last-night Ellen, he asked his voice coming more like demanding.
"You could possibly have drugged me!", Ellen snorted back without any clear image of yesterday's night incident.
"Oh come on now. Your clothes would be having a great time on this floor if I had drugged you", a mischievous grin took over the adorable lips of grim who now was standing right before the couch Ellen was squatting at.
"Plus you were already drunk to the hells when I saved your elegant a*s from landing onto the floor", he smiled to himself when the memory of not-so-sober Ellen flashed in his mind.
"You know you told me something very interesting last night", grim lowered until his face met the same level as Ellen's. The latter still fighting the foggy memories from the last night shot her eyebrows.
What could she've told him? There wasn't anything particular for her to hide. Except...no way in the hell! Whenever she got drunk, she used to lose control over her mind and talk non-sense. That's why she only preferred drinking with her best friend which rarely happened because of the busy routine of latter.
"That you love my tattooed chest and want to have a full glance of it", grim leaned over her face, closer to her ear and whispered quite seductively.
"Now don't try to deny. I've caught you many times starting at me whenever we met", grim chuckled seeing the bewildered expressions painted all over Ellen's face.
Oh how much he loved teasing poor little fawn.
"I-th-that's only a blatant lie of yours!", she grunted in incredulity. Though she noticed his tattoos when she encountered him outside the grocery shop and thought of them to be a very cool piece of art however she never spared her so-innocent glances to this pervert!
"Don't be shy. Say a word and I'll change my plans for you", he leaned backwards, his hot breath fanning on Ellen's naturally glowing skin.
Ellen was staring at him in bafflement, pushing to the limits of her brain to recall what happened when she came back from the cemetery. She remembered getting drunk and tripping her way back home but when in the hell grim came here! More important did she really clasped onto his arm and made those flirtatious remarks!
Their staring battle hasn't reached halfway through the finish line when the sound of the door clicking opened and shut again was heard following by some steps.
"Where the f*ck on earth you buried your phone last night!", Chloe shouted making her way towards the living room.
"Oh, I think I made a wrong entry", noticing the most handsome guy she had seen outside the library when she met Jeremy who asked for some directions and later exiting the exit with this stunning guy, now hovering over her best friend, her eyes went wide open.
"There's nothing that it looks like", Ellen's quick reflexes pushed grim back who stumbled upon his feet but maintained his balance before he could make it down on the floor.
"F*ck this gravity but I'm a grim reaper. Who are you kidding to?", he nonchalantly smiled, almost muttering under his breath not to be heard by two girls present there.
"Okay, so you two didn't sl-sleep together?", if this was just a commotion, Ellen would clear it right away.
"No!"
"Yes"
Ellen and grim replied in a unison.
