It was early morning around somewhere in kamba kingdom, a area near the great river tinka that cuts across the verst land of the kingdom down to the great sea.The temparature here was freezing cold and the sorrounding seemed to be coverd by the mist coming from a waterfall nearby.Just afew meters along the river banks stood two men wearing worriors suits. One of them seemed to be of a higher rank than the other. The two men where talking and from their facial expressions you would tell it was a crusial matter been discussed.
"your Majesty" one of the two men said" think of this move as a way of strengthening our millitary forces." he poused looking at his majesty king Menza's waist." it comes with great looses but still great benefits non the less." this was the voice of Mboka one of kings Menza's most trusted men and second in command. He was a well build young man at his early 30's and full of energy. Apart from his fitness Mboka was a wise and skillfull worrior.
"I know,..Mboka" the king said looking at this strange strapped weapon on his waist. " i mean with weapons like this in our possesion, we will surely conqure any enemy in the future." the king was silent for a moment then continued to draw out the weapon from his waist. Looking at it carefully he said" its amazing how this small weapon can kill very fast." Mboka just nodded with a smile on his face." on addition they get to train you to use this weapons, thats an advantage. surely the gods have blessed us." the king said with a hint of surtisfaction on his voice.he then turned and faced the river. He seemed to be in thoughts for some seconds there then he turned to Mboka. "Lets give them what they want. i will lend them my worriors but..." he trailled off then giving Mboka a serious look he continued " make sure to have the weapons in our possesion fast as arranged." Mboka nodded in agreement then said "it will be done You Majesty. " he bowed slightly and excused himself "i will rely your messege to the worriors now. " mboka walked to the direction were the rest stood waiting for their commenders instructions.
After mboka left, Menza turned facing the river. from a distance he could see the great view of chulu hills covered with the dense forest. His mind now wondered back home to his family but mostly to his concubine waridi who was expecting. He wondered if he would be home by the time she gives birth. Waridi was the only woman that king Menza loved. He had the queen of course but marring her was a political stratagy to enhance his powers and create an ally. waridi was his heart an soul. The Queen had given him a beautiful daughter but women did not rule this lands. Deep down in his gats something told him that Waridi would give birth to a boy. he needed an hair to take over his kingdom once he was gone.
" your Majesty" he was disrupted from his thought by Mboka who came from behind. " everything is ready and the worriors are set to leave" King Menza nodded and said to Mboka. "you will accompany them as well " Mboka's face changed immediently. He didnt like the idea of leaving the king. he was supposed to be his security at all times.
" bu...but Your Majesty..." he said hesitantly " i cannot leave yourside. Am supposed to protect you at all times." the king knew Mboka would never leave but he needed him to lead his army of worriors and no other person was fit apart from him. According to king Menza any decision made by Mboka sounded fit. Not that Mboka made decision on his own without confronting the king but whenever he shared his thoughts with the king, He seemed to agree and with no objections whatsoever. "i will be fine Mboka, so worry not" the king said " plus i wount be entirely unprotected. i still have a few skillfull worriors around me all thanks to you." Mboka gave a faint smile apon his kings compliment. " we need to split into two groups. You will lead your batallion as we agreed. Go lend help to our newly found friends, they may help us back one day in the future. " Mboka nodded in understanding " i will travel with the few men left. it will be easy and will attracts less attention. this way we can travel undercover." Mboka knew his king very well.once he made a decision he never turned back so Mboka did not bother to insist.
" Be safe your Majesty." thats all Mboka managed to say. the king saw that his loyal soldior was not ok with his decision so he went on to add " i need you to be their commander as you have always been. Go ensure everything is flowless and be my eyes." Mboka understood what the king ment and so he bowed as acknowleging his king's command. " worry not your majesty. everything will be taken care of." Mboka said full of confidence in his voice. " How long do you think this war will last." he continued to ask the king who answered immediatly " i wish i knew Mboka but i dont but acquire more weapons while you are there." he nooded in agreement it was silent for a moment then Mboka said "with your permission we will leave now Your Majesty." he bowed slightly and turned to leave but his arm was grabed by the king who now pulled him close and patted his shoulders
" be safe my friend" it was the king who said this. Mboka was suprised but yet moved by his kings actions. he understood the kings actions was a gusture of a friend beeding another farewell but still it suprised him. king Menza was not that soft hearted. "You too Your majesty. till we meet " "till we meet again brother."
Mboka left with his battalion and headed towards the direction of the great sea. king Menza and a group of 15 well trained worriors took off moments later, they had camped here after along journey from the great sea. Menza had gone there to meet a leader from a foreign kingdom on the west across the great sea. The foreigne leader wanted to make ally with them and strengthen their trade. Kamba kingdom was rich with minerals. Gold was among many that the kingdom was previlaged to have and in large quantity. This made many kindom want to trade with kamba kingdom, in return the kingdom became wealthy stable and we'll know across the great sea. On their visit to meet the foreign leader Menza was introduced to a strange weapon by the foreign leader. the foreigner even offered a deal to him. He offered to give him guns. in return, the king was to aid him with nearly half of his worriors. He needed support in an on goin civil war in their continent. king Menza had asked time to think about the matter. He was not sure about giving nearly half of his military, but the offer was too enticing. Seeing how he was at awe with the weapons, the foreigne leader took advantage and asked the kings help in exchange for gun and lots of guns. According to the King, this still strange weapons seemed convenient. He was used to bows, arrows, swords, axes but this weapon was much fast. Combining both his weapons and the foreigners weapon would make his kingdom unbeatable. His warrior were skillful with their weapon already and was feared across their continent. what if we equip all my worries with this gun, Mensa thought with a smile on his face.
