it was now two weeks since the king and his men departed from the camping site. they have been traveling going back to his capital city, Lawi. They traveled during the day and rested at nights. lawi was a month's journey from the great sea. The king and his men had been traveling for six hour non-stop. their horses seemed tired from the journey and needed a rest. the king ordered his men to look for a place to rest. "Dinka, tell the men to scout around for a place to rest" Dinka who was ridding just besides the king nodded. " Yes your Majesty." Dinka was among many great skilled warrior and second in command after Mboka. Mboka recruited Dinka to the royal army at a young age after he was chosen by the gods. According to the culture and believe of this great kingdom, only chosen warriors by the gods would serve the great chosen one, the King. After a while the men sent to scout around came back. " Your Majesty , we have found a nice place." one of the men said "lead us there. " the king replied. the men led and the king followed. Dinka rode right next to the king and seemed unease. It was all written on his face that led the king to ask. " is something wrong Dinka ? " Dinka who was unease looking side to side as they rode there horses answered "am not sure Your Majesty, but something don't feel right." before he finished answering the king, a tree fell across the road blocking them and his men. it was lucky it did not hurt any of the warriors but startled their horses. There was a bit of commotion before the warriors managed to calm down their horses. "what is this" the king asked " it seems like we are been abushed" Dinka was quick to answer and issued a warning." safeguard the king and be ready to retaliate an attack." just then a man emerged from the bush fully armed. he was a tall huge man with a muscular body. he looked like a warrior. the man whistled and more than a dozen more men came from both side of the road behind the bushes and tree trucks surrounding the king and his men who by now wore commoners cloths to avoid attention. By their looks the king knew they were thief's. From time to time, the minister of defence always brought up an issue about bandits raiding villages. They also attacked and stole from those who traveled along this road. this area was popular with such incidents. Now that the king was here he thout of finishing this group once and for all. "who are you" the king asked with a cold tone. "No need for name here, we only need your valubles ." the huge man answered and then laughed, the rest of his men joined him laughing. " sorry to disappoint you, but you are not getting anything from us. " the king cut their laugh looking at the huge man with sharp eyes. " but you are out numbered and surrounded by my men ready to take you out. " the man said with a mocking voice. the king smiled knowing the bandits were no much to his skilled and we'll trained worriors." let see what you have." king Mensa said with a devilish smile. The bandits leader was infuriated by the kings smirk and ordered his men to charge. The king's warriors surrounded the king guarding him at the middle ready to fight the bandits. The sound of swords was now filled in the air as the two opponent engaged in a deadly fight. scream from those hurt was heard. just after a few minute lifeless bodies stained with blood lay scattered on each side of the road and all where bandits. Non of the king's men was even scratched. seeing this scene, the bandits leader called his men to fallback. His face now full of fear and confusion. He thought he was in control but now it seemed otherwise." who are you men" he asked his voice trembling. He was shaken seeing half of his men lay dead on the ground. and the way the kings men moved at ease during the fight, it was no doubt they will wipe them out. he was now thinking of running away when One of his men bolted out of the scene like a mad animal, he was scared to die. king Mensa instantly reached for the gun on his waist, and as he was trained by the foreign leader, he pulled the trigger aiming the gun at the now running bandit member. aloud bang was heard as the body flew down to the ground with a bang. Then king Menza turned to the bandits leader " I thought you did not need names" Menza was now teasing him, using his on words aganist him "Surrender now and my men will spare your life. but you will pay for your mistake as according to rules and laws that governs kamba kingdom." the bandits leader was now trembling with fear than before. He was confused by the power of the weapon used by the king to kill his comrade. Never before have any of the men present seen the weapon do it's work. The bandits leader surrendered followed by his men. After they chained the bandits together the group went on to the place they were supposed to rest.
Once the men settled down the king called Dinka and they walked a few step from the rest.
"Dinka I have a plan with this bandits so make sure they don't escape." Dinka nodded "yes your majesty" king Menza plan was to exchange this bandit for guns instead of giving his royal warriors to go to a place he was not even sure they would return back. For the bandits, they were a lost cause. They only stole from hard working people.he thought it would be better to give them something worth to do other than robbing people. He will hunt them all and sent them to that foreign land.
" I want you to start a manhunt for every bandit you hear of, capture them and bring them alive. I have a mission for them. I think they will prefer this option than to be thrown in the dungeon." King Menza paused for a minute then continued " I will be over there you need me." he pointed to a tree with a nice shade from the now scotching sun. " I need sometime alone, go rest and make sure am not disturbed. " Dinka nodded "yes you majesty." and walked away. Menza went under the tree and lay down facing the sky. He reached out to the necklace he always wore. The necklace was passed on to him by his late king father. The necklace was among many supernatural objects used in this kingdom. it was a simple leather straps necklace with a cristal pentagon sharped pendant. in this kingdom many customs and traditions were followed when choosing a king and the four strong pillars to guide him. The Cristal pendant would glow bright if it came to contact with the right fit indicating it found the chosen on. Apart from that the necklace would work as a mean of communication. once the chosen one touches the Cristal he would be able to communicate Telepathycaly with another person with similar pendant. Only five such pendant existed. The other four pendants were with his four chosen generals.
