Chereads / Zombie Thud: I Become Stonger When I Get Bitten! / Chapter 24 - How Do You Want To Die?

Chapter 24 - How Do You Want To Die?

The lackey led James to a building near the south gate. This was where most of the members of the football team lived.

James looked at his cousin and said with a dark expression, "You know the rules."

James had told the others countless times that as long as they were infected, it did not matter if the injury was big or small, they would have to die. He would not break this rule even if said person was his family member.

At this moment, dozens of people gathered in the corridor. Their expressions were slightly unsightly.

Since James' group was relatively big, he had delegated some people to his cousin and appointed his cousin as a leader.

James had appointed his cousin a leader and allowed him to lead dozens of men to kill zombies. With dozens of men with his cousin, he thought that no matter how stupid his cousin was, his cousin should be safe. Who knew his cousin would end up getting injured by a zombie?

To be honest, when James was consolidating his power, his cousin had contributed a lot. His cousin was his most ardent supporter. Therefore, now that his cousin had ended up in this state, his expression was slightly gloomy.

Nevertheless, when he looked at his cousin who was lying on the bed and saw that no one had stepped forward to kill his cousin, his anger rose. "What? Are my words worthless now?"

The people gathered here were all assigned by James to his cousin. He did not expect that after such a short time, they would no longer listen to his orders.

At this moment, a burly man stepped forward and said, "Boss, your cousin's wound is rather light. Moreover, we cleaned and disinfected his wound real fast. Don't you want to wait and…"

The burly man stopped talking abruptly.

James had drawn his dagger across the burly man's throat.

The burly man reached up and held his throat. However, his hands were not enough to stop the blood from spurting out of his neck like a fountain.

"Did I give you permission to speak?" James said coldly.

This sudden attack intimidated the others; they no longer dared to speak. Their eyes were darting everywhere, and their palms were drenched in sweat.

In the apocalypse, only a ruthless person like James could survive longer.

He looked at the people with lowered heads and continued to say coldly, "No matter who's bitten or scratched by a zombie, they have to die. It doesn't matter even if it's my cousin. Those who plead for mercy don't care about the collective safety of the faction. This can cause more deaths in the faction."

He swept his threatening gaze across the men.

None of them dared to meet his gaze at all or speak up.

After a pause, he said, "I will not show any mercy. Deal with him now!"

...

At this moment, Rhodes was making his way to the west gate. He was constantly on the lookout for supplies and James.

When he passed by the medical building, he decided to check if he could find any knives, disinfectants, medicine, gloves, and so on. These things would definitely come in handy at some point.

However, as soon as he stepped into the building, Rhodes, whose hearing surpassed ordinary people, heard noises from the third floor.

There was a cacophony of groans and moans of pain and pleasure.

From what he could discern, there seemed to be, at least, a dozen of different voices.

'Is there a sex party happening, right now?'

Rhodes slowly made his way up to the third floor. As he drew closer to the source of the noise, he peeked through a window of a classroom. He saw a dozen women being held down by a dozen men as the men had their ways with the women.

Upon closer inspection, Rhodes discovered many of the women seemed to be professors from the university. He watched as the men switched women after they were done with one. It kept going on and on. Meanwhile, the women's voices rose and fell.

Rhodes was like an outsider at this lewd party. He did not fit in at all nor did he want to fit in. After finding out what was going on, he stopped looking.

During the apocalypse, things like this were common. The apocalypse had freed men and women from the shackles of morality and the law.

Rhodes turned away and made his way to the fifth floor. He did not forget he was here to look for supplies.

In one of the rooms on the fifth floor, he saw three zombies through the window. Moreover, he saw evidence of human corpses that had been feasted on by the zombies.

He did not waste time and quickly dealt with zombies.

The first thing he found was a box condom. He nodded in satisfaction. He could think of many uses for condoms. They can be used as gloves, to tie something, and they could be used to hold liquid. Indeed, condoms were very useful.

As he looked at the zombies on the ground, he wondered if the zombies were kept here to guard the supplies in the room.

After that, he rummaged through the cabinets and searched the room. Whatever he found useful, he would put them in his backpack.

After Rhodes left the building, he continued walking. He thought to himself that James should be somewhere nearby.

At this moment, he saw a flurry of movements and a figure from the corners of his eyes. When he saw the person's face, he could not help but laugh. The person was none other than James.

...

At this moment, James and his people were killing zombies on the path that led from the southern side of the campus to the western side of the campus.

"Boss, the smell of his corpse will attract more zombies."

"I know. I'm using their corpses to attract zombies." James hauled the corpse of the burly man whom he had killed with a dagger and threw it next to his cousin's corpse.

"Boss, there's movement from the zombies. There are more than ten of them."

"Watch carefully." James held the steel pipe in his hand and told the people around him that dealing with the zombies was like playing a game. He would lure them in, and while they were feasting, he would kill them from the back.

This cycle continued as zombies were continuously lured in.

Soon after, his men joined in and began to deal with the zombies as well.

The first wave.

The second wave.

The third wave.

By the time James and his men finished killing the third wave of zombies, the two corpses on the ground did not even retain the shape of a human anymore. Their limbs were gone, chunks of flesh were missing, and their faces had been eaten. A half-eaten eyeball oozing liquid lay near a pool of blood. It was truly a gory sight.

It did not take long before the fourth wave of zombies arrived, lured in by the smell of blood.

At the same time, a figure stood in the woods near the south gate. He looked at these people who were killing zombies at an extremely slow pace.

Rhodes felt the collective speed and efficiency of these dozens of people killing zombies could not compare to him alone. Their speed was even slower than when his body was just strengthened.

He looked at them disdainfully. He'd be able to deal with all those zombies in a much shorter time.

Then, he shifted his gaze to James, and his gaze turned even more disdainful. He used to think that James was incredibly strong. At that time when James publicly revealed his interest in Julie, he had only wished he could bring Julie away and escape. However, at this moment, he only felt James was incredibly weak. Even killing one zombie seemed like such a laborious task to James.

All Rhodes wanted to ask James now was, "How do you want to die?"
