(Jax pov)
Finally school was over, I felt like today would never end. Jake and Blake are babbling about the party and how awesome it's going to be. I started to tune them out when I heard her name again. Serina, he name sent chills down my spine and my wolf to stir. I focus more on what Blake is babbling about.
"In our last class today, Serina sat with me and this human walks up and he's acting like hes king of the castle right? So Serina looks at me rolling her eyes. Then gave me a watch this smirk. She looks at this human, gives him puppy dog eyes and says 'but Tim wouldn't your girlfriend be heartbroken if we ran off and has babies together?' the dudes face was priceless!" Blake started laughing as he finished explaining how the human hurryed to get away. Anger filled every inch of my and my wolf snarled wanting to find this 'Tim'. Why was he getting so worked up over this? He never even meet Serina. He could feel the jealousy of Blake and how he easly he spoke of her and quickly they had become close.
More I thought of it the more I wanted to walk up to Blake and punch him... Wait what? I shake my head to clear it. I start to notice Jake and Blake staring me down. "What!?" I snap harshly, both flinch at my tone. "I just asked if you where okay alpha, who pissed in your Cheerios?" Jake asks me watching me closely as if I'd explode any minute. "Nothing! I'm fine!" I growled, clearing my throat and taking a calming breath, "did you learn anything today?" I looked between Jake and Blake. These too spent all day with Nightstar pack Alphas four youngest kids. With Nightstar pack being one of the oldest packs and so close to Bloodrose pack they had to know something.
Jake and Blake shared a glance then looked everywhere but at me. They knew something, but hiding it. We just reached the apartment building and I was going to question more but Blake blurts out, "we need party supplies!" Jake quickly becomes a bobble head nodding, "Dude, your right! We should go right now and get the stuff. Hey Jax don't worry we got it covered!" Then they were gone. Running as if their tails where on fire. I was left standing confused. What the heck was with them?
I let my self in the apartment. Thinking over Jake and Blake's reaction to my question. What was with them....what could they have possibly learned? I let out a sign I would know tell they get back and told me. I entered my room and threw my bag in the corner. I lay on my bed waiting for the guys to return. My mind starts to wander back to earlier. Serina, a female I've never met in my life yet my whole body reacted to just her name. I close my eyes and the angel haunts me... Her laugh, her voice, the way her hair blew in the wind, she was unreachable yet it was as if she owned me. Not wanting to sit with my thoughts anymore, I get up and change into some basketball shorts and loose shirt that I tore the sleeves off of. Grabbing my iPod I headed to the small gym the apartment building had.
After an hour of trying to forget I went back up to the apartment. Jake and Blake had returned and we're mumbling to each other, "you tell him" "no you tell him." I roll my eye and slammed the door to make my self known. Both heads snap to my direction and they gulp. "why don't one of you tell me what is going on before I make you," I growled low and looked between them. Jake steps forward, "okay don't get mad..." I glared at Jake waiting for him to continue, "...we noticed how you been reacting to Serina name and worried how you make take what Blake learned." My whole body went stiff. Serina.... It's about Serina. My wolf becomes tense and starts to pace within me, puting me more on edge. Jake steps back and pushes Blake forward to tell me what he learned. Blake shifts his weight from foot to foot, looking everywhere but me. "Blake....." His name comes out from me sounding like a animal with no trace of human. Blake flinches then looks at me, "Rydel, the next alpha of bloodrose and Ulric's only air, has requested Serina's paw in mating." Fury fills me and a growl fills the apartment. The guys cower, Jake looks at me, eyes filled with fear and what looked like sadness, "there's more," he begins, "since the mating would take place after they both graduate high school, Alpha Tybalt, Serina father has left it to her brother Carter to make the choice. Konrad said Carter is to be alpha by end of this year..." I take a breath starting to calm down, theres no way her brother would let this happen if he's as protective as the triplets theirs no way. Blake speaks up, "Alex told me that her brother accepted the mating despite Serina pleas and Rydel feels he has some claim on her now." The both look to the floor as Blake finishes. I feel my nails grow and fur beginning to spread on my skin. I see nothing but red. Forced to mate!? And the son of that heatless man! My wolf is clawing to the surface and he's winning. I storm to the patio, pushing open the sliding door. It shatters from my force. I walk to the railing at leap off, shifting in mid air. Luckily their is a forest behind us. I run off into it guided by anger and hate. My wolf let's out a piercing howl.
(Serina Pov)
My heart clenches and my wolf whimpers. My body shook with sadness and a need to find who let out the howl. Just as we get to Alex's, a piercing howl rings out. I watched as my brothers flinched and Alex face filled with worry. I couldn't explain what was happening... why was other showing fear or worry yet all that I could think about was to shift and find the wolf to comfort them. My wolf let out another whimper, I look to the forest wondering who that wolf could be...
"HELLO! Earth to Serina?" Im pulled from my thoughts and see my brothers and Alex looking at me. All of their eyes and faces showing concern and confusion. "sorry...what?" I responded turning away from the forest despite my wolf's whimpers and pull. "You okay, Lil sis?" Solon asks studying my face for all the answers. "yeah I'm fine...just that howl..." I trail off turning back to the forest. "oh I know! I'd hate to be the guy on the other end of that. That wolf sounded pissed off and by the tone it's a pissed off Alpha..." Ruston begins to babble when Alex steps in and cuts him off. "Well boys it's been real and it's been fun, wouldn't say it been real fun, bit Serina and I got stuff to do before the BIG party so byeeee!" she starts to shoo my brothers away. "What you mean? I thought we going to the party together..." Ruston whines at Alex giving her big sad puppy eyes. Konrad and Solon roll their eyes and climb into the car. A big smile creeps across Alex's face and she gets right into Ruston personal space, "now now big boy, your sister and I need to get ready for this party, I've got a little surprise for you," her smile drops and forms into a cute little pout as she bats her eyelashes at him, "you don't want to ruin the surprise now do you?" Ruston back stiffens his mouth opens and closes on repeat. My brother looked like a fish as he looks for an answer to Alex, how at this very moment has gone full pout looking as if one wrong move she will burst into tears. "NO! no never!" Ruston finally found words to say. He climbs in the car still staring at Alex. "Great! Then see you boys at the party!" Alex spins around walking away, her face showing no sign of what just happen, just a sly smile. "wait what..." I can see Ruston trying to figure out what the heck just happened as Konrad pulls away. Alex walks up to me, "wanna talk about it? we got some time before we gotta go help Blake and them set up for the party." When I turn to look at her I can see the worry in her eyes but her face remained blank. I put on my best fake smile, "Na I'm okay. come on let's get ready then head over to help Blake. I'm putting you in a dress tonight!" I hook my arm in hers pulling her to the house. A pure look of horror flashes across her face, "What!? why a dress? I don't even own a dress!" She puts on a victory smile thinking she has won. This is what I love about Alex she there when I need her and understands when I don't want to talk about it. "oh my dear Alex. Dear dear Alex, you forget, we wear same size," a real smile spreads across my face and the look of horror returns to hers. "And lucky for you I have many of dress here at your house," I laughed as we finish our walk to her house and into the guest room. Alex shoulders slump realizing I have won.
