"Every time I make a joke you want to run away. Can't you just spend more time with me?" Amélie grumbles in her mind. Watching Yuan Ge escape upstairs, she can only turn her mind back to Rong Qiuchen, observing this guy who seems to be behaving in a strange yet appropriate way.
Rong Qiuchen seems oblivious to Amélie's scrutiny and remains gentle and graceful, unhurriedly mixing the oyster sauce, rock sugar, salt and rice wine as instructed.
Amélie opens a pre-prepared jar of aged red-headed duck stock, pours it inside the clay pot, then adds various meats and vegetables and other ingredients, and begins to simmer. The question that has been nagging at the back of her mind since she found out that they were living together is still bothering her, so she simply asks Rong Qiuchen directly, "How much of his money did you spend during the days you came to eat and live with him for free? And, are you really crazy or are you pretending to be crazy?"
