Right after the loud sound of the gun was a crash and sweet wine was poured everywhere along side the glass and a passed out person. The gasping Max and frozen Kai looked at each other and Max quickly bombarded Kai with more questions than Kai could keep up with.
"WHAT HAPPENED!? HOW DID HE GET IN HERE?! ARE YOU ALRI-"
Kai's soothing and tired voice interrupted Max's chaotic yelling
"Max, what are you doing here?"
"The ala-"
"I told you already, no matter what happens, you do not come in here without my permission"
"Yes sir"
Both looked down at the boy on the floor and Max lowered his gun. As Max approached the boy with slow and cautious steps, they placed their gun back in its holster.
"Pick 'em up and put 'em on the couch please"
"Yes sir"
While Max did so Kai walked behind the counter and pressed the button on a machine that vaccumed the place begging it wouldn't break as he didn't have a broom anywhere in that house. The machine started up and miraculously didn't break, as Kai stared in admiration Max began to walk towards his masters son.
"Sir"
"Max, sorry, please speak to me like how you always do"
"Man, what the heck was that about?"
A chuckle escaped Kai's mouth as he found it amusing how Max didn't need to be told twice and began speaking and flaunting their hands all over the place
"I think it's the boy who's phone I borrowed while I was at Mike's"
"Oh. Wait. But how did he know you were here?"
"No idea. Guess we'll have to wait and find out until he wakes up"
"See, this is why I should be with you at all times" Max said rolling their eyes and crossing their arms in front of their chest
"Shut up Max"
Kai put an end to Max's whines although Max obeyed reluctantly they protested and formed a small pout with their mouth
"Oh come on Max, don't give me that pout"
A quiet laugh was exchanged between the two, although it was rather sarcastic from Max's side until they heard a quiet groan coming from the only other person in that place. With light steps they went to see if the boy had awakened.
