After Kai heard the door shut he got up from the floor and walked towards the shower. Meanwhile Max did what Kai had told him to do. As he walked towards Alexander he heard an extremely mad Kai punching his punching bag. Once Max was downstairs they walked towards where they had left Alexander and saw the front door shut.
"Shit"
Max ran outside so he wouldn't lose Alexander. Once he was outside he saw a him waving his hand at a taxi.
"No! Wait! Alexander!"
Alexander gave a cold look at Max. Thinking he no longer had anything to lose due to having some distance between him and Max and knowing that Max wouldn't try to do anything right in front of an innocent bystander which would be the taxi driver. Alexander flipped the bird at Max and got in.
"Take me to North Star Orphanage please"
The driver looked back and saw a person in a suit signing something
"Is that your friend? Should I take them as well?"
Alexander looked out the window and placed his arm on the door and his hand on his chin.
"No need"
"Alrighty then, North Star Orphanage it is."
The driver looked at Alexander through the rear view mirror and asked a few more questions
"So, your parents run the place or something?"
"Don't have any"
"Ah, I see. What happened to them?"
Alexander was beginning to feel annoyed by all of the questions
"Died when I was five"
"So did mine"
"What?"
"Not everything is what it seems kid"
Suddenly intrigued by the conversation Alexander started opening up. He's just a stranger anyway, it's not like he was ever going to see him again.
"You don't look that much older than me. What school do you go to?"
"I don't go to school"
"Oh"
"Graduated early actually, one of the few of our... academy. That's what people call them right?"
"I believe those are usually for people who pursue their careers further. Can I ask you something?"
"Sure kid"
"First off, please stop calling me kid. You can call me Alex. Second, if you don't mind me asking, why are working as a taxi driver if you graduated from an academy, and early at that."
"Well, some things don't go as expected Alex."
The driver sighed and glanced at the young lad again
"You know, it may seem like I don't do much, but I actually am part of something much bigger and I hope that once the right person becomes...president per say, I can finally take my place as a loyal follower."
"Why a follower and not a leader?" Alexander wondered
"Some of us aren't built for the job" The driver shrugged and continued
"The person I follow is much more than they think they are capable of and undeserving of their past even though he is different than the rest of us. Even now, he seems to be struggling. But he's getting through everything well, it's about time everything goes off and BAM the rightful leader will lead us. Easier said than done though, I know for sure."
The driver laughed and once silence settled over them Alex decided he wanted to know more
"How can you trust them?"
"I owe them my life. What about you kid? Anyone you can trust?"
Alex stayed silent for a while but answered eventually
"No. I thought I could but...he turned his back on me last minute and took everything I had. Even my parents"
"Didn't you say you were five when that happened?"
Alex wiped the tears forming in his eyes and cleared his throat
"Uh, yeah. We might have been young but he still turned his back on me. He could have stopped the event from happening. He had the power to."
"Have you every thought that there was more to it kid?"
"I know what I saw, and I know what happened."
"Like I said before, somethings aren't what they seem. But anyway! What kind of music do you like?"
"Um, I'm currently into an artist called NIve"
"Ah, so you're into k-pop"
"More or less"
"Well then, NIve it is. Hey siri, play Nive on spotify"
Throughout the rest of the ride towards the orphanage the two listened to NIve. When they arrived at the orphanage the driver offered to walk Alexander inside, mainly because he wanted to see the children as he really loved them but due to his field of work, was afraid to have one. Alexander clearly turned the offer down as he found it quite weird and used the excuse that the driver was still technically working. The driver accepted and continued on his way. He continued going straight for a few minutes and then took a detour towards where he had picked up the young lad. Awaiting for the moment he would see his precious leader once again.
